I am writing this cause I’m genuinely curious if my puppy is an anomaly or something after reading this sub for weeks. We got an 8 week old puppy this past weekend, we had a 5 hour drive back home from the breeder and she slept for most of it and was fine when she was awake. She slept the first night all the way through. The first day here she did a good job with crate and playpen and I treat her when she was settling and now she likes to settle when she’s had some activity. If she wakes up from a nap, yeah she’ll whine cause she’s alone and bored or maybe cause she needs to go potty… she only had 3 accidents on the first 2 days and today we went a full day without an accident. Yes, she is 8 weeks old. She doesn’t mind being handled, she did well at the vet today and she gets tired so quick that we try to have her not take a nap so close to bedtime and keep her up so she sleeps good at night.
I may be jinxing myself here but she’s done good. Today was a bit of a struggle with first day back at work and seeing me close a door to work but after the first excessive yelling I decided to bring her to my office in her portable kennel and she slept another hour.
I was just trying to play with her right now and she left me and went to her crate and got ready to sleep… I left the room and no whine at all with her looking straight at me.
Definitely feel like its too good to be true.
