What albums have y’all had in repeat lately, can be newer releases y’all have quite enjoyed recently, or old classics you are coming back to, just any albums you’ve listened to over and over in the past few days.
Every day it seems to die a little more
This week it's been mostly Half Divorced by Pissed Jeans.
Me too! Been bouncing between this and the new Uranium Club
Aw shit I gotta check that new uranium club, they’re so fucking good!
Second that, been a steady repeat since it came out, also in one of my Silver Jews moods too
Hell yes. This band has been a partner in my unwilling trudge through adulthood and thos album has in particular resonated deep into my 39 year old married dad ass, on the tail of nearly getting divorced this year myself.
On its way in the mail, I've waited too long for this so I'm not listening to it until it arrives
Get fucked by the chats, banger album
Chats!!!
STRUCK BY- LIGHTNING!
Instant classic
I listened to this today!
Same!
I saw them on their North American tour last year and they are so good live too
In the last week:
Hüsker Dü - Zen Arcade
Toxic Reasons - Kill by remote control
The Undertones - Self titled, and Dig yourself deep
Afghan Whigs - Congregation, black love
fIREHOSE - Raggin full on
Feederz - Jesus EP
The Chats - Get Fucked
Ruts DC - Counterculture?
Iggy Pop - Post Pop Depression
Sonic Youth - The eternal
Killing joke - Pylon
Paul Weller - a lot of his albums, both older and recent
Rodrigo y Gabriela - In between thoughts…a new world
Black Flag - My war
The Dave Brubeck Quartet - Jazz goes to college
standing and clapping and pointing up
Great stuff here folks, especially for those of you who haven't branched out too much, from Brubeck to FIREHOUSE to Whigs.
Superb list!
Pylon is a great album. I AM THE VIRUS, I AM THE VIRUS.
Afghan Whigs are so good. Been listening to My War and The Eternal at lot recently as well.
Insomniac by Green Day
Physique - Again
Great record
I got it recently, previously only knowing Bloodstains. Really like it!
Hard to imagine what it was like before they arrived on the scene, but they certainly influenced many, and will for many generations to come.
Thanks for the support!
SO GOOD
Ain't it, though!?!
been playing a lot of 13 songs by Fugazi
That’s almost always in my heavy rotation lol
Face to Face - Protection has been a recent find for me that I missed in the 90’s
Came out in 2016 lol
I mostly meant face to face as a band in general.
Although admittedly that was just an assumption that they came out in the 90’s before I was really listening to music
I got their self titled ‘96 album on CD in the late 90’s, I had never heard them but knew from magazines that they were a band I’d like, so I bought the CD. Turns out it’s an amazing album and I still listen to it to this day. One of my favourites.
That kind of thing happened a lot with punk rock for me back in the 90’s. I grew up in small town Canada so I would read about bands before I ever heard them. Someone in town would get the album and then dub it, give it to a friend who would dub it for someone else, etc. so often by the time you got to hear a band like DFL or SNFU; Minor Threat or NOFX and so on, it was on a tape that was taped off a tape that was taped off another tape! I taped that face to face CD and gave it to my girlfriend at the time.
Yeah those were great times man, the era of the mixtape. I have some local bands tapes that I’ve dumped to my computer that were getting worn out, but the band never released it on anything else and has been long defunct so it’s what I got
Oh yea, great 90s band. Check out Big Choice!
Must be why they missed it!
Haha Protection is one of their recent albums lol but a very good one. Had that in repeat for a while when it came out.
Rites of Spring - S/T
Defeater - Empty Days & Sleepless Nights
Tiger Army - III
Menzingers - After the Party
Lawrence Arms - Apathy & Exhaustion
I've also been on a Lawrence Arms kick lately, funny.
I've been making my way through their discography all morning. Metropole has veen on repeat for me lately. That's my go to LA album
Rites of Spring is always a solid go to
“For Want Of” is one of my favorite songs.
I once heard their lyrics described as “desperate introspection” and that phrase has always stuck with me
damn that's a good list. i can see myself getting progressively more drunk as i listen to these albums to the point where i'm dancin and stumblin to menzingers and larry arms.
And nothing would make Dr. Beexo happier
III is such an underrated album. Geoff Kresges bass playing is immaculate and Nick really threw himself into that album.
My favorite Tiger Army record, for sure
LJG-Hole In My Head
👆This! Best album yet!
Taylor swift -1989
I LOVE TAYLOR SWIFT SO MUCH!!!!
Do you have quite a lot of her albums!?
Mannequin Pussy - I Got Heaven
Yeah, this is a brand new one and banger
fresh fruit for rotting vegetables by dead kennedys
Milo Goes to College
I’ve been rockin’ Everything Sucks a lot lately.
My favorite album by them!
Victory lap by propagandhi
This album is full of bangers! I don't think Propagandhi has put out a bad record, but this one is among their best work.
100% agree. Banger after banger
Sounds like they’ve got some new material coming down the pipes
Oooo can’t wait
Yeah, they have gotten better with every release i think.
Pass The Dust, I Think I'm Bowie by Black Randy & The Metrosquad
The Undertones - Self-titled
The B-52's - Self-titled
Lately I've been listening to Living in Darkness. I think it's a damned near perfect album.
The hum goes on forever - The Wonder Years and Blood, Hair and Eyeballs - Alk Trio
Solid choices. BHE definitely a contender for album of the year
Rohnert Park from Ceremony. Still riding that high from seeing them play it last month.
Phase 3 from Daikaiju. A surf band has absolutely no business going this fucking hard. I'm obsessed.
Rohnert is a masterpiece
I been really enjoying Revolutions Per Minute by Rise Against, Black Masks and Gasoline is so good. Also been listening to London Calling by The Clash a lot
Revolutions Per Minute was the album that sold me on melodic hardcore. Rise Against is my favorite band, so this one's an OG great for me.
If you haven't check out their Long-Forgotten Songs: Covers and B-sides. Built To Last, Voice of Dissent, and their cover of Ballad of Hollis Brown are all amazing.
TSOL - revenge and TSOL- Change Today
WALL OF VOODOO - THE DARK CONTINENT
Alley Cats - NIGHTMARE CITY
and SECT (2012 SELF TITLED)
Happy cake day, man
TSOL!!!
Those first TSOL albums with Joe Wood are really great. Completely underrated and unfairly maligned in my opinion.
Not a punk album. But I’ve listened to the Beatles White Album 10 times in a week. “Everybody’s got Something to Hide” and “Helter Skelter” are songs that kinda influence punk, sound-wise.
Holy shit, no one ever talks about EGSTHEMAMM. I love that song.
White Album is such an odd name for a Beatles album. Did they have no other names lined up?
It was self-titled. The album cover was just white and had “ the Beatles” written on it, so it was coined the white album.
Great album. Happiness is a warm gun!!!
Fucking love that song
The Spits-Volume 4
The Cramps-Psychedelic Jungle
SPY-Habitual Offender
Cancerslug-Beating a dead whore
Black Flag-Damaged

New Laura Jane Grace has really grabbed me. Also checked out the 4-Skins "The Good, The Bad, the 4-Skins" for the first time ever and loving it. Surprised it took me this long.
Idk about on repeat but albums I've been listening to often lately (or a majority of songs from certain albums)
Misfits: Walk Among Us and Earth AD
Ramones: Rocket to Russia
Nirvana: Nevermind
I personally haven’t had any brand new albums on repeat lately, but I’ve had diaspora problems by soul glo in repeat, along with mewithoutyou’s album A to B life, and then while this is folk punk, songs from under the sink by mischief brew. I’ve kinda had those 3 albums on repeat a lot lately, even though it’s nothing I listened to for the first time, things I’m coming back to, but all good albums

Lagwagon “duh”
Minor Threat Complete Discography. I do want to hear it, a lot.
The newest one that I’ve had on repeat is Idles - TANGK.
I feel like that’s a band people are pretty divided over, I haven’t liked everything they’ve released but I have quite liked a couple albums. This new album is different… but I like it.
saame it really scratches an itch that I wouldn't've expected based on their previous work. Its broody and hot and the drumlines are so fun lol.
Machine Gun Etiquette - The Damned
Comfort To Me - Amyl & The Sniffers
Burn It Down - Cheap Perfume
I've been revisiting Jawbox's self-titled album (not the EP, but that's good too) a lot lately. More post-hardcore than punk, but it's still a fantastic record

Uranium Club came out with an album a few days ago. I just discovered English Dogs. this is one of those vans where I can't believe I've never heard of them before and I'm kind of pissed off about it. These guys straight up fucking shred! E-40's new album since Snoop bought Death Row Records is fucking hilarious.

It’s been drug church (cheer specifically), a lot of superchunk, and a little venom sprinkled in there.
High Risk Behaviour by The Chats.

Revisited after a looong time and forgot how much I enjoy them. There are loads of bands I started listening to as a kid that I never really stopped (e.g NOFX, Bad Religion etc.) but for some reason Face to Face were left behind.

Die for the government - anti-flag has too many bangers to not listen to every day
Stopped listening to them once the Justin Sane scandal broke. I used to love them though, especially The Terror State.
Just because Justin is bad doesn’t mean the other members are, and the music is still awesome
I agree with you. It’s just not the same knowing you’re listening to a fuckin’ creep sing, you know?
Subhumans - The day the country died
