We're getting a 30 x 15 pool with a tanning ledge 12 x 6. Our builders messed up the tanning ledge and had it a foot off center. Much disappointment, anyways the easy fix was lengthen the ledge to 13 x 6. Which would be centered with the center cascade waterfall. So we were as happy with the correction. However, the coping tiles were not symmetrical and the lights were 2 foot off on one side. When I mentioned this to the site manager he was polite but said to the effect that he'd never had a customer ask for those items to be symmetrical, but they would fix it. We're gonna do turf and a put put and land scaping we going all out on this project and want it to look great and make sense. Am I being picky?
Yeah I agree with you 100% when you're spending that kind of money you get what you're wanting to get within reason obviously if you're too demanding that's one thing but I get it I mean if it's possible within your range
Are you being picky? Yes. Is it warranted? Absolutely.
You’re allowed to be picky when you’re spending 100k+. I work for a pool company. If our client wants it symmetrical we do our damn best to fulfill that!
Especially if it was the builders mistake that threw everything off in the first place.
Yes unfortunately mistakes can definitely be made. But it’s up to them to correct them for sure!
Builder probably said that in hopes you’d say not to worry about it. It’s your money, get what you want.
No. You aren’t being picky. We pay a lot to have these pools put in so they should be the way we want them.
Seems like you went with a builder that doesn’t take any pride in their work.
Yes, and you have every right to be.
Be picky. It's a ton of your money. Use it EXACTLY how you want and not any other way.
Where’s a real picture of the pool?
Design looks great btw
Kinda looks like my pool. I have 3 copper bowls that pour into the pool from the left with the same overall shape and sunshelf on the right. We love it.
Yes you are but hold their feet to the fire to keep to the contract. Don't let them get away with anything. You have to live with it, they don't.
Not that’s not picky. The builder should be catching this.
When I put in my pool we had the correct the builder several times as they weren’t following the plans accurately.
His fault for not seeing that it wasn't lined up right. Fuck him he's getting paid anyways.
Everything has a place and everything in it’s place.
How far along are they? Is the project complete? If so, have them discount the mistake or redo it. Had a similar issue with waterline tile not level, ask the contractor to redo it and he just walk off the job. Left the materials and some tools behind and haven’t bothered to come back. Currently looking for another contractor to finish the job.
Asking the general public for validation, makes you look more like a showoff. Being picky is only expecting what you paid for. If it is not affecting the function of the product and it is still astatically pleasing, be happy and enjoy it with your friends and family.
Communicating your expectations to the site manager was the right move, and it's reassuring that they acknowledged your concerns and committed to making the necessary adjustments. Ultimately, it's your project and your vision, so it's not being picky to want everything to look great and make sense.
You will not notice in a week. Nor are we he sight lines really affected. But yeah being picky but also they need to build to your desires and specs
This is a troll post.
Why a 3d pic?
no
You can be as picky as you want when you're spending that kind of money.
Get what YOU want, not what the builder tells you, you want
