A candid picture I snuck of my wife on our first walk as a family of three.

Too late. Dog has left the group chat
You can already see the dog giving that sad side eye 😒
NO ONE KNOWS WHAT IT'S LIIIIIIKE
TO BE THE BAD DOG
TO BE THE SAD DOG
BEHIND BROWN EYES
To smelling only lies!
TO BE THE SAD DOG
"I used to be the baby..."
o no
Looks like he was on the verge of doing that in this pic tbh
I see a family of three and a creepy ex-husband snapping pictures from afar.
Dog is already side eyeing the stroller he knows he’s been demoted
That’s a family of 4. Why leave the pup out bro?
Edit: oh, 7 🫡
Bro about to get murdered online for leaving out his pet fam 💀
Imagine he said family of 7 originally
5 kids?! What a Mormon.
I don't how to think about this. We are a family of 3 humans. Counting dogs, we're are 8. Having grown up in a family with 9 kids and no pets. I never wanted anywhere near that many so this really doesn't sit well with me.
We’re a family of 10 with three humans.
The rest are cats….
Aww, a large family of seven cats adopted a tiny human family!
Enslaved*
Im a family of 2. Me and my son (who is a cat)😊
Your son is a cat or identifies as a cat? Or is it the same thing? Its a minefield these days
haha i don't have kids. He's an actual cat
the dog has a fitted sweater i think he’ll be okay
He looks like he has decent credit and a decent job, he’ll be fine on his own
Lmao idk why but that salute made me snort
It’s basically “oh fuck, my bad. I messed up and own up to it” but in emoji-form.
Least that’s how I see it
Yes
Nah, there’s obviously a case of donuts 🍩 in the baby stroller.
Who are you to tell him what to think?
Crazy dog people
Your dog is wearing a sweater, that makes it a child.
Lovely! I have two little boys. They’re humans but they certainly act like animals sometimes. I hope you’re loving being a parent; I’ve found it to be the greatest experience life can offer. Congrats on the happy family.
Idk why I was thinking 3 kids and they were all in that one stroller😭😂
Wtf man it’s 4
A dog and two people taking their stroller full of cans out for a walk.
Plot twist OP's "wife" is some stranger he's been watching from afar and he isn't part of the family of three pictured here
Plot twist he is the one in the stroller.
Or C. OP is the dog
Don't you dare clarify. I prefer my headcanon of Op being the dog in the stylin' sweater and capable of camera-telekinesis.
“I prefer my headcanon of Op being the dog in the stylin' sweater and capable of camera-telekinesis.” r/brandnewsentence
Or that's his divorced wife with her family of 3, dog, mum and baby & he's just watching from afar
C. The dog is one of the three. It's their first walk as a family of three because OP is about to go get some milk from the store.
Please continue taking pictures like this. So many moms don't get candid pictures with their children.
Exactly what I was going to post. Moms always take the photos and rarely end up in them. Break the pattern!
I dunno man, I keep offering moms pictures of them and their kids but they keep just screaming at me that I'm a freak and to stay away from their family
Have you tried a fedora? I’ve heard it really helps people relax!
Additionally it might be easier to ask the kids first! :)
Scream “I AM NOT A THREAT!” while approaching, it’s a disarming tactic I learned.
So long as you don't shout TECHNOLOGY; people are afraid of that.
Is this before or after the candy is offered?
Lol I don't live in that world. The women I know are in every picture that is taken and the men question if they even exist because they have never seen a picture of themselves.
Is it normally mum for people? Growing up my dad was the photographer (to the extent he has thousands of pictures, of which he still sends us all one every 'Throwback Thursday ').
I try but my wife hates every photo I take of her 😓 Meanwhile somehow the pics she takes of me with our son turn out great 🤷
You know, she will almost certainly hate them far less in 20 years. In fact, I bet she will be incredibly grateful to have them when she looks back.
Yep, mine is 17. Hated pics then, breaks my heart there are hundreds of her alone or with her dad and maybe a handful of us together.
All the pictures I "hated" of myself when I was young, I now look at and think "fuck I looked good!".
It's crazy what a negative self image will do to ya.
It doesn’t matter. The pictures don’t have to be for her.
They’re for your kids to have loving photos of their mom when she was young to look back on when they are older.
They’re for your grandkids to have quaint old photographs of grandma when she was young.
They’re a gift to the future.
Of course, I still take them.
The grand kids would love to look at grandma twerking and having tequila slurped out of her belly button on tummy Tuesdays.
Yeah same here lol
Man. I’m the one that’s left out. :/ I have a trove of my wife and child.
Well then let her know, man!
You don’t think I do? I like taking candid shots and she just doesn't think of them. It’s not that serious, but sometimes I would like to see more nice pics of me and my daughter somewhere out and about.
My wife got so annoyed that I never thought to take photos that she put together a photography course called famtography specifically aimed at building the habit of taking candid photos as well as a bunch of tips on how to take better photos. I'm not great but I'm a heck of a lot better than I was.
My wife got so annoyed that I never thought to take photos that she put together a photography course called famtography
That's pretty ingenious. I have this same problem with my husband. It's awesome that your wife actually did something about it to help other families in the same boat!
P.S. There are some typos/errors on the website -- mostly hyphenation issues, but this one from the home page jumped out at me (see bold text):
This doesn’t mean living these precious moments through a screen at all times, but learning cues about when and how to take photos so that so my kids will have memories with me in them too is important.
Just thought I'd point it out in case y'all want to go in and fix it!
Wow you’re the lovely but useless husband that keeps popping up in my Instagram adverts
for your bday you could do a daddy daughter photoshoot. it’s not the same as candids, but they’ll still be cherished
I read that once, with young families it’s never candid photos together. So whenever I’m out walking and see this situation I always ask if they want a nice photo together. And usually the answer is yes!

She takes them. We’re talking about candid photos though.
Once they start hitting milestones e.g. crawling, walking, talking, take a lot of videos.
Those stages don't last long and they are incredibly precious to look back on.
Audio of your children talking is absolute gold in future years.
I’m a recent dad and my wife mentioned this to me. I have a lot of pictures of me with my son. I started being conscious about taking more photos of them together when we’re about.
4*
Dog's like, what about me?
He took this pic right when he left for cigarettes and never came back, so he meant it is now a family of 3
Papa?
Can you hear me?
"aite imma head out"
Which is why it shows that look
Ouch....
Clearly OP is the dog.
Very curious about this baby.

The mice living in your wall
I must demand the cat tax and any other animal taxes!!
I will happily share those taxes with you.
😍
Mf out here living my dream. Good on ya mate. 🍻
I think that’s just a stray that unfortunately got its leash snagged on OP’s wife. I mean it’s not even wearing pants
The stroller is just to carry the dog snacks
Real Talk, though: Many of the couples I know who have had a baby immediately lost like 75% of the love they previously had for their pets.
I'm not saying this happens to everyone, obviously, but I've personally seen several instances of people going from "my fur baby" to "oh right, I have a dog" over the course of less than a month.
OP went to get milk after the picture
OP is the baby
Seconded
Dog owners are gonna take issue with the title I can tell you that right now haha
Not me over here upvoting all the comments about the dog…
I’m not even a dog person but my first thought was that unless that dog fathered that child I’m pretty sure that’s a family of four
If OP had other pets at home, then they might say some other number that would make the post confusing.

They already are… weird. And I say this as someone who has a dog and loves her very much.
Same, love dogs but they aren’t equal to humans. Anyone who thinks otherwise has issues as far as I’m concerned.
Am I a joke to you?
- Dog, probably
Dog, definitely
Apparently they've got 4 pets in total. Perhaps that's why he didn't include pets lol
Your dog is giving your kid the side eye.😀
Yes dog is so jealy
Thank you for taking this photo of your wife. Moms so often end up taking pictures of the baby and everyone else. But there tend to be very few photos of Mom and baby. At least ones that aren't posed or selfies.
I look back and wish I had more pictures of me and my son. She will really cherish candid, beautiful shots. Or even ones that aren't beautiful when her hair is crazy and she hasn't slept and she's got baby spit up on her shirt. Those are the real moments that no one else gets to be there for, and they're worth cherishing.
My husband, unbeknownst to me, took a photo of me and our son about 15 minutes after he was born and was chilling in my arms. I had a difficult labour and was so exhausted after 24 hours of being in labour, plus medicated from the epidural that I was I pretty out of things. My husband framed the photo and gave it to me a few weeks later at Christmas. I had no idea he had taken the picture but I was so so glad he had as I have very few memories of what it was like right after giving birth. This framed photo is one of my most cherished mementos.
Take all the photos dads/partners - the moms will be so appreciative!
I try to take candid photos of my wife but every time I try, there’s like an alarm that goes off in her head and she looks at the camera before I can take a picture
Have you tried hiding in the bushes?
There’s a great essay about this: https://www.huffpost.com/entry/mom-pictures-with-kids_b_1926073
I take so many photos with my wife and kid. I wish she took more of them with me in it and her. Haha. Asked a couple times but it’s not really her thing to do it casually. I just speak up when I really want one. I think we all need to be our own advocates when it comes to getting the things that matter to us like this.
For real. To add insult to injury my phone died and I lost 8 months of pictures from my baby (6mo to just over a year) because it hadn’t been backing up properly so we had very few pics of his life during that time as I was the “family photographer”.
Ok, everyone is talking about the dog, but I’m just fangirling over the wife! Currently very pregnant and hoping I look half as fabulous newly postpartum!
You will. Love looks amazing on people.
Please keep doing this. Most of the pics I have with my little kids are crappy.
The dog is plotting its revenge
Am I chop liver.... says the dog
Is your wife Debbie from Shameless?
I thought she looked familiar but couldn’t place it. I see it now
Still a cute photo for sure
She kick you out?
4, it’s your family of 4
That doge is not pleased 🤣
Dog still seems a little sus about the new addition. Might want to at least knock it up to 4 to include him or you might really be down to 3. He has your wife’s hair, after all!
That dog is making a face like, "I'll show him, 'family of three.'"
man, people will really just post a picture of their family to internet strangers like its no big deal
OP is a dog confirmed.
Made a quick edit. https://imgur.com/a/nRRyIh8
Poor dog getting even less recognition
I thought you made the dog look sadder lol
you beat me to it >:(
The bebe fell out and is alone in the background
That's what I was thinking. Trying to figure out if this was a joke
Sir why is your baby on the ground so far away?
Haaaa my first thought, “you left your baby behind!”
Good choice on the KeyFit 30
My man, congrats on expanding the family. All the best 🫡
So cute!!!
This is sweet 💗
Dog is looking dubious...
Four*
Four*
Family of 4
The dog wears a sweater and is not part of the family? Jk, show her the picture on your anniversary.
Don't stop taking candid pics, too many moms don't have enough pictures of them and baby.
What a great photo! You captured her beaming at the baby and she looks beautiful! Looks like this could be one of those “candid” photos of some royal or celebrity out walking.
Dog thinking.....four.
FOUR*
Four.
not that anyone asked. but she looks like debbie gallagher from shameless in this pic.
That doggo is looking at the baby carriage like he's not too pleased. Like, this thing has got to go.
The baby is outside the pram. Who is the wife staring at. /S
Damn, you did the dog dirty. Is she just an accessory?
apparently the doggo is excommunicado
I see a family of 4 in this picture tho.
Unless your wife stole someone’s dog.
Family of 4! Any dog wearing a sweater is a family member!
I only see a family of 4....🤨
Papa…papa…paparazzi
Dog said: l think you mean family of four
Nah, thats a family of four if I've ever seen one
Congratulations on your growing family - however many you are. Lovely picture - your wife is looking at your new baby with lots of love & awe. ❤️
Very thoughtful of you. Your wife looks happy. A great memory to cherish. I wish you both all the best.
Three can also be used to describe a tripod or 3-wheeled stroller.
there is no picture
Beautiful! Enjoy!
Congrats on your beautiful family !
Beautiful picture; I’m sure these candid shots will be cherished by your family in the future
Shouldn't that be four?
don't you mean 4?
And doggy makes 4
Clearly, this is a family of four
Family of 4** can't forget the doggo 🥰
I think your wife forgot the baby back there
Frame it, get it painted, or otherwise somehow turn it into a gift and give it to her for Mother’s Day.
Cool dog. Looks concerned lol
You look good in the pink sweater
I love my dog but most dog owners are so damn annoying. No, the dog is not on the same level as his wife or child. It’s an animal.
Ah yes. Using one’s own family to garner favour from anonymous others on the internet. Always a classic.
For the love of god, and the sake of your family, PLEASE, quit your social media, put down the camera-phone, and be in the moment with your wife and child!!!
Roles reversed, I’m confidant you’d want your parents to do the same.
Fun times. Enjoy it. Just passed 8 months over here
I thought your wife left your baby and that is your baby towards the upper left in the background and not in the stroller.
I also choose to sneak photos of this guy's wife.
Does she know you're posting it on reddit?
Congratulations man, you’ve made it!
But if you ever leave the dog out again I will hunt you down
Save the photo for your 30 year wedding anniversary. Place it in a nice frame as a gift. 30 years from now, your welcome.
The absolute look of love on her face tells me you are a lucky man with a wonderful family.
Don't forget your furry, 4 legged kids! They're family too!
family of four 🙏🏻
Family of 4 (doggie definitely counts).
Either A. Dog is one of the three and is taking a break from riding in the stroller; or B. You mean 3 being you, wife, and baby (three humans)
