Is it just me or when I turned on custom shaping and went aggressive on my XR there wasn’t any haptic buzz anymore. I was going to look it up, but realized that it fixed it.
Huh. If so, no one else has noticed that. I'm thinking maybe the aggressiveness eliminated it for some level of acceleration, but that you could still get the buzz with harder acceleration or top speed.
That’s a great idea!! Hopefully they will implement something like this.
They haven't seemed to want to do much about theft in the past. My best guess why is that talking about it is a bummer and their marketing material is all about good vibes, and also because generally a stolen board = a new purchase from them. But now that the registration stuff is in place, perhaps they will? Though I commented the same idea on that video, and they have not responded to it. If you like it and have a YouTube account, go upvote it.
I can’t find your comments on the linked video. Weird.
It's under the thread by NIGHTWHEEL.. "What if the board is second hand?"
Hmm. This is a link to the video with my comment highlighted... works for me in an incognito tab, but YouTube comments are weird, sometimes deleted, sometimes held in filters... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JsT-0ygLx8&lc=UgxEv-RyW-U0Je39sDR4AaABAg
Good info, thanks for posting.
These are comment replies from the official Onewheel account on comments I left on this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JsT-0ygLx8
Good to hear. Hopefully this is implemented fairly soon... I still haven't heard of racers that meet the originally stated requirements getting to turn of haptic buzz, and if this takes just as long that could cause some problems for 2nd hand buyers. Sellers too I suppose.
And I still think they should add a "report board stolen" feature where if any other phone/app connects to a reported-stolen board, that app reports its location, IP address, Apple ID, etc. to the authorities. Then have the transfer ownership feature for legit sales. That could drastically reduce thefts, since you couldn't connect a stolen board to the app without getting reported.
EDIT: reply to the feature I recommended in the paragraph above. The idea is "being passed along."
