Well shit.
I'll be walking my happy ass outside until I get Wizard of Oz'd.
I couldn't help but use this saying today. Thanks!
Also, the only song I personally want played at my celebration of life after I get Wizard of Oz'd is Over the Rainbow by Judy Garland. True Story
I hate it here.
🤢
I hope all you "weather heads" are severely disappointed.
There is no chance of that today! Find a hole in the ground.
I’m a chaser and I’m paying close attention to this one.
I just want to mow my freaking yard.
Buy a scythe.
You have until this evening.
My yard is currently a giant lake from yesterday’s rain. Saturday it was a small lake from all the rain last week.
What's the crappie like out there? I might bring out my jonboat...
I ended up just doing mine in the rain on Saturday. I got tired of waiting lol
Looks like I’ll be pre-loading the shelter again tomorrow.
More like pre-gaming, am I right?
I bet they put us in the static color during the noon news
The chaser in me wants that but the little kid in me doesn’t
I’m so damn tired of night storms!
I hate to break it to you, but they pop off at the heat of the day, which is like 4-6. Storms are mainly going to be night storms.
Yea I know…and I’m so tired of it! At least come in the am so my workday is shortened! lol or ya know…not at all!
I don't get it.
If you mean the NSFW,some people get anxiety from seeing stuff like this so I don’t wanna upset anyone
Tbh I get it, but for people in the shit, you should know, you should be anxious, that anxiety should move you to prepare.
Not all anxiety is bad anxiety, stay alert, stay ready, have a plan
That can't be a real thing...
On the Internet everything is a real thing apparently
It shouldn’t have to be labeled nsfw for yeah I’m one of those terrified by this stuff. After a couple of close calls with tornados and taking a partial lightning strike I’m an anxious wreck during weather like this. I’ve been thinking about this storm for the last 4 days.
But knowing and being prepared is a hell of a lot better than leaving it in Jesus' hands. We all know he gets touchy.
That last sentence had me 🤣🤣🤣.
Need to work on their color coding between maps.
Even if they did I mean in what situation is red not bad
When purple shows up.
I don't believe a better gif for this very specific scenario even exists.
Especially since it was just May the 4th, peak tornado season AND SW day
May the gale force winds be with you.
And Twitter just reminded me that it’s the Revenge of the Sixth.
Making a tornado zone map the entire area where some storms may develop is a little alarmist.
I almost live for the adrenaline rush…almost
I have to go to my night shift job at 6:00 pm…….this is gonna be fun…….
"tOrNaDo zOnE!!"
Yeah I'll stick with NWS, thanks.
Thank you God. Only 2 years in mcalester and I haven't and don't want to see a tornado
That's why I moved, tired of the extreme weather. Good luck, though
I'd really like to leave work early. Can they please start the fear mongering around noon? Thanks!
Everyone please stay safe that includes our stormchasers.
Is that Matt Mahler? I thought he left 9?
Justin Rudicel
Thanks
That’s Justin…
I've been out of the state for a hot minute. Matt was my favorite, I almost got excited
I used to work at 9, so it’s probably just easier for me to differentiate.
Matt left and got out of the business in general though.
lol I worked at 9 for a few months before OETA offered me a better post way back in '19
Small world. Spent about a year and a half there back from Feb. ‘16 to aug. ‘17 before moving on.
I worked with Matt! Great guy. He works at Paycom now. When the weather gets weird we would always make him give us a status report in chat. Really cool dude.
I ran camera on the studio floor at 9 for a few months while he was there. When a big storm hit during the overnight weekend shift I watched him go for 5+ hours of non-stop talking weather coverage. Brilliant guy, enormous respect for his capacity for simultaneously being a performer, teacher, and scientist.
Not holding my breath.
Have you been under a rock the last two weeks?
No but I've watched the storms go from the predicted highlighted areas the last two weeks and either shift north or south. I've watched as they say the sky is gonna fall and then it dwindles to just a shower the day it arrives. I'm not stupid, I'm prepared but skeptical. Forecasting feels to have regressed in previous years.
What's a weather head?
This is starting to feel like 2019 again.
