I think your problem is the shop work. Do call out and you could be making 40 easy

Maybe 33-35ish depending on how transferable your certs are. A lot of aerospace guys fall into that trap (myself) that think because they have UT2 in aerospace means it’s UT2 anywhere.

For 3 years of experience I’d say you are on par. Keep at it. Get some more years experience. But hey it never hurts to ask. Cost of living raise or whatever. Don’t be the guy that complains about a raise but never works OT. Or the guy who is always blowing his money on dumb shit and can’t figure out why he doesn’t make more. There are a lot of factors that go in to play. Honestly if you plan on doing the same thing, working the same routine, what justifies the raise? Try to see it from the other side. It’s always better to go in with the attitude what you can do for the employer for that raise vs just give me give give me. Ask will there be a cap? Ask when will I be considered for another raise? Is there something I can do to improve so I can get an increase? Where/what will my salary be after 5 years of service? 10? 20? Whatever is promised get it in writing!

I’d say 40+ with eddy current and UT but totally depends on where you work.

Shop work I can never find anything higher then mid to upper 30s. I'm on the ASNT side with level 2 in RT, UT, PT, VT, MT, and some NACE certs.

First, line up other jobs and have offer letters in hand is my recommendation, I did this last year with my boss as I wanted to go from 39 to upper 40s but had to show why. I'm on travel work 50/50 so 1 week on 1 off.

Without getting a level 3 I find it hard to find shop or local work breaking into the 40s.
