In light of Givony's comments, I found a Twitter thread where Kyle Filipowski's brother provides additional context about his and Kyle's relationship (or lack thereof). There is some eyebrow-raising information, especially considering that his fiancée, then his girlfriend, attended his high school prom as a graduated master's student.
