I like birds, but I hate city pigeons.
Even if the pigeon wasn't all floof, that snake could still handle that. It only becomes a problem if the prey item is weirdly shaped (like human shoulders) or far too wide (much wider than that pigeon is to that snake)

To explain this I mean like if the snake attempted at a bad angle, like if it tried to eat a human head first and the human was laying on their side? Easy. But if the human was being eaten head first laying on their back? Dead snake as our shoulders are too wide.
Edit: Source: I was mad into snake when I was 8-9 and vaguely remember being told how a snake could die eating a human.
