100% bitch move. Then again his last challenges he always came off so negative, like debbie downer (this sucks, that isnt going to work, we arent going to make it, i might quit, i might quit blah blah) and seemed like every time things werent 100% working for him he immediately turns negative (missed that target, we are going to starve to death) so not too too surprised he quit? He was already miserable, nothing was "working" and Andrew just med tapped early. He might have the skills, maybe even as good as Matt but zero of the stamina, will power, and mental outlook.
If it weren't for his partner's support in the first challenge he would have tapped before the half way mark. Such an amazing hunter....yeah, ok...take bad shots and break your shit and go home. Stay there please.
Hahah I tagged her in an edit to my comment. Hopefully she sees it and weighs in. I remember finishing their ep and thinking “oh cool some new people that seem competent and less dramatic” apparently she carried him and he got lucky with a few kills.

Shell said in an earlier podcast she could not use Cole’s bow on their season because it’s custom made and weighted for him (50 lbs). She IS an experienced hunter and gatherer. But the strength required to draw the bow would possibly be too much for kaiela too.
I don’t know about the great hunter thing but he has no mental game at all. He is weak and whiny all the time.

Each person brought his own blade so she still has her own and perhaps Andrew's. The bow, though, was an optional item meant for the use of all. It was extremely inconsiderate of him to leave with it, although it was his own property.
Came here just to post about this!! Did I miss something where he got into a fight or something with that woman? What a horrible thing to do just leave her without the equipment! Just ask to move… I really have no words for this. Even if it was his bow and knife he should just say mail it back to him or something…. How horrible for her.
We were appalled by how self involved all of his actions were.

The line of his fish arrow broke. The bow was still serviceable, and he could have recovered the arrow and repaired the string. He was just ready to leave.
He is not proficient with his bow anyway, he needs a big target apparently, now Kaila is alone I think the production staff should put her with another group, or she will be the next to tap
In the next episode she will "decide" to relocate and will "by chance" meet up with another group.
This is why they brought the Legends on last time. So many people tapped. Terra got 11 stitches hopefully they can stay.
I literally just saw a guy last week on the Ed Stafford survival show make his own bow and arrow and kill an electric eel while also racing cross country. This shit is weak.

The way he handled his partner was just godlike. If he disagreed on something or thought something was stupid, he just smiled and said okay. He knew what he was doing. I’m guessing he’ll crush this.
He’s gonna sit underground in an insect free enclosure, being warm and having a belly full of food.
I Love how he sees a problem and figures out how to fix it. Maybe Cole should take some survival training from him.

No way in hell Kaiela is ever pulling that bow, it looked like a 60lb bow. In fact Adam, possibly Terra might be the only ones on that challenge able to even somewhat make use of it. He should've left the arrows though.
At some point, they are going to merge. If he left the bow, Kaiela could have taken it to the next meeting where someone else might have been able to draw it. I didn't notice if he took the fishing line that went with the bow.
Who knows maybe Kaiela didn't even want to lug that around on the 40 mile hike??
Cole is a big man, and the bow is fitted (the draw weight) according to his size and strength. I'm sure if they knew what they were doing they could dial it down some but as I said above, I don't believe anyone apart from Adam possibly (and I have my doubts there even as it could even be a 70lb) could pull that bow unless they made some makeshift crossbow thing like they did on XL5.
I don't recall seeing if he took the arrows because I cringed in disgust at the comment about Kaiela following him, but he should've left those if he didn't.
I can maybe see her not wanting the bow. I can't see her not wanting his blade. More blades is always better - especially since people brought different types of blades for different tasks. I think taking all of his stuff home is just an indication that he's a big baby who took his toys home when the jungle didn't want to play by his rules.
I don't see him purposely taking the blade home out of spite lol. Once again might've been a decision Kaiela made herself, or something that neither thought was of importance seeing as everyone has a blade of some sort. I'm not saying this as a fan of Cole, just what I believe is the most probable thing. In the first episodes of NAA it was paramount that you left your items as it was only 1 blade and whatever item the other person brought lol.
I'm going to have to take close notice on the next episode if the arrows were left behind as that's of WAY more value than an extra knife. If not that was a blunder by both of them TBH, him for not leaving them, and her for not asking for them. If I recall Sam and Terra also brought bows on this challenge as well.

Errrrybody chopping at their own limbs tonight.
When terra cut her wrist i was literally telling my wife thats a dangerous ass way to cut hard wood. And boom it bounced off and went directly to her arm. Luckily she's alright and it wasn't a major cut but if that happened right off the bat when she began chopping and that blade was still very sharp it could've been a disaster. Now though she is cutting down directly towards her feet and its another recipe for disaster.

I think he'll be invited back ASAP, it was a fluke injury and the camera loves him. He's a godsend for the producers as there's so much material he provides for them to air.
In the same breath, Nathan is an insane survivalist, but I'm sure a nightmare for producers to find material to air with him. You can tell some cast love when the camera follows them around, with him you feel like its a burdon lol
I really really hope he comes back. I love Andrew and I would love to see him paired or in a group with Dan just bc they are both so positive, so eager to learn, so 100% into this and I think between the two have the skills to take on long challenges. Would love to see both of them with Jake, omg talk about dream team, so much for producers to work with.
I'm pretty confident Andrew will be back again, I hope so at least. Jake said XL Frozen was his swan song.
As for Dan, I hope we've seen the last of all the mean girls crew on LOS lol.

I just started the new season and I was so disappointed to see her on there. I dislike even hearing her gravely smoker's voice. I hope the producers learn from fan feedback and never bring her back again.

Really didnt understand Andrew's team decision to keep using those large leaves for bedding after the first night and realizing the LEAF cutting ants loved them? Getting a raised platform was a must since they were all over where they set up camp, but ants can crawl, common sense would be they are going to crawl up (or drop down) to get to the LEAVES you are using for bedding. Personally after first night, even second night and seeing how bad ants were in that spot, I would have scouted around for new place or if there was a different spot a couple (2-3) miles further in on map with water resource, I would have pushed to keep moving forward now that we rehydrated and hope for better conditions. Raised platform (even just 2-3 inches off ground) is critical IMO in any damp, rainy cold, bug infested location. I know it burns a lot of calories to make one but it also burns a ton of calories shivering, fight off the ants, and lack of sleep. The trade off IMO is worth it. (This has annoyed me watching other challenges when we see night after night them fighting crawling bugs or cold damp and not getting sleep and they are laying in the dirt). Same goes for lean tos in wet rainy cold environments. You need way better protection against wind and rain, not just for self but for your fire and firewood. A small lean to barely covering heads of 3 people sitting up isnt going to cut it. Again comes down to burning calories to build it vs burning calories shivering etc and lack of sleep multiple nights in a row.
I totally agree, but I think they aren't allowed to leave until production wants them to. Its probably convenient for the production crew to have everyone close to each other.
But please, stop using the leaves to sleep on! It gives me the itches looking at that haha.
Leaves are pretty vital, they make it more comfy and protect from rain. But they could have tried tearing down extra leaves and placing them around the camp to keep the ants from attacking their shelter

Normally I would agree but it looks like this part of Colombia is going to give us a couple different environments from jungle, to swamp, to Savannah to mountains so interested to see how moving from one environment into a completely different one challenges them verses dealing with just one type the entire 40 days.

Honestly I don’t mind. I just hate any season filmed in Africa. I find sitting in bumas all day and there being no water so boring. Any African season I pretty much fast forward through. Much prefer the Amazon type ones.

Crazy surprised at what I saw on this episode, moreover that I actually liked the cast and the vibe each group had and there was no instant ego trips apparent amongst them. Producers finally did a spot on job putting the teams together from the start IMO.
Sad for Andrew and Terra, knife safety is paramount!! On this challenge where they are nomads I'm thinking I'd bring a saw instead, a la Trish, as there's two other knifes in camp for the detail work.
Literally floored at Cole leaving so soon, as I wanted to see the reunion with Shell eventually, same as Andrew with Heather, who I'm quite enjoying watching so far. The Adam/Sam/Heather group is definitely the surthrival group I think, they mesh well together.

Every trans journey is different. Some choose to do top surgery but not bottom, some choose to do none. Some like Terra run into medical problems using HRT or lose access to it (some states have tried to ban adults from access to gender affirming care). Etc. As for the facial hair, even with professional hair removal it isnt permanent and they dont have access to razors etc to shave daily like she might in real life.
None of the above though has anything to do with their ability as a survivalist.

I’m confused. I thought Terra was trans (male to female) she looks more masculine in this new episode. I missed some of the beginning. Did she say anything about stopping her hormones again? I know in season 14 she started to grow a beard due to lack of hormones.
According to their Instagram they are non-binary and go by they/them/he/she. I think Terra is just generally gender non-conforming at this point.
In another thread someone on here posted that they had to stop hormone therapy for medical reasons.
The last comment I remember on Reddit from Terra was something about “when she WAS transitioning” so it was kind of cryptic. Not sure if they stopped hormone treatments or what their current status is.

I have never been more heartbroken for the first Xl episode i ever seen, My Preseason Winners Pick was the 1st one Out, I did not expect Andrew to go out this early, after I seen him on Castaways, (my first time watching a season of something related to the frenchise was Last one standing) I really was Hoping Andrew woulld make it further then he did, with that thumb injury, it was bound to happen.... Im still salty to this day about it.
