Unfortunately too many people need to read this, exposure and getting attention isn't the problem for most of you.

How much business acumen would you need to force people to listen to your music or pay for it when already 99% of people skip your songs online.
There will always be earning disparities like in any business but it's not unreasonable to tell people to perfect their craft and be sure to produce better quality music in order to improve their chance of success.
And we have different definition of success, if we stay reasonable and not aim for the top50 charts or whatever we would aim for touring and gigs that would be good enough that businesses would fight for a chance to get you to perform for them.
For majority of people business acumen really only get you this far. And if you listen to the music being posted here once in a while you can understand that asking people to improve the quality of their music is probably the best for them at this point.
Saying business and networking is the key to your success that you will never have is copium.

If you're music is trash, people can know you, they will just know you are trash.
Im not saying you dont need both talent and a minimum of being known, im saying people focus too much on the being known part.
“If you aren’t skilled, your talent will fail you.” Or as the hustle/grind kids like to say, “Nobody cares. Work harder.”
