You can probably buy the whole neighborhood with the price of that GS
A bike like that is around 135k BRL… I wouldn’t say the whole neighborhood but definitely close to one of those houses
He stole it
Not exactly a house but all the cars in the video
Brasil Sil Sil Sil...
No way he'd be dragging that luggage rack if he bought it.
that's the neat part, he didn't
Blinking indicators = stolen bike
✅ flip-flops ✅ Shorts ✅ T-shirt ✅ No gloves ✅ Crap tattoos ✅ Younger than anyone who could actually afford that bike in any corner of the world
... "Probably" stolen yes
Younger than anyone who could actually afford that bike in any corner of the world
Some people have rich dads.
But yeah, probably
Why ? Something technical causes it?
Wait why?
While not contesting the 'bought it' bit, why is a luggage rack that important? It's clearly a bolt-on part.

I wish they were only $150.
The grid for that bike costs $468 not including labor for installation. I'm pretty sure the R1250 GS has central locking for the luggage, there's probably some sort of harness involved too.
150 might be a down payment on a luggage rack for a beemer....

And none of those you listed are the OEM racks. Try looking up the BMW top case rack price and let us know.
And probably like $30 in scrap piping and MIG wire but that's still not what the thread is about
Because its like $350 to replace:

Nah, just expensive.
Aye, the ole stolen GS.
How tf do they shift up in sandals?
I pulled my Versys into my garage from the street once with flip flops on. It wasn't exactly comfortable, but it's a feeling I guess you could eventually get used to. My flip flops straps happened to go right where my shifter usually fits.
That said, this is just the norm in some places. I assume you either get flip flops like mine, or get used to it or grow calluses.
I use to ride in sandals all the time. The strap works just fine. A 3" long grasshopper at 80mph will break your pinky toe, but the strap will let you shift without issue.
The grasshopper thing sounds like a painful lesson. I broke my pinky toe on a doorframe once, which was no fun.
Hell, I've had a Cicada hit my helmet and my riding jacket in the last couple of days alone. I don't want to know what those feel like without something between me and my skin.
I got my arms cut up by leaves in Autumn when I rode a short distance in a t-shirt. Does that count?
sure
One time I went moto camping with my 1090 and I almost dropped my bike trying to reposition it at camp on a slight slope because my feet rolled laterally inside of my heydudes camp shoes. No doubt, I would feel less connected in sandals.
I'm definitely no ATTGAT guy, but I always wear my work boots or my riding boots anymore. I like the solid sole for shifting and planting my feet.
Just one low speed accident and the bike pinned me to the pavement, grinding off my shoe, then my ankle and shin. Took months of pain to walk again. Pink ribbon scars.
I now have riding boots and that bike doesn't move unless I am wearing them.
If I don't put my boots on, these days, I'll just crank the bike and walk it up the driveway with the clutch. Glad you bounced back from the wreck!
It's crazy what people do in sandals in Asian and Latin American countries. You see construction workers wearing them, scaling up 20 storey bamboo scaffolding with no harnesses, people hiking up mountains in sandals, etc. It's wild.
Feet can adapt pretty well when they get used to a particular type of footwear. Hell, lots of people around the world trapse through jungles with no shoes. For those of us in colder regions though, we have to change our footwear to be more protective more often and so our feet don't adapt to being exposed like that.
Depends on the shifter.
I wouldnt want to try it on a ducati diavel, but it aint an issue on my wee-strom
Pros wear slides for this reason. Built in shifter pads.
like real men
With their foot presumably
I rarely ride barefoot and shift that way.
Steel toes
Another thieving prick abusing someone else's pride and joy
So here's my take. If I lived in a place like that, which I have (I grew up in Caracas, Venezuela), you wouldn't catch me dead owning valuable property like this. The property and you are both targets. I'd live with eyeballs on the back of my head and be paranoid 365 days of the year. Unfortunately, you can't own nice things in these places, and those that do risk being targets.
That's how I feel owning an iPhone and using it on the streets. I hold it with both hands. I don't understand Harley owners in my city, I wouldn't feel safe to leave it parked anywhere
Definitely stolen. In my country last year it became a trend among criminals to steal high end motorcycles and use them to race or brag and then set them on fire. There was a high profile murder of a millionaire who was killed for his bike.
So they don't even profit of off it and kill someone just to stunt with their bike, psychopathic
Now you see what we are dealing with. I'm from Argentina, the video is probably from our neighbor Brazil but I bet the scenario is similar in this aspect.
Yeah it's like that here in Brazil, my dad doesn't even take his bikes outside the condo because of the high risk of on of them getting stolen, and the most expensive costs 60k in reais, not 110k like this BMW
Psychopatic is an understatement
Damn, that's beyond savage, that's just evil.
Wait until you find out what they do to people.
What city in Argentina are you from? I'm Brazilian, and I thought this kind of thing didn't happen there
I'm from Mar del Plata but the case of the guy I was mentioning happened in the Buenos Aires metro area
Reminds me of my cat after a shit scrubbing it's bum and making a skid mark on the floor to clean him self
I do that too!
This one weird trick to save THOUSANDS$ on toilet paper!
u/sc1onic's carpet cleaning bill is absolutely astronomical though.
Tropical country. No carpet. Just tiles. Fortunately.
thanks for the laugh haha
Wait. Your cat does it? Or actually you do it?
Cat might have worms

Not always. De-wormed my cat, brought him to the vet. Apparently he just doesn't want to lick his asshole, as he found an easier way of cleaning up.
Cat together strong
I'll bet you don't want to lick his asshole, either
Yeah, can't really blame him
Lol. Yes. Very recently got all of them the medication given. But one of furballs is a derp. And sometimes. Shit sticks and he does this skid mark trick. Have to wet wipe the whole place atleast once In a month with that idiot.
Using the hazard lights for this, what a safety dork.
He can’t turn them off, this what happen when a BMW is stolen
so the bike thinks it's been stolen, but it lets him start the engine.
Theft uh, finds a way
In the bike’s defence, they probably rigged the ignition, bypassing the next-gen artificial intelligence chip which can rationalise these things.
Are you telling me he's not using them for safety? 🤔
Im afraid yes 😔
Sure, because without any practice, you can just stunt a GS. I guess he's a natural.
They get a lot of practice with stolen bikes...
Yeah, seems like it due to the other comments....it's a national past time, so yeah, they ARE good at it.
But if things are SO bad, why buy a motorcycle!?
I have a neighbor that has one but doesn't take it off the condo, where it's safe, my dad doesn't take his bikes out either, outside only with cars, preferably bulletproof, but some people ride these big trail bikes only on trips because of it, and the insurance is rocket high, so usually very wealth people, otherwise just taking an huge risk, you actually see very feel if you walk around São Paulo, but I see them o highways around the country or on the way to the beach, still taking a risk tho, even if it has insurance
Typical BMW rider
wtf is that racket outside?
oh, little timmy stole himself another motorcycle and he's going to wheelie it up and down this street all day until someone shows up to steal it from him
I’m naive to the bike stealing world. How do you get it started and moving if the fork lock is on and you don’t have the key?
a grown man can sit on the bike and turn the forks with all of his might and break the fork lock
What about getting it started?
Don't know about this newer model bmw, but my older model yamaha just needed a flathead and a wire twist nut to hot wire.
I'm guessing my 2005 sportster is a breeze to hotwire.
I also do hotwire , when ever my keys go missing.
I Velcroed one to the bottom of my bike haha.
I have an anti theft toggle switch now.
You can break the steering lock, you can jam a flathead in ignition, doesn't mean you are activating the safety wires... so it won't start without finding it and flipping it.
Give me a break smartass. I thought I was talking to someone who wanted to help. Guess not.
Yeah, guy's an ass, and I would've thought the 1250, of all bikes, would have some sort of immobilizer. Guessing if this is theft, the guy got the key somehow
Thank you. I was very doubtful that you can hotwire a bike like this.
So why the blinking hazards if he had the key?
... because he turned them on?
So these guys have no clue?
Hijack while the moto driver is putting along.
This video is from Argentina and he stole it probably when the owner was riding it, they cut you off with 2 other motorcycles and point a gun to your face
That’s some sleuthing !
I keep seeing videos like this where some favela dude in sandals does daring stunts with brand new bikes. These bikes were probably stolen at gun point. Definitely not visiting brazil anytime soon.
We shot a commercial in Rio and all the cameras (like a few hundred k) were stolen. The following day the production company was invited into the favela to buy it all back.
I was told this story when I was in Río in 1992. Was that you?
Ha! Amazing. I guess if it ain't broke, don't fix it. We were there in 2012 or so.
At that point they could just do the proper mafia thing and ask for protection money rather than waste everyone's time of stealing it
That’s actually what we did the next time. We staged a full on party in the favela with hundreds of extras. No problems at all.
That is not normal. Some employee of yours screwed you over.
Isn't that bike a bit too fancy pants for stunts?
It isn't if you never paid for it in the first place 😉
This guys post videos at Instagram and Tiktok with stolen bikes while a kid go to prison for carrying one joint. This is the core of Brazil my friends. Really sad.
Stolen bike. No plates.
never expected someone to do it on a 1250 gsa but im glad i did.
That lift up is pretty smooth. Without discounting the thieving shit angle of this video, that's a lot of skill on display. No doubt perfected on someone else's bike.
That’s gonna hurt when it falls on him
In flops no less
There are stupid people, then there are these two or three steps down
In fucking sandals…
Can someone show me how to do that 180 move? I want to impress my boyfriend’s dad.
I'm dying.
Turn your head and the bike will follow.
Can confirm, flying my bike now coz I looked at some pigeons above
In thongs!!!!!!
I hate how to be a good wheelie stunter you need to underinflate your tire....
..one hole on the road and this guy will be smashed by the bike.
His mamma must be very proud.
Poor bike
This guy fucks
I realized I will never be as cool as these guys and it has put a damper on my enthusiasm for riding. Then I discovered supermoto and have looped my bikes both directions dozens of times and that keeps it exciting
Stolen police bike?
How TF can I unsee this bs?
Don't ruin the road man!!!! Lol
I pity their riding etiquette but admire their control
Takes alot of skill to handle a machine like this
With flip-flops and shorts on thats some real brains
I wish I had that level of control.
But I pay for and own all my shit and can't risk destroying it in the service of learning to wheelie.
Front main crank bearing seized, don't understand why.
Hell yeah brother.
Some have skills that outweigh their footwear
is that what you call it? ok.
Retard level 100
Where tf do they always get these bikes??
VAI BRAZILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
Never underestimate a foreign Asian man with sandles on a motorbike.
That is Portuguese written on the wall...
This is Brazil.
If you see white flip flops, it's Brazil
nah plenty of countries ride in flip-flops. If you see someone wheelieing an expensive adventure bike in flip flops, however, it's Brazil.
Why isn’t it Portugal?
License plate is not EU. It is Brazilian.
Also the stolen joyridden BMW bike is like a meme in Brazil it's so common.
I'm sorry I'm not knowledgeable in all languages :)
Omg im loving everyone in this comment section. nice bike + South America + wheelie = stolen of course. r/motorcycles!
Yeah, it's actually nuts, people think that anything good here is stolen. the dude on the video is probably a influencer, but no. Brazil = stolen
That's because it is Brazil, and it is stolen.
This post smells like envy
Yes...the thief riding the bike was envious of the owner.
Brazil Zil Zil Zil…..
