Are you serious??
Yup! I let the guy know that I’m serious and will buy it right away if we can lower the price($7500 was his original ask) because some items like tires, fluids and chain needs replacing. I did quick search for all the items and offered $6.2k and eventually settled at $6.5k.
Do all the negotiations in person after you see the bike and not before!
Noted! Thanks!
Btw, it’s also got the top oem storage box.
They're pretty much the same bike. The FJ-09 was launched in 2015. Then in 2019 it was renamed to Tracer 900. At least in North America, but seeing as you're looking at bikes in Denver, this applies.
In 2021 a completely reworked version came out in the Tracer 9. But seeing as that isn't an option, it's not really relevant.
So the questions are:
Are the 8000 miles and 4 years less worth $3000.-?
Why did someone buy a new touring bike in 2019, and then proceed to only drive 250 miles a year on it?
Personally I'd just go with the FJ-09. Cheaper, same bike, and a very low mileage as well.
Very good points. My concern is the 2015 was the first year it came out but may have some kinks that should be ironed out by 2019 one would hope. But man I’m in love with the way it looks more
I'd probably get the 2019. There was some better ecu tuning and suspension changes at least with the MT-09 between the first gen MT09 and second gen MT-09 so I would think they did the same for the Tracers/FJ-09. In fact before they updated to the 2nd Gen MT-09 in 2017, they did the updates to it with the first gen XSR900 in 2016.
Got you! Thanks
For context, exactly an year ago I purchased a 2016 with 12k miles for $6.5k
