What are your miraculous hot takes that will have you end up like this??
Removed - Rule 6Is this a hot take here? Iāve always thought that but I thought more would agree
I wouldn't know, I just said the first thing I haven't heard a lot that I agree with. Sorry about that!
Donāt be sorry I didnāt meant to make it seem like an attack. I was just curious
It didn't feel like an aggressive comment, I say "sorry" and "I know" a lot of the time. I was apologizing because my original comment wasn't a hot take
i forgive you
There are some defensive Alya haters here. I think she's flawed for sure but not a terrible character. The logic of "my friend is ladybug and I know she has it out for this person because of Adrien. I won't believe anything until I see it" makes sense within the show, but not to us because we see everything.
It's not like how Steven Universe was where everything revolved around Steven so we only see his perspective. We see everyone's perspective so it's incredibly obvious to us. Plus the timeline is so whacked out it's hard to tell when something happens.
That's just my take though.
I think you misunderstood the question.
I realized this in a strand with another person
She says all that bs about being a good reporter and yet blindly believes Lilaās lies without any proof.
I liked the S5 ending and how (But I do agree that
Yeah aside from it what's a good finale, it was crazy, and that was cool
I watch the show for the "filler" episodes and generallly prefer the MOTD format.
What is MOTD format
Monster of the day, like Scooby-Doo
Monster-of-the-day. Episodes like Pixelator, for instance, where Hawk Moth akumatizes a victim and the heroes stop the akumatized bad guy as the main plot of the episode.
I know bc of the quote marks that you don't actually mean the word literally.
But I hate that people use "filler" the way you're referencing. A filler episode is one that fills in the schedule until the source material catches up. It's a term coming from anime that catches up with the original manga (which is still being published) and then they have to kill time with stuff the original creator didn't write (that is the filler), and the you have to argue about what is and isn't canon.
Non-story arc isn't the definition of "filler." "Sub-par episodes" isn't the definition of filler.
Filler can actually be some of the best episodes of a show. It just fills in the schedule until the source material catches up and the canon creator can give the show runners new canon material to animate.
Apparently, filler=non canon since ever.
Same I like the seasons as a whole.
Aspik looks perfectly fine. It's a Cowl. You Don't hear people complain about spiderman, captain america, or Simon Baz looking "bald"
I agree, but the reason why people make this complaint is because Cat Noir does have his hair out, while Aspik does not. When there's already a superheroic form with exposed hair, people expect other forms to follow the same pattern.
Then he'd just look like a recolored Mr. Bug
I think it's because the color of aspiks cowl is really light and pale. I thought the fusion of cat noir and the snake miraculous looked way better because the cowl was black
Its also the fact that Vaporeon(idk whats the right spelling lol) has his hair out just like everyone else. Like come on, Aspik and Hawkmoth are the only bald ones and the one we are used to is a villain. The design itself isnt that bad, but its awful in the context
It's Viperion
Looking at it that way, though, it's perfect for the context.
Adrien is trying to become a hero to impress Marinette. He's actively trying to hide any part of himself that would lead to Cat Noir. So that he is concealing a big part of himself and has less than noble reasons is fitting for his costume to have the design it does.
Oh, this is a good one. I've never seen anyone defend his outfit, seen tons of fanworks dragging "baldy," and it never bothered me at all. I thought it was a cool costume.
I've definitely thought that captain America looks weird. Mostly the older costumes, not the newer ones. It could have been impacted by the wing ears, but that's not the point.
It might also have to do with people growing up with those characters, and recognizing them even without knowing the stories. I could recognize the main avengers on sight even years before I tried to watch the movies. And spiderman I knew at like 4.
Zoe and Luka are practically identical characters but Luka is a cute goth boi so no one cares that his only personality is liking Marinette and music.
There's so much potential with him, too. He has had an absent father his whole life, and then one day while being grossly manipulated by a supervillain, he discovers that he's met his father, his girlfriend has worked with his father, and his mother knew all along, and what? Does his dad pay for his sister's (and presumably his before that) tuition to what seems to be a private school for well-off kids (Marinette's parents own a multi-million dollar property and have a high-income business, F-D is definitely an expensive private school)?
ANd then he just simps and simps for a girl who just transparently prefers someone else over him. And not just anyone, one of her best friends who sits right next to her all day, and everyone knows his humiliation, that he's okay with dating someone who puts him second place.
Wait, multi-million dollar?
Zoe being a copy of existing characters is exactly why I don't like her. Why do we need a new "nice girl" archetype when we already have like 5 of them? Why not spend that screentime developing the characters we already know and love who barely get attention?
We were given more time to get to know Luka before he took on larger roles. Zoe jumped in like a self-insert and suddenly becomes more important than most side characters. I agree Luka is kind of bland as a character, but at least his role in the story was handled much better.
People always complained about Adrienette being the most toxic ship of the square, but it's actually the healthiest. Ladynoir is the most toxic out of all of them and it doesn't make any sense to let them date each other under realistic circumstances.
Also derision was set up in season 1 dark cupid.
I go with you on that, I love and prefer LadyNoir but its far from perfect in the series, but I truly loved in the movies.
I think my problem with Adrienette is how they pushed her as the only who understands him, like s4 finale none cared about him leaving Paris except Marinette... I really liked she caring, but why none of his friends at least asked him how he felt about it? I liked them in s5 though, except for the lying part, but maybe she felt it wasn't her right to say. I confess I wouldn't know what to do in her situation, but I think I would tell the truth.
Kagami understands too. But she more abrupt with him because... well because she is Kagami.
I understand the appeal from ladynoir and I also love it Don't get me wrong. I just think the whole "secrecy" stuff, even though it is a huge part of the appeal, makes being with each other long term impossible. They can't share anything about themselves and their struggles and their relationship would always exist in the shadows of their "real lives".
I personally didn't like how Chat Noir handled the rejection in the movie and the message it sent, but I do love the scenes and overall ladynoir dynamic in the movie.
Regarding your problem with Adrienette: I think I see where you are coming from, but I personally interpreted it differently. Marinette has always been the person that Adrien trusted most when it came to "the heavier stuff". She was the first person he ever put effort into being friends with. (Nino kind of just happened). So she was the first friend he actively made. He confided in her before; when he needed help with Kagami or when he needed someone to fix his costume. I don't really think he wanted to confide in anyone about him being uncomfortable leaving Paris, but risk made him so. So while - yes she seems to be his place of comfort and trust - I don't think they wanted to push that agenda. I think part of his character is to believe what his father told him, that he is very Lucky to live such a privileged life and shouldn't complain to others, who are not so lucky. So everyone cheered and thought he was Lucky when it was announced and he didn't want them to think he was weird or ungrateful.
About s5: I personally believe she is scared of seeing him hurt. Look at the blue scarf: objectively she should have told him that it was not his father giving him the gift, but her. But she protected Adrien's feelings because he was so happy to think Gabriel cared. By doing that she also, accidentally, protected Gabriel and sacrificed herself in the process. That is very symbolic for what happened in the finale.
Idk how hot of a take this is but Sabrina finally becoming her own character is my favorite thing the show has done
Chloe deserves to have lost her spot in the team, and Zoe deserves to be the one to take it up.
You could Chuck this take in the freezer and it wouldn't get any colder
Hot is this a hot take. Most of the fandom feels like this.
Not me, but Iām not trying to start something.
This sub is like 75% people who hate Marinette and love Chloe. I've met people here who say Chloe is the real hero of the story and that Marinette is bad. These people actually quit watching the show November 2019 (S3 finale) and still remain here just to insult the show.
But you're right that the fandom is different. This sub is an outlier, and my best guess is that, IME, Reddit is overwhelmingly very different as a polity compared to Discord, Tumblr, etc. Hate seems to be the driving force of this website, while Tumblr is about one-upping each other's gayness, and I say that with all the love in the world for my gay homies.
Well I wouldnāt go that far. As a Chloe fan, even that surprises me.
I wouldnāt call Chloe a hero, but I would say Marinette is bad in a few ways.
Yes. Even though ChlƶƩ is one of my favourite characters, I really have no idea why some fans class her as a hero when sheās clearly not. She could have been a hero with the Bee but sheās now written as a one dimensional bully trope.
I feel like a vast majority of people fall in the middle ground where they would have appreciated a good Chloe redemption arc, but know that it never happened so she can't be Queen Bee as she stands.
I feel like the people who say Chloe is the "real hero" and Mari is bad are the outliers, even in this sub, or just trolls. Yes, Marinette gets a lot of critique in this sub but so do most characters tbh. There are plenty of people who also call out Chat and Alya, as well as Chloe too.
You summed it up really well.
Yes, I do feel like Chloeās redemption arc had potential and I would have loved seeing it complete, I do feel a little sad that itās not happening(or the fact that it was āalmost completeā but psych)
But now knowing that itās not happening, I feel like itās perfectly reasonable for Chloe to be out of the team considering what she did and the position she chooses to stand on.
As somone who was horribly and even primarily bullied on Tumblr, I can safely say hate is dominant there, too.
Boy oh boy do I have something for you
this is like the textbook example for what hot take is not.
I don't hate Marinette šš
I hate how this is an unpopular opinion š
I don't think most people hate her, they just hate how the show treats her like some perfect golden child who is the greatest thing to ever exist. Seriously, Fu literally says she's the best Miraculous holder ever which makes zero sense. She's a child with 7 months of experience being compared to adults with years of formal training. You can say she is strong and smart without making it ridiculous.
Seriously, Fu literally says she's the best Miraculous holder ever which makes zero sense.
Incorrect. He said she's the best Miraculous holder he knew... and he knew very few - only himself and the new heroes. Of these, Marinette is probably really the best... 8)
Anyways
Yeah this is definitely THE hot take on this sub.
THIS ONE right here lawl
I watched a video a while ago, breaking down how Miss Bustier was a terrible teacher, and I was heavily inclined to agree- even though I never noticed the majority of her misdeeds before.
Also, I didn't find the S5 finale that bad. The only thing I disliked was leaving Adrien out of the final battle and him never finding out his father was Hawkmoth- I'm hoping that's something that they correct in S6.
Donāt tell Cyrus the great about the video haha!
Omg, heād go absolutely nuts
My thoughts about Ms Bustier is that she's an inexperienced teacher and it shows with how she handles Chloe.
The Lila expulsion stuff I wave my hands away at bc I'm convinced Lila has a superpower that enables her to manipulate people.
Was it Smarty Pantsās video? That one was the one that really opened my eyes about her haha
I think so.
Lila has a mind-manipulation superpower and so it's not a character problem that everyone believes her.
Andre Glacier has a superpower where he can see soulmate stuff.
Luka has a superpower where he can sense people's emotions.
They're all three metahumans with actual powers like we see from other heroes in the NY special. Majestia, for example, doesn't have a Miraculous. Hot Dog Dan probably does not have a Pigeon Miraculous. etc.
Ok. But I love this. I currently have a theory that Lila is not a teen human because she has so many 'moms". Her being a meta human makes sense!!!
Most of Marinetteās actions give me second-hand embarrassment. Like girl, what are you doing?
Thatās kinda the point, sheās got flaws and she 14 she does embarrassing stuff.
Exactly
Not really a hot take I see alot of people mention this constantly.
Chloe wasn't ruined, she just stayed at a consistent awful.
I donāt actually think Marinette is a horrible character who is extremely infuriating every time she makes a decision I donāt like. Instead actually, I love her character, even when she does frustrating things.
This
I like that instead of Ladybug and Cat Noir officially getting together, we get to see many alternate timelines of how they could discover each other and get together. Itās a fun twist on the romance genre.
Yes I really liked this too. Did people not like that?
Chloe should've kept being Queen bee
Idk if this is a hot take but marinette should not have told alya that shes ladybug, also mr pigeon is the best character
Zoe Does not deserve the bee miraculous
Iām with you
Yes
She got her miraculous in the second or third episode in the show. She is just good and she exists. Cool. At the time, there was no reason to give her bee other than she's Chloe's sister.
Zoe, who accepts the cat miraculous after having months of data of knowing how deadly the task is gonna be? That selfless girl?
Let me guess: Marinette is evil, and Chloe is the most honorable girl in the show.
Zoe is probably the third most deserving holder after Marinette and Adrien. Not even Alya deserves to be one as much bc half of her interest in being a holder is probably bc of her obsession with superheroes. She gets the earrings and spends so much time just trying to think of a badass superhero name instead of doing the job.
I think what the person is trying to say is that Zoe doesnāt deserve the bee miraculous because she is barely a character to begin with. The first time Zoe appears she is seen as the nicer version of Chloe but she had no development whatsoever. She randomly appeared, had a sad backstory that doesnāt really add too her character (She was bullied then decided to change countries for some reason), made friends with everyone in the first episode then became the holder of the bee miraculous in her next episode and both of these episodes just happens to be the episode where Chloe is significantly more worse as if the show is telling the audience to hate her and like Zoe. And in queen banana, everyone is talking about how much better Vesperia is than Queen Bee then in season 5, she is chosen to be the holder of the cat miraculous for no reason. Plagg barely knows who she is and he knew about the other holders but still chose her. If anything, the reason why the poster said Zoe doesnāt deserve the miraculous is because she isnāt really a developed character or a character to begin with. A main reason why people wanted Chloe to be Queen Bee again is because she was a character that was learning to grow and develop into a better person. She was changing her character and yes she was still a brat but you could see that there was still some good in her and changing is a slow process that shouldnāt be rushed and seeing that she was willing to change for her hero, her childhood friend and willing to show that she could be exceptional and not useless like she believed she is was the proof that sometimes people can change for the better and with that storyline, the show could have done a situation where they will compare Chloe to Lila in the sense that Lila doesnāt want to change but Chloe does and it would have made an interesting plot to see how this two characters contrast each other. That is why people liked Chloe but Zoe on the other hand didnāt even do much and she became a holder and people didnāt like it because it was out of nowhere and forced.
Edit: Also, I just remembered that Chloe means blooming or fertility in Greek and bees symbolize fertility, hard-work and prosperity so maybe Zag hinted at Chloeās redemption with her name and the bee miraculous to show that Chloe was going to change but she would have to put hard work to get to that stage and also Zag seems to be very fond of her to the point that thereās a statue of Queen Bee that Jeremy posted on instagram so maybe sheāll appear as Queen Bee in the 2nd movie.
This
Agreed.
I like Lila as a villain and don't think most of her lies are truly unbelievable. I'm only a little sad that it seems like she won't be around as a threat to Marinette and Adrien as civilians anymore.
That said, I would have appreciated it if they kept the deleted scene where Alya and the rest of the class apologized to Marinette for believing Lila.
Cerise enrolled at Miss Bustier's new school. Who says she won't be around as a threat to Marinette and Adrien?
That is fair. I wonder how they're gonna play it, though. Cherise dropping the wig and changing makeup can fool some people but I don't know much that can stand up to close scrutiny. Still, I'm excited to see how it plays out.
Well, we know that Cerise made the call but with no video. It could be Iris that enrolls at the school or another alias we haven't seen yet. In that case, the disguise will hold up much better under scrutiny.
At this point, Cerise knows how to deal with Marinette. I'm imagining her being much more insidious next season. She definitely won't go in guns blazing; she knows not to start telling huge lies about who she knows and what-not. I'm hoping she actually befriends Marinette and uses that to plant seeds of distrust.
Lol making up random diseases that don't exist, pretending a napkin can take out your eye, and having multiple identities and mothers is believable?
Not to mention the fact that she literally told the principal she has a disease that makes her lie, and somehow people still trust her? She literally admitted she lied!! Ignoring the fact that the disease is BS, she also made dozens of fake promises about her famous connections that she obviously never followed through on. Apparently the class conveniently forgot instead of realizing she lied?
You can still like her as a villain, but her lies are absolutely ridiculous and she relies heavily on plot armor.
I mean, Mythomania does exist. I don't think she has it, or at least she doesn't have just that since most pathological liars are more harmless than her. But, the disease is real.
The napkin one is a bit too far, even for me. I will only note that the point of it was to make Marinette look like a bully, which made the others want to take her side. This is the crux of the issue that makes me see Lila differently: in-universe vs. out-of-universe.
Out-of-universe means what we as the audience know because we are people in the real world viewing a work of fiction. For example, that's why we knew Gabriel Agreste was Hawk Moth from Collector onwards but Adrien still doesn't know that. In-universe is what characters know from their perspective as people in the fictional world. Fictional worlds have their own logic and rules that may not always align with reality.
Out-of-universe, we knew from her first episode that Lila is a liar. Marinette and Adrien know, too, because of their experiences with her as Ladybug and Cat Noir. The issue is that they can't tell people why they're so predisposed to think she's lying. Lila herself even points out in Chameleon that she has done anything to Marinette and they have no reason to fight. And that's true at that point because Lila hadn't done anything to Marinette as Marinette. This is why her lies in Chameleon are laughable to us irl but may not seem that way in-universe.
What I've noticed about the Miraculous world is that most people are either kind, honest, and selfless or they are openly mean, petty, and/or evil. People like ChloƩ are proud to be selfish brats (at least outwardly) and Hawk Moth calls himself a villain. Lila is really the first person to try to fool people into thinking she's a kind and caring person but is secretly evil and manipulative. So, to her classmates sans Marinette and Adrien, Lila is a good person. Marinette going ballistic on her makes Marinette seem like a bully. Lila even says that she doesn't really try to convince people with logic but with emotions. Seeing Marinette be angry and mean to Lila who pretends to be sweet and generous isn't a good look for Marinette and can prejudice the others into taking Lila's side.
The way Lila worded the promises, iirc, is that she could talk to her connections, not that she will or has. Having famous connections isn't in and of itself unbelievable for the kids of FranƧois Dupont High School either. The class has the daughter of the mayor and one of the most famous teen models in Paris, the capital of fashion. Marinette has also designed the album cover for the #1 rock star in the world. Alya's mom is the head chef of one of the biggest restaurants in Paris, which is owned by the mayor. Juleka turns out to be the daughter of said #1 rock star but I'll admit that was a secret even to her until S4. Point is that Lila knowing famous people as the daughter of a diplomat isn't that absurd in context.
I'll admit the multiple mothers thing is absolutely wild and I'll morbidly curious to see where they'll go with it. I'm kind of worried that it's just jumping the shark with her.
I don't necessarily think it's one single lie that makes her ridiculous, it's everything combined. Not to mention that she constantly humble brags while simultaneously playing victim in every single situation. The fact that someone like that is popular is ridiculous in and of itself. And most schools I know require doctor's notes to get accommodations from school if you have a disease.
Just to clarify, I'm not saying it's strange for her to have connections, but we knew she was lying so she obviously did not follow through on any of those promises. At that point, every single person in the class should have become more wary of her/lost some trust in her. And yet, they all conveniently forgot about the promises and continue to worship her. This is in addition to everything else that proved she was a shady person.
Yes, initially, it's not weird for the class to be on Lila's side over Marinette. However, literally everything Lila does after that should have raised some suspicion well before S5. The fact that Lila relies on plot conveniences like that is why I think she makes a terrible villain.
My point about the classmates is that, since almost everyone is nice and welcoming, they're going to react to her in the nicest way possible. After all, the bad people tend to openly announce how bad they are, so why not take Lila at her word? The only time she really went too far was in Ladybug and she did take it back.
The combination of lies is actually point in her favor, imo. Even in the real world, many people are not prepared for someone to lie about absolutely everything. TVtropes might call it refugee in audacity. It's easy to believe someone can lie about a few small things or even one big thing. It's harder to believe that someone is a wholly constructed persona built on a mountain of lies, big and small. Even I didn't see the Cherise thing coming, for example.
The best example, though, is Ladybug. I loved her plan in that episode specifically because she went all in. Just using one lie, especially with Marinette's sterling reputation, wouldn't have worked. Throwing in three major lies all in quick succession was the right call. It unbalanced people to the point where they couldn't focus on just one lie. (That said, I will note that the real goal was always Akumatization, so it didn't need to work for long. It just had to work for long enough.)
Honestly, the closest person I can think of being a plot hole is ChloƩ, funnily enough. She isn't the type to believe the best in people and she hates competitors for Adrien. Lila must be more subtle about her supposed crush on Adrien for ChloƩ to not make a stink about it. I guess Lila could have lied to her offscreen, but that is less satisfying.
Felix should remain a villain.
I hate the sentimonster theory with a passion, and you cannot convince me that it doesn't outright ruin Adrien's character.
I didn't like the movie š
Lowkey like it wasnāt soooo amazing like ppl make it seem. It was really decent. The different singing voices threw me off, and I hate the way Adrien looks like heās 12š
The singing really threw me off! And I wish Gabriel was more evil and daunting as a villain. Also Marinette was definitely more meek, and I didn't care to listen to her sing 3 different songs about being shy š They could have filled that time with more exposition.
I would have enjoyed the movie more if they had let Cristina be the singing voice for Mari.
The show should have gave us more on Gabriel life and Adrian not Marinette trying to ask a boy out for ice cream
Right!? Like I wanna know about yhe truma child not the baker
I love Marinette but yes I wish instead of the many failed attempts we had of Marinette trying to ask Adrien out, we wouldāve gotten more of a backstory about Gabriel, Emile, Adrien, Nathalie, Felix & Amelie (well basically the Agreste/Graham de Vanily family) maybe we finally will in s6? š
Sentimonster theory is bunk, Felix is a punk, and whatever his little plotline in Season 5 is only serves as justification for why Adrien doesn't do anything in the finale.
When you say punk, do you mean the subculture or something else?
I mean he's a loser, his arc has the opposite problem to Chloe's (poorly written "ascension to hero" compared to Chloe's poorly written descent into evil), and he didn't just steal the rings or the Miraculous, he stole a pretty important piece of Adrien's arc by """"confirming"""" the sentimonster theory (in quotations bc I still think it's full of crap).
He's nowhere near the actual punk subculture, those guys would've rightfully eaten him alive.
Ah. I haven't seen that part yet, I'm only partway through season 4. Thank you for clarifying!
Gabriel hard carried the show because he was the only actual villain. I have little to no faith in the walking identity fraud.
YES!! Also the fact that he was the father of the main character was one of the most interesting parts of the story (that they chose to completely ignore smh). Like why tf are we supposed to care about Lila as a villain?
I like Lila as a villain
I like Zoe as a character
I don't believe Andre deserves so much hate
I don't believe Ms. Bustier is a bad teacher
Chloe was clearly getting a redemption arc in season 2 and she deserved to get it
If you don't believe in SentiAdrien you have bad media literacy
(Sorry if I insult you in any way)
I liked Aspiks baldcap design. Was quite new and fresh.
I liked it too
Lila is amazing and I can't wait to see all the mischief, chaos and drama she will cause in the future.
I think itās fine that Chloeās redemption arc was scraped(or didnāt exist whatever floats your boat) thereās nothing wrong with liking a villain. Itās ok to like characters that arenāt morally good(I mean look at all the Felix fans out there).I love Chloeās character bc itās complex and gray(at least to me) Ik we probably wonāt see anything good come from her going forward but I love the idea of a villain Chloe!
Show Adrien is better than movie Adrien who has way less personality. The story would have been better if kept up with Chloe through Queen Bee becoming a good person. Zoe is a boring cop out. Lila is the shittiest character she's just evil and everything to a ridiculous degree and for no reason and it's to the point she has multiple identities?? Its so impossible and not realistic and she's gonna be a shitty hawkmoth and is probably going to be hawkmoth until the show ends which keeping the butterfly miraculous as the BBEG is a bad choice I'd rather see them mix it up.
I donāt like Zoe or Luka
Can I ask why?
I find them both boring and bland with not much character
Alya and really everyone else in the class were completely in the right to believe Lila and call Marinette out the first time. This is not the case when it happened the second time (at which point Alya both knew who Marinette was and had held the Ladybug Miraculous herself for some time).
Marichat is better than all the ships.
Adrienette is good but so is Lukanette
Luka was actually a better boyfriend FOR Marinette when they were dating. The first time I watched it I hated she and Adrien had another love interest but after rewatching Luka balanced Marinette perfectly
I think the show didn't do a good job of portraying Adrienette in their dating phase so I agree. Luka's calmness balanced out her chaotic energy as you've said, and the sad thing is they could've done the same with Adrien, seeing as he's a pretty chill and positive guy. But they didn't? We never actually got to see much of them having deep meaningful conversations and calm moments like most couples have, so it left the impression that Luka was the healthier option for her. I don't think this would've been an issue if literally any other relationship in the lovesquare became canon, especially Marichat or Ladynoir seeing as they've both had those moments more often.
100%
I honestly like lila as a character
Chloe got what was coming for her.
Zoe is a good character. Every reason given for hating her so far is stupid.
Movie is better then the series because they treated Adrian with more respect and all the extra miraculous ruined the show
Chloe should be redeemedĀ
I donāt like Natalie
I actually wanted to see more of Ladrienš¤·š¾āāļøšLike at first I KNOWWWW, their ship is tooo perfect cause theyāre both infatuated with each other in S1-S3 ish.
But now that weāre in S5 we havenāt seen any of it in a while, I kinda want to see how theyāll react to each other in this way now that Marichat has been a thing, and Adrianette is official.
ME STILL LIKING CHOLE BESIDE ALL THE STUFF SHE DID.
Marinette is the only likeable character in the show.
This one wins for being the hottest take here. She's one of the least likeable characters to most people on this sub (including me)
I think Adrien doesn't deserve to be with Marinette, because he constantly defends Chloe's shitty behaviour.
He constantly defends Chloe's behavior? I don't remember a single part where he outright defends Chloe's actions...
Tbh I think it's the opposite. Adrien deserves better than an obsessive stalker who, for most of the show, likes him for how "perfect" he is. She barely treats him like a person as a result. Cat Noir is who Adrien truly is without his father's restrictions, but Marinette took a long time to actually appreciate the REAL side of him... or even treat him decently.
Chloe didnāt actually have a redemption arc that they claimed the show ruined š«£
Zoe is a completely fine character and Andre gets way too much flack for Chloe's upbringing. I feel like as someone with Audrey as the mother of his child, being a mayor, AND hotel owner he did what he could even though he still made quite a few questionable decisions. I do love his relationship with Zoe though it's so cute ā¤ļø
Zoe is overrated
I like Lilaās character a lot, sheās actually one of my favs. Sheās so well-written, so interestingā¦ The way she manipulated the whole school, and even women to think sheās their daughter, incredible. Sheās so smart and idk sheās just great.
ZOE RULEZ, Chloe Sucks!!!
It was fine for Adrien/CN to sit out in the finals. He didn't trust himself to use his powers (due to the nightmares) and there was no guarantee that Ladybug could fix everything. It was the responsible choice.
I half agree. Where his character ended up, in terms of confidence, development, and what Ladybug allowed him to know, I don't think the Adrien we got at the end of S5 could have handled that fight.
That said, I think that's a huge failing on the writers' part, and a direct side effect of statements that have been made about how it's Marinette's show, and how giving Adrien more to do would be undermining her strength as a leader. They set up a conflict of Cat Noir/Adrien eventually having to confront Hawkmoth/Gabriel, and then didn't give him the needed development to fulfill that narrative promise.
Basic writing tips generally advise agaonst settings up things like that and then not only failing to follow through, but trying to justify why you didn't. Like, my brothers in Christ, you wrote the character and chose not to give them the tools to handle the thematic conflict you set up for them.
Adrien as a character in-verse was right to sit the fight out. Adrien as a fictional character in a wider story should have been there, and I'm hopefully but not optimistic that S6 will make good on the narrative promises of the Agreste Arc in some other way.
also his emotional arc was standing up to his father, which he did two episodes before the finale; his father was his enemy
Hawkmoth was basically someone he was excited to get to fight, practically a sports opponent in contrast to his evil father
The show isn't very good. Tbh.
Anyways
Kwami's Choice is easily worse than The Final Day, even with Final Day's ending.
Christmaster isnāt as bad as everyone says it is.
FĆ©ligami is the worst ship.
Reflekdoll is the worst episode of season 3, and nothing even comes close.
Kwamibuster gets too much love and is just one of the worst episodes of the season.
Iām actually glad someone dislikes Reflekdoll and Kwamiās choice. Those two episodes are one of my worst in the series. Reflekdoll had a great concept and switching their miraculous but the fact that Adrien is a stupid fool with the ladybug miraculous while Marinette was absolutely perfect for no reason made me dislike the episode and Kwamiās choice was just stupid because why would the heroes that have been doing their jobs for months suddenly give up saving Paris because of their love lives. Monarch had almost all the miraculous and thatās the time you want to give up as superheroes and allow rookies that have no experience take over? That episode was so stupid and I donāt think anyone can change my mind about it.
Adrien x marinette isnāt a good or healthy ship
How?
We don't need Viperion, and Bunnyx as heroes. Both miraculous mess with time
Itās absurd that the team consists of kids which means that kids are in charge to protect everyone on their own. It wouldāve been more useful to give miraculous to adults so they would have full capacity with their powers.
My dude it started off as a kids show. Thereās a reason itās kids with the miraculous
Iām pretty sure itās still a kids show. I mean itās not anything less tame than disney princess movies.
Nino is a character I despise. He critically lacks in the writing room and was especially terrible season 4 and 5.
Honestly yeah. I think s2 was his best season sadly
There is no episode order.
S5 was never meant to be the last season.
Felix was never a villain. At best, he was a chaotic neutral.
Ladybug and Chat Noir were forced to rely on each other as the only heroes and it makes sense that she would tell Alya before him.
That master fu is worse than hawkmoth
My hot takes are that I actually like the show. I absolutely love Marinette. I think the writers are doing a phenomenal job. Majority of the complaints about the show make zero sense. Crazy Chloe stans are mean girls just like her. That project her storyline onto they're own lives. Which is why they dont like her facing consequences for her actions. This is the same reason they bully Marinette just like she does. And if you don't like how Thomas Astruct deals with people then stay off his Twitter page.
Stormy Weather 2 is the best episode ever produced
Thereās absolutely 0 reason for ladybug to be a better fighter than cat noir.
I donāt like the the first kiss that Adrien and marionette shared without having their memory wiped. (Marichat kiss in frozer 2.0) It felt impulsive.
Chloe was a good character. Zag Did her Dirty when she tried to improve on herself in season 2 just making her hate ladybug right after. And ZOE IS TRASHHHH!!! Queen Bee > Whatever the f*ck Zoe's superhero name was
Adrien knows Marinette is LB already though she is totally out to lunch
Alya and Nino suck as friends and don't deserve a miraculous. Adrien being a sentibeing theory is stupid and dumb and weird and really insensitive towards children in his shoes. Marinette is not creepy or a stalker, she is a girl in love who pays attention to what her crush does. Like any girl her age would do.
I agree with most of this but itās not a theory itās canon now and whether you like it or not itās a truth thatās been building up for at least the last two seasons
It's ""canon"". It's heavily hinted but it has never been outright stated that Adrien was a sentibeing. Nor did they with Kagami or Felix. But it's never stated "Adrien is a sentibeing".
Yes there was the story and the ring and the other ""proof"", but 100% confirmed canon? No
Yes it is. If you didnāt get that from Felixās story or the fact that Gabriel stopped him from kissing Marinette despite adrien not being able to see or hear his father, then clearly you are media illiterate.
If you keep downvoting me everyone it just makes me sad to see how many people are media illiterate and cant understand that not everything thatās canon has to be outright stated be a character. Itās called picking up on the most obvious clues and the in your face facts and understanding what those things mean.
It shouldnāt be 10 seasons long (if it is), I reckon like 8 max
Honestly I feel like 3 seasons, 4 maximum was more than enough for them to tell a good story.
Maybe after they could add spin-offs with the New York team or whatever but for me, the Agreste storyline was the whole point of the show, which easily could have been wrapped up in 3 seasons.
Yeah Fr 1-3 nothing happened!! Without those I think 3-5 then but ig they want more money lol
Alya isnāt that great of a friend (of course, I blame that on the writing)
Judging by some recent reactions, my "Chat Noir is actually not a main character in the show because he's not treated as one" take is hotter than I realized.
Lila is a badly written character, She makes character dumber around her, she is """smart""" But only when she makes everybody have the iq of a ant, She looks ugly, She is going to be so annoying when she becomes hankmoth
Oh, y'all are gonna come after me for this hot take. Miraculous Ladybug is basically a rip-off of Shugo Chara!
I mean It's not secret that MLB was definitely inspired by eastern and western super hero/ magical girl influences.
Adrienetteās time is over. Now itās the time for Zoenette and Kagaminette
Definitely not happening.
bro wtf itās time for kagelix (Felix and kagami) and zuka
There is no indication that Zoe is bi.
At most probably Zoe x Sabrina
Sabrina finna pull a Kagami and date the clone of her crush
bro wtf itās time for kagelix (Felix and kagami) and zuka
I think it's a bit funny that Adrien once saw Kagami and thought she was Ladybug (and so by extension Marinette)
and many people see Felix and think it's Adrien
so Felix and Kagami are sort of dating the Great Value version of Marinette and Adrien
Zoe and Luka arenāt going to be together. Iād say Zoe and Sabrina would be better
The writing got kind of lazy and I lost interest in the show. I want to finish season 5 but I've felt so let down. I know it's a kids show but I felt it had a lot of potential.
Luka was just there to prolong the love square getting together and I hated every second he was on screen until season 5 when he left.
Iām not sure if this is a hot take, but Ladybugās base costume design is trash. Even the ascended version is rather meh. Too bad she canāt be Bug Noir all the time cause that look is fire.
I don't like adrien (and I don't care about luka)
Count your days
All of āCat Noir Once Saidā Fan Dubs
Mari is an obsessive stalker Lila should have never been a character Chole is irredeemable Felix & his mom are model cop-outs (You can have twins and cusions who look the same without being the EXACT same) Sabrina is kinda a useless character Wtf even is Kim Chat Noir is best character Luka is too pure for any of these bozos and should date Chat Noir
This (I think) is not a hot take but: there are so many things that could have been much better if the writing/episodes order wasn't so inconsistent and/or rushed
I'm am totally ok with chole not getting the bee miraculous back.
Zoenette is better than Adrienette
Hot take for sureeee

Alya was definitely in the wrong when believing Lila, it kinda ruined her for me even though she's still my favorite, like didn't you say you were gonna be an amazing reporter and uncover the truth?
