Just got gas for $1.93 a Gallon In Texas
Removed: Rule 5What are you paying
I got 4.49 near me in LA. That’s cheap though. Seen it over $6 in some areas.
Yep. Costco Torrance is at $4.26 right now.
Weirdly enough, the gas station closest to the Torrance Refinery is at $4.90.
I’ve seen over $6 in Hollywood though.
As someone in the logistics industry, I bet you that refinery doesn’t even supply the gas station closest 😂
I used to work at a Russel Stover Candies production facility with an attached storefront. The candy we made in the factory did not directly supply the storefront, because our product went to another location to ensure 2 months or so of quality control before it got shipped to retail. The retail store was stocked by that QC facility, which may or may not include our product.
Paid a hair over $4 at Costco, but in SF Bay (Redwood City). My ritual is to take my car and 20 gallons worth of jerry cans for my motorcycle. That way I only visit Costco for gas and shopping once every 4-6 weeks and make my time worth it there
Just so you guys know the price disparity is mainly due to tax , although it's refined in Texas that can only account for about .25 cents per gallon difference.
California adds .51 tax per gallon
Girl in Burbank last quoted me close to 6 by her. Ohio where I'm at is looking at between 3 to 4
Under 3 in ky.
5.19 for 91 just now near ocean in Central Ca
$4.19 is the cheapest in Orange County.
$3.91 here in the Bay Area.
I paid $7.03 for a couple gallons in furnace creek, death valley, CA
Cries in British (if I've converted it correctly it's $7 a US gallon here)
Cries in swedish, about 7$ here aswell but that is cheap, down from 9$
Yes, there's 60 cents difference between gas taxes, that doesn't explain the $4.65 I paid this week!
Yes, but the trade-off is that you have to be in Texas.
That's bad.
But it comes with free frogurt.
That’s good.
The forgurt is also cursed.
And it’s made in Fromunda, Texas.
That’s bad…
Can I just have my gas now?
The gas is also cursed.
That’s bad.
The Frogurt is also manufactured in Texas.
That’s bad.
But you get your choice of topping!
That’s good.
The toppings contain ingredients known to the state of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.
...That's bad.
awkward silence
Can I go now?
That warning seems serious and unique....I'm concerned.
Good thing I'm not in California!
The cancer means you spend less time in Texas.
The Forgurt is also cursed. But you get your free choice of topping!
And a gun.
Ok seriously asking…..what’s wrong with Texas? I was in Dallas the other week and everything was cheap. The food was good and worth the price. Gas was surprisingly cheap. So I’m curious why you think Texas is bad?
Update: per all the Texan’s commenting about their current experience in Texas. I too have joined the dark side. Me no show love for Texas no more.
Well for another thing, All my exes live in Texas
Also, the stars are bright, late at night
👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 deep in the heart of Texas! RIP PWH
George has spoken.
I lived in Dallas for four years and I found the city and especially the food to be great, but the heat in the summers became too much for me. Those long summer days are the times I want to be outside the most, not moving between air conditioned point A and air conditioned point B until late October. However this was before the Roe overturn and the heartbeat bill.
Texas is top rated for businesses at the expense of the worker. It used to be (possibly) worth the trade off with a low cost of living but it isn’t low any more. Texas is rated dead last in personal freedoms by conservative think tank, the Cato Institute. Finally, State and local politics are a shit show.
(lived in Austin for 20 years and DFW for 5. We gave up last year and fled to Massachusetts.)
Texas is rated dead last in personal freedoms
I’ve lived in Texas for 8 years and I think it’s so funny that Texas is all about “come and take it, it’s my property so I get to make the rules” and yet it’s always felt like everyone here also votes for the most restrictive policies
It’s one of the reasons we gave up. Once the legislature started passing performative laws restricting what State Universities can do, I bailed. Many of my former colleagues are leaving for other universities as well.
Good luck out there sweatypopsicles.
Me too, I was born and raised in Dallas TX and just moved my family and I to Massachusetts 3 years ago. I don’t follow politics and I’m typically a home body, I just had enough of the heat. I’m trying to convince my dad to move up here, I offered a place to stay but he’s not biting.
We ended up in western Massachusetts and love it here. I was a bit concerned about the weather but it really hasn’t been bad at all once we got the correct coats and boots.
It’s been an amazing quality of life upgrade.
I agree, we moved to north east Massachusetts on the NH border. Better way of life and more income, plus I can handle the cold more than the blistering heat. You can always layer enough clothes to say warm but never remove enough clothes to stay cool, you can be butt naked and still die from the heat.
We gave up last year and fled to Massachusetts
🎵 HI-HO, HI-HO, TO WORCESTER WE GO 🎵 lol jk
I've lived in Texas most my life and am staying, but basically to keep casting my blue vote and fighting for it to go purple, because I still believe it's possible.
I used to love living here when the GOP was still "manageable", before they went full pants-on-head insane. I'm still hoping we can turn it around, but a lot of my friends have moved to other states recently and I absolutely cannot blame them (especially women).
A lot of the day-to-day stuff in Texas is still enjoyable, and it still has the best BBQ anywhere (fight me), but the politics are completely fucked and you can only ignore how those policies trickle down for so long before it comes down right on your head.
Probably people who have never been to the state and think it’s all yeehaw and guns. The cities are so different than rural Texas and are pretty nice
Ive been to Texas and it's so fucking hot you can't walk anywhere and the tolls are ridiculous $20 for 20 miles outside Dallas. It has nice bits but it's mostly just highway.
My 15 mile one way commute to work (Ft Worth suburb to suburb) has cost anywhere from $27 to $53 via the toll road. It’s a 20 min trip on the toll road vs minimum 50 min trip on the “free”way.
Wait, is that per day? That’s the cost of a decent meal out every day to save 30 mins drive time (sometimes more). Each way. Sounds like a miserable drive though.
No that’s per trip. I only take the toll way because I have a company tag as part of my compensation package- I wouldn’t be able to afford it otherwise.
lol wtf that’s insane.
I live in Dallas, don't sugar coat it, Houston and Dallas are probably the worst planned cities in America.
Yes, but the cities still have to live with the gerrymandered-to-hell republican controlled government. I love my little corner of texas but I would give anything for the politics of this place to be radically different.
The trouble with Texas is that it’s full of Texans.
what’s wrong with Texas?
Quite a number of issues, though for me one of the major ones would be that around half of Texans don't have bodily autonomy anymore.
To me it's not necessarily the people cuzz they're annoying everywhere I go, it's the dam weather!
In the winter it's too hot. In the summer it's even hotter.
- Me, from northern Alberta
At least, that was my experience with Texas.
I love Texas but goddamn they like to fight there. I wouldn’t mind less fistfights.
Less poop on the ground :)
That’s a plus
Yes Texas very bad. Now stop moving here.
Where is the Joe Biden sticker now?
Ha ha. That’s our Cali tax. If you can’t afford it then you don’t live here.
Ha! $3.54 in Massachusetts. Guess not everything's bigger in Texas
Just trucks
Lol Trust me once youve seen our streets you'll understand why many of us prefer smaller vehicles
I drive a sedan. Easier to control. I dont like high riding.
... have you, like, BEEN to Massachusetts? i man, it's not 0, but "many" seems like a reach.
also, death to suvs. oh, and whoever popularized those fucking laser-beam-ass headlights
Blame the US government for banning the anti-blinding tech on those laser headlights
In Europe the cars scan oncoming traffic and turn off the light beam precisely where it would hit an oncoming driver
A lot of newer vehicles here still have that though, not anything to do with the government. Its the older vehicles that hillbillies purposely customize to have super bright high-pointing lights just because they can
Ahh I thought you meant literal laser headlights lol, like on Audis
Yeah the people who retrofit their headlights are usually putting LED bulbs in a reflector halogen housing. So the beam can’t be directed as precisely, and so it blinds all oncoming traffic
Really? I paid 3.09 in southern MA. a few hours ago.
North of Boston on Rt 1 southbound: $2.99
3.54 in mass?? i’m getting 2.85
$2.90 today at the W. Springfield Costco.
I got $3.00 here the other day
I’ve seen $3.19 in central MA
Believe it or not, I’m paying 2.97 at a place north of the city
Drove by $3.00 tonight in Mass
$3.11 near me, up Rt 2 in the middle of the state.
Western mass is around 3 bucks and some spots under 3
3.09 for me in MA
Bigger savings.
For people wondering, this is probably the circle K deal that’s happening today from 4-7pm where gas is 40-50c cheaper than the regular price. Gas is still cheaper here in Texas but you’re looking at around 2.40 instead.
https://www.valleycentral.com/news/local-news/enjoy-savings-on-circle-k-fuel-day-pop-up/amp/
Yeah. Thats what the employee told me. Who was pumping gas in front of me
What?! I'm out in FW when did circle K start doing this?
I just looked it up. It’s called “Circle K Day” and the day varies depending on your region. The amount of savings also varies.
I checked their site but the day has passed for me. Which means, you prob have to check periodically to see when it is next year. If you’re like me, you’ll 100% forget this whole entire thing and act surprised when it gets posted about next year.
It's only 1 day per year?!
Stop by Albertsons/Tom Thumb or Kroger on 4X days.
Buy your groceries and some gift cards for Amazon/Spotify/Netflix/Your fav restaurants totaling to $250.
Go get your gas before the next calendar month ends
You can fill up to 30 gallons at $1/gal discount. "Two car one pump" or a big truck what flavor you like.
But they got gas at a Valero not a circle k?
Circle K has Valero as their supplier
Circle K bought Valero gas station awhile back, they changed the store name and everything but left the Valero part on the outside gas pumps. Valero still operates and owns the gas part for those places they bought out.
Do you still see those Biden "I did that" stickers?
I think i saw one but can't remember where
Definitely at QT, only place I ever saw one. Imagine spending money on a sticker for a political jab
I’m sure the trump supporter tore them off once gas went down /s
That’s way too close to acknowledging they were wrong…
Same a-holes that put them on took them off. Gotta maintain that false narrative!:
Bill Clinton was going to destroy America.
Al Gore was going to destroy America.
Barack Obama was going to destroy America.
Hillary Clinton was going to destroy America.
Joe Biden was going to destroy America.
Why have the liberals failed so hard at destroying America?! /s
I'll never forgive biden for replacing the diet coke button on the oval office desk with a "gas prices" dial and cranking it to the max on january 20th. So disrespectful.
trumpies when prices go up: "Look at how Biden is hurting hard-working Americans by jacking up the price of gas! He's killing the 'Murican family!:
trumpies when prices go down: "How DARE Biden put the jobs of hundreds of thousands of hard-working oil and gas workers at risk! He's purposefully DESTROYING the lives of the 'Muricans!"
Edit to add: trumpies when the price remains exactly the same: "Why is Sleepy Joe hiding in his basement, doing nothing?"
I’m always surprised how trump supporters keep track of the narrative .. tripping over themselves whenever things switch back and forth.
Fair enough
Saw one earlier at Walmart in ATX lmao
I’d like to get some of those stickers for situations like this
Why would he do this!?
I suddenly want to buy a few dozen of those stickers to use when gas goes down
Did you have a discount? None of those prices are under $2
Yeah. When i pulled behind an employee. They were getting gas. After she was done, she came up to my window asked if i got a gas card. I said no and she handed me one and said use it for today only for 10 cents off. I was at half a tank. When i saw the price i couldn't pass it up.
Fucking Biden! What’s next? I can see a doctor? Where does it end??
With retirement on a livable income!?
That's not MY America.
Lol, that gave me a good chuckle.
As someone with long covid giving away his life savings to doctors, I'd sure like to be able to affordably see doctors.
"Its only 1% fatality rate" ~sith dealing in absolutes
Fatality 1%
BRUTALITY 10%
But where all the "Biden did that" stickers now 🤔
Wait, where is the "I did this" sticker??
Should’ve slapped one of those Biden “I did that” stickers on it.
No you don’t get it it’s only his fault when it’s high. Trump is working behind the scenes digging and refining oil by hand to lower prices. I saw him.
No shirt on, six pack abs, 6 fingers on each hand.
It is kinda cool that he has a red dial on his desk to raise or lower the price of gas at will, tbf.
It’s not spray tan, it’s clay stains
It’s the Texas way
Thanks Biden!
Let’s go Brandon?
Where are the I did that! stickers now?
In the mail right now. Being delivered on Sunday
Thanks Obama
Sweet, how's that electrical grid doin this winter?
Should start stocking up on thrift store furniture just in case
Stock up on toilet paper. It will do something
Stock up on cheap gasoline to burn when your heat cuts out.
We’re talking about burning things to help you not freeze, TP isn’t going to help you then. maybe you can find somewhere with free books…
Kindling to start the furniture fire.
High tomorrow is 80. help
There's a good chance El Nino will give Texas a break this year, of course that means all the idiots will start yelling about how well the system is working and how climate change is a lie
Where’s the Joe Biden did that sticker?
Thanks Joe Biden.
"I did that"
Damn, we pay that much per litre here in Europe.. (€8-9 per gallon)
I get gas from a 59 cent can of beans from Wal-Mart.
Well yeah it’s Texas you don’t have to ship it far lol
True
Texas rules.
Ya fuggin dweebz.
Don’t tell CA
Thanks Obama.
Screams in New Zealand NZ2.85/Ltr = US6.64/Gal
roughly $6.05/Gal where I am in scotland 🥲 and that’s the cheapest it’s been for a while.
Biden did that.
Now do interest rates!
3.09 Long Island NY . And I was excited 🙄
You can use Gas Buddy to find cheap gas:
What am i missing? It says that regular costs $2.029 on the pump
3.09 for 87 in wilmington nc its been up and down alot lately
$2.39 in NE OK
$2.47 in North East Arkansas.
The last time I saw gas prices like that was around the start of the invasion of Iraq. I started driving just before 9/11 so I vaguely remember $1/gallon.
That is cheaper than what we pay per litre here in Australia.
Almost 3 bucks a litre (0.264 gallons) in Australia
Biden did this?
Joe Biden did this?
Waiting for those “I did that stickers” to start showing up. I mean logic says if it’s all Biden’s fault gas went up, they should be his fault if prices go down…
Unfortunately the Saudis have already started pulling back production so the price will be back up again for the alt right to blame Biden for whe the election hits.
Strange how those “I did that” stickers are hard to find now.
Are you going to thank Biden?
Where's the Thanks Biden stickers now??
In case people are wondering, that is 0.472 euro per litre.
I think my granddad talked about prices like this. You pay just shy per gallon what I paid per litre the other day.
I must wonder if this is related to the fact that Texas had one of the lowest literacy rates in the nation (along with California, Florida, and New York)?
It is 2 euros for a litre here so something like 8 dollars per gallon. Enjoy your prices.
But you had to go to or live in Texas. So yea not a total win
I thought Biden controlled the gas prices though? So I guess he favors Texas.
Is Biden being blamed for this, too? /s
