After 2 weeks in the box they (이화곡) came up pretty good.

Some fault lines from where I was working out how to best use the mold a friend made for me to help press them. The black mould got into them along these faults again but the source of the mould may have been identified (see 2nd last picture). I used and old wooden chopping board that I heat treated in the oven but the pine needles possibly introduced the right moulds that could flourish on the timber. That said all of the moulds appear to have colonised the timber (see last picture).

Batch number 1 is ready now for its first batch of 막걸리! Just need to find an appropriate fermentation vessel.

In the meantime I'll prepare some information about my set-up.
