I’m getting tired of only eating spicy soppressata sandwiches from Alimentari…is there a better (or comparable) sandwich in Madison?

Has anyone felt a weird discriminatory vibe in this restaurant? I went in today with my family, and it felt like they didn’t want to serve us… it was like 20% full, and 3 servers were talking to the host (It seemed like they weren't busy?), and the hostess said it would take a 30-40 minute wait. Kind of expecting us to say no thank you and leave.. we were coming from the Reddan soccer tournament so we were tired and just wanted to eat…. So we waited. However, they sat another table that came in after us so we stood up and left…. Is anyone else with a similar experience?

I'm not talking about a valet. I mean the guy who sits in the booth at a city lot and raises the gate when you pay the fee. A few nights ago I was exiting a ramp and bypassed the auto ticket reader as there was a sign saying "Attendant On Duty". My wife gave me a $20 to pay. The guy counted out the change staring right at me as if he was expecting me to say "keep it". I didn't but It has me wondering if others let them do so as a tip.

I’m trying to get back into it after not skating for 2-3 years. But it is always more enjoyable with others. Are there any older skaters out there? I’m in my 30s myself

Looking for a contractor with adu / tiny home experience in Madison WI.

ISO recommendations for a restoration expert in Madison/southern Wisconsin who can restore a 100+ year old oil painting. It’s dull due to wood smoke and the accumulation of old-age grime. It was painted by my great grandfather and we’d really like to appreciate it in its full glory.

Currently, channel 27.3 is a camera view that I don't recognize. An internet search has given me conflicting information as to what is scheduled and nothing remotely gives me a clue. Yes, I am laid up on this beautiful day and very bored! Anyone know how I can determine what I am looking at?

I went out for a late dinner with a friend. About 10 minutes after finishing, my friend starts to feel sick and becomes lethargic, slumping over the table and feeling clammy; he says his stomach really hurts. He asks me to pay (I leave a $10 tip on a $30 bill) and get the car. When I return he vomits (into a cup and we’re seated outside). I alert the staff and they bring a garbage can. He is sick a few more times. We leave. I have no cash! I’m concerned with getting my friend home.

My question is: do I need to go back and leave another tip for the inconvenience/cleanup? My friend and I are pretty convinced it was from something he ate at the restaurant. After he threw up he said he immediately felt better.

Neither of us had consumed alcohol, so the sickness wasn’t from that.

What are the little tiny, probably 1/8" red crawling bugs/spider style, are they deer ticks or spiders, they were inside a sailboat that was covered up in the trailer crawling around I could see them on the sail stored inside, no webs...,

I recently got out from jail in abril and I started working again. I’m currently staying with my mother but the landlord kicking me out since I’m a RSO and I have till Wednesday to find a place. I will be talking to my po about it this week about my situation she gave me option couple weeks ago. Which is a halfway house, homeless shelter or a hotel. Most hotel are asking $350 per week and my job not paying me weekly. anyone knows a place or a room that will allow me to rent. Thank you

Whats a good place to meet people, sit at the bar, and have great food, Sunday morning?

Been on the hunt for a place that does guy Brazilians. So far I've been recommended Wax The City in Sun Prarie. As this will be my first time would love to find a good sure fire place to get it done at.

Does anyone know of someone in town who rents out music practice space who would allow a full drum kit?

We play Detroit on Sunday at 5:00 pm at Breese Stevens Field. Educators get in free, as do kids 12 and under. We'll have a free balloon artist for the kids as well. It's ultimate frisbee for those that don't know.

Is there a place where I can find the schedule for the youth soccer games that happen at my neighborhood park (Sauk Creek)? I was striking out at the city parks website. I have a little flower stand that I put out on weekends and I’d love to catch the soccer crowd.

Crazy question but I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know if those free birthday mugs from Nitty Gritty are dishwasher safe? I got my first one this year and I don't want the print coming off in the dishwasher (I have been handwashing it but I'm tired right now). Any chance anyone else has found out the hard way?

I’ve seen people periodically asking for gluten free restaurants in the sub, just want to plug the gluten free fest that Alt Brew is hosting tomorrow! Let’s make it a success so they can make it an annual event

Four of us will be meeting up in MKE from various corners of the country (and UK) later this year to take in a Brewers game. While in the ‘hood, we’re planning a day trip to Taliesin. The timing works out that we’ll be wanting lunch somewhere between Madison and Taliesin (tour booked for 2:30). Can anyone recommend a decent lunch spot along the way? If not; if we’re really best off eating before we leave Madison, I’d appreciate those recs as well.

If it matters, trip is late September, price not important, but don’t want anything posh. Bonus points for cheese curds. Thanks!

Are there any Norwegian native speakers in Madison willing to hang out and speak Norwegian at a cafe or bar or while going for a walk? Maybe form a Norwegian language club? Fifteen years ago I tried teaching myself Norwegian but don't get a lot of practice. Obviously this is also an excuse to socialize while learning a new language.

Also would be interested in meeting with any native speakers of Russian or Malay.

About me: engaged, cisman, late 30s, left-leaning, software developer who loves cats and Age of Empires II and IV.

Thank you for all the responses! Since there seems like some interest in this, I went ahead and created a Meetup group that may or may not go away after 6 months based on how many people attend these events.
