21M My parents are moving down south within the year and I’ve been looking for apartments. This is a huge shot in the dark but if anyone is looking for an apartment too kinda close in age please let me know. I work full time as a steam fitter for the last 4 years and that’s the only reason I want to stay on the island. Im looking in the selden / smith town area…. It’s been the cheapest I’ve seen atleast but open to live anywhere within a 30 minute commute to farmingdale.

I’m in no rush as I have a year but ideally looking to move out 6-10 months from now.

Just trying to see if there are other people in the same boat as me.

Can anyone recommend a good primary doctor around the Islip area? We're willing to drive about a half hour for a good doctor. My wife just went to a new one the other day who wouldn't really listen to any of her concerns and wouldn't really explain anything which just felt a little defeating.

I just bought this $300 DPS gaming chair from Costco and it's okay, but I keep reading on Reddit that the Herman Miller Aeron chair for example is the best and worth the money as it'll be the last chair you buy. But new and fully loaded they go for well over $1,000. I mean, I could save up and splurge for it but I wouldn't want to buy something like that unless I knew there was a HUGE improvement over this generic gaming chair I just bought from Costco.

Anyone know if there are any stores on Long Island that have them on display?

ETA: The reason I’m asking is because my husband is working today and we have a little one, so if I can avoid traveling today and see some fireworks together as a family on another day, I’d rather do that.

How busy is the malls today? Or is it empty because everyone is home grilling?

Does anyone know if you can see the fireworks from the parking lot at bald hill? I have a dog(not afraid of fireworks) and we can’t bring him into the amphitheater so we thought we would tailgate in the parking lot but I want to make sure we will see the fireworks.

Would I have difficulty getting a spot on a Friday afternoon? Do the garage and lot fill up?

Can you help me with fireworks locations starting from West Hampton through to Montauk?

I’m moving in with my SO from Smithtown to new Hyde park and getting rid of basically all my living room furniture stuff, I assume I cannot just put a couch on the curb and tv stand ETC. what do I do in regards to getting rid of my stuff? My landlords are good people I don’t want to leave them with a bunch of stuff.

Does the town(Smithtown) have a pickup or something for this ? I guess FB marketplace is another idea but I don’t need people banging up the walls on the way out with it a week before I leave.
