Congratulations! I love this comment and this is what I am telling people as well. The medication does not do the work for you. It takes care of some of the mental game (food noise, cravings) but you still need to do the work - food and exercise. The medication just allows me to focus on that without feeling I am fighting my mind at the same time.
Exactly. Youve summed it up perfectly.
You have shifted major weight. Congratulations 🎊
Thank you! I really enjoy all the new recipes I'm trying and alternatives to my craving foods. Having a great dr, nutritionist and physio support me is helping with staying on track.
Can you share some of the foods/meals you’ve been eating?
Lots of water first and foremost. Dinner - Quinoa and brown rice with fish or chicken. Lots of steamed veggies. Vegetable kebabs. I dont like eating a lot of beef or lamb. Breakfast - Poached egg and wholemeal crumpet. Or fruit with greek yogurt. Lots of watermelon and grapes to snack on during the day. No chocolate, no or low sugar, no greasy foods, no soft drink, no alcohol. Occasional treat but Ive always craved savoury foods not sweet.
That's massive! Congratulations on your loss 💪🏻 You're absolutely correct, the meds won't do any miracles if we don't change everything else in our eating/exercising habits & I think this is why alot of people end up butting the weight back on when they're off glp1 drugs. The drug is a mere bandage in a bullet wound if changes aren't implemented.
Thank you. I figure it's costing $15 a day to take so I'm not going to just throw that money down the drain. That helped too. I can't afford to muck around with how expensive life is these days. I really think about my choices and ultimately if it's worth it.
I’m currently 6 months in, 5’4, SW 265 and CW 212. There have been some weeks I have lost and some weeks I have plateaued. One thing to keep in mind is this is the same as every other weight loss journey - the sustainable recommended pace is 1-2 lbs per week, there will be plateaus and ups and downs and it’s important to not use the scale as the only measure of success. Overall feeling better and having more energy is also important.
For me to be really honest, the first two months were rough. Fatigue, headaches, nausea at first and then on and off. I started mid October and it was mid December before I felt totally normal. It’s hard but worth it. Good luck!!
Started September 1st at 340 and I’m down to 265 right now along with huge lifestyle changes!!
Gonna agree with another commenter and say that the first two months were also very rough for me, but I am glad I stuck it out.
Amazing! Congrats!
Congratulations on your loss! Thank you for your input ♥
Congratulations on your weight loss! Are you at the full dose of 3mg now?
Thank you! And Yes, I’ve been at 3.0 since February/march. I was at 2.4 November-February because I had quite a bit of nausea at that dose. I have it less now but still need to take a zofran in the morning probably twice a week.
I was 192lbs at 5'4 starting March 8. I'm at 183 right now, though I did maintain for about 3 weeks while I was battling depression like symptoms (low mood=poor food choices for me). I titrated up to 1.8 and started feeling depressed, so I backed off to 1.2 around April 12 and I'm currently at 1.2 plus 5 clicks.
Everyone is different, but in the beginning I had diarrhoea for about 4 days, followed by lots of gas in my stomach, then the constipation came, followed by depression, just to sum it up. Now I'm feeling good, but I'm not feeling super full, so I hope I can get up to 1.8 again (and ideally to 3.0, but I'm not going to sacrifice my mental health for it).
I'm still hopeful I can lose more weight with good diet and exercise.
I started 6 weeks ago and I’m down 22 pounds
Start weight 295 5’5
I'm one month in, and have lost about 7KG.
I started at 191 at 5’2. On week 7 (3.0)of saxenda and lost 5 pounds. Had to switch to wegovy and back to 191
Only 5 lbs in 3 weeks so far. Having a hard time with some side effects, had to go back down a dose instead of up this week.
35 pounds in 6 months
35 in a year. Been on it on and off due to shortages and this is my third time m starting and I feel like it isn’t really having the same effect it did the first two times. So I might switch to wegovy
12 kgs in 2 months approximately
20 lbs on my first box, so 6 weeks.
I started in 2022 and have lost 160. Doing by best to maintain.
Holy hell, you lost an entire grown person! 😱 Congratulations, that's a huge victory! Stand strong, you got this 💪🏻
Thank you very much! I should mention that you gotta be VERY careful not to get constipated...I didn't take it too seriously until I had to have hemorrhoids operated on (local and it's one of the worst things that have ever happened to me in an ER).... and missed a week of work. Take stool softeners AND Metamucil. Seriously. And good luck! I feel like a new person.
Thank you! Usually I drink sort of a laxative tea and it does the charm for me, I'll make sure to watch out for constipation. Coincidence or not, today is my 1st day on saxenda and I haven't gone to the loo yet and it's 6pm 😂

I’m down 31 lbs. Today is day 90. I’ve only lost a few lbs in the last few weeks but have had some stressors and wonder if my cortisol levels are up. The weather is getting warmer so longer walks, hikes and outdoor activities should help.
I lost 20 lbs. on Saxenda. Then 10 more on Wygovy. I got up to the highest dose of Saxenda and then felt like it kind of lost its potency so my doc switched me. I had a lot GI effects from diarrhea to constipation.. DONT GIVE UP!!! It will go away eventually! You will feel fullness but that’s good! I was tired too but not too tired to stop because I wanted that weight down. Honestly that weight went down faster than ever before. That’s how I knew I was insulin resistant. I have tried many diets but never lost weight so quickly.
I'd just like to say I'm in awe with all of you!!! Such amazing losses and great examples to follow ♥
it's been a month and 3kg down. I'm on 0.6 and love that dose. Tried going up and side effects were horrendous. doc said if 0.6 works then stick with it. Sugar cravings gone...hunger pains gone... love it.
I started Feb 2023 and have lost 75lbs. I’m 5lbs away from goal weight and have started weaning off. I’m 5’5” F
1 week and a half? I’ve lost about 4 kilos, some gym and heaps of healthy alternatives, make positive and permanent life style changes
I started on Monday and I took my injection in the afternoon and I was 179 and this morning ( Thursday ) I was 176.2!
I'm right there with you 💪🏻 Started Tuesday at 194 and this morning I was 190.7. It's probably just water weight at this point but it's really encouraging. No side effects whatsoever besides total lack of appetite. I can barely stomach 1000 calories a day
That’s exactly me too. I eat when my does is up and then redose at 2 pm
You're doing 2 clicks per day? Double dose?
No o dose at 2pm. I feel the effects all evening and then into the next day. I slowly start to feel hungry again around the time for my next dose which is 2 pm so I eat my meal then and take my dose. I do have a little something in the morning but not much. Was rice Krispies today.
Ohh sorry, I misunderstood. I take it after breakfast, at around 10am, feel like it lasts me all day. Yesterday I struggled to eat dinner so I just ate half of an avocado toast. I have to be very mindful of what I eat and eat whole foods bc of dietary issues (coeliac disease and lactose intolerance) 😔
Started 12 Jan 2024. SW 132kg CW 98kg GW 70kg. It's been an amazing success for me but it's not the medication. Its the lifestyle choices I'm making along with it that is helping so much.
Good luck on your journey.
