U.S. University says it can’t make religious accommodations/exemptions because it is a Public University??

Why do you need a private bathroom to wash up? People do wudu all over the world wherever in many different situations. If you want a room with a private bath, pay more for that. If it's not allowed for freshman, then rent off campus.
Man im more than willing to pay for that I have no issue doing so. I only ask because I have another Muslim who said he got the religious accommodation from the school and mentioned that i should ask. He received the bathroom.
Then escalate the issue to a manager and tell them you're aware of others who got the religious accommodation. But also make sure the student is telling you the truth.
Im gonna see if he 100% did, mention it, then not go any farther. At the end of the day you’re right I can do wudu anywhere even though it would be harder than normal. Im not trying to go headfirst into uni with an expectant stuck up attitude. Im sure God will see my efforts and i’ll leave it at that.
Was it the same university?
Because the issue might be they are a public university with limited housing and cannot accommodate everyone's request and you're hearing, 'we're a public university, not religiously affiliated and have insufficient ability to meet housing demands for all students.'
Yes it was the same university. Yeah i’d that was the case that’s very understandable. The way they said it though is that because they’re public they can’t make any sort of accommodation/exemption. Right now they’re still doing rooming match ups right now, so no one has a place. That’s why i decided to mention it right now. It’s not as if i’m trying to push someone out of their dorm they already have.
