Landlord doesn’t want to renew lease. One he states I made violations but doesn’t explain them and also never gave proper notices. Secondly he also states that in good faith he will not pursue eviction process at this time if I sign to terminate lease. Sounds like coercion tactic. Also if it’s in “GoodFaith” can I ask to get it rewritten because I don’t want bad paper trail of being in violations instead can I say I would voluntary like to leave when my lease ends
The dwelling under my lease says it’s a single family residency, and the other tenants are just people he knows that are renting vacant rooms in the back from a garage that was turned into two separate ADU
And the garage is written in the lease as part of what you're supposed to be renting?
So I do have the key to the garage because it was on lease but the other portion of the garage was built into two little ADU which he added separate doors and keys for .
You're giving very vague answers. You say the garage was in the lease but then there's another portion. What exactly does the lease say and what exactly did he rent out?
From what you've written so far, it sounds like the landlord double rented the space he had already rented to you.
It’s vague because it was originally a garage/laundry room before he turned 75% of into a “live able” space . I only know this because the LL is family and I know what the property looked like before . I figure he was doing everything legit according to law until I started reading the lease in more detail
If he didn't start building the living space until after renting the garage to you in the lease, he's renting out the space he rented to you, and you should take him to court.
No this was done before, I don’t care about having access to ADU just wanted to know if there only one unit number and one electric meter can he have more people living the back
The electric meter is in your name and you're paying the bill? If so, no. If the landlord is paying the bill, yes.
Yea all utilities are under my name! He does give me 100$ for there utilities but only because I thought what he was doing was legit not knowing it was probably not
Yeah, this has gotten complicated. At this point, I think you should talk to a tenants rights lawyer
Thank you for your help you gave a lot of insighting information I needed
You're welcome. Please let me know how it goes.
