Lost on day 3

There's no 1 answer, since everyone is different. People that already know 5 different langauges, hear Dutch all day, are not afraid to make mistakes, have a Dutch partner, have no "baggage" that makes learning in other ways difficult: 50h or something, in total? I've had students go from nothing to finishing the B1 book in 100 lesson hours, though those students are pretty rare.

But, more average will be like 100h in total to get from A0 to A2, this includes both lessons and self study. Some can get there with self-study alone, but that's really not for everyone, definitly not for the average person i would say.

The road to A2 is probably the most difficult one as well, since the majority of grammar is somewhere along that road, and since you need to start with very limited understanding of the language, everything is quite daunting. That's where lessons come in: to break it up into understandable chunks, and you can just ask for more explanation if something is not clear.

There will be times that you think "ah, now i get it!", and then you flip the page and negation is introduced. Or past tense. Or stuff with er. A2 will for a long time feel like a struggle, learning something new all the time.
