[JJ Redick]He shot over 40% from three this year. I want him shooting threes.
Why wan't you let it go
Cuz he doesn’t wan’t to
Who cares what he wan’ts
or maybe he really wan'ts to?
It’s an abbreviation for “He wants me to want him to shoot more 3s”
Fucking disgusting
Who the fuck made this graphic
somebody who says "should of"
Ricky Ricardo soundin ass fr 😂
At least it ain’t 3’s
What's wrong? It's clearly short for wannot.
Need a 50/40/90 outta lebron this season 😮💨
He had 50/40 last season but he's never going to hit 90% FT lmao that's like the one Achilles heel he has
For the amount of times he goes to the line, I feel like it's not that much. The biggest issue about Lebron to me has always been he doesn't have a consistent pull up midrange that he can lean on like his rival SF's in Kawhi and KD can even though they're not better. Even having Rui's midrange would make getting buckets in the clutch so much easier at this age than needing to force it at the rim or rely on teammates to hit their open shots
This is very true. There was a game early in the season last year where he was hitting a bunch of middys and you could see just how much easier that made the rest of his game. If he had that shot consistently in his bag it would’ve made series like the Spurs and Dallas so much easier for him. The draw back from being built like he’s from Krypton is that he relied mostly on that his whole career and for good reason. But guys like KD Kawhi don’t have that body and athleticism. Their way to dominate was shooting.
It’s funny because even without being a shooter for the first half of his career the man is still the damn all time leading scorer and averages 27 for his career. But with that middy he probably would be at 30 for his career.
Yeah that's the drawback of his body. It's obvious he's practiced the shot to an ungodly degree. It came alive during the 2012 Celtics series and 2013 Spurs series. The problem is that it's not consistent, and he knows it, so if he misses the first few, he doesn't go back to it. I really like his baseline fadeaway and top of the key fadeaway. Those seem to be money whenever he pulls it out. The 3 is the best it's ever been, so it's obvious he practices and is constantly working on it.
I'm wondering if all that muscle is preventing him from moving in a fluid and smooth motion like guys like MJ/Kobe/Kawhi can.
Yeah he’s built like a freight train. When he was younger he was a lot more agile and crafty to mix with the athleticism. But as he’s gotten older he’s beefed up a lot. Basically traded agility for more power. Can’t say it didn’t work out for him though. He’s not built for the aesthetically pleasing moves like a Kobe or Jordan. He’s built to go right through you which is beautiful in its own way.
Unrelated but i love the “build like hes from krypton” description of bron lmao
You guys love to say hot takes and not know what you are talking about.
If you were to break lebrons career up into two decades the first 10 years and the second 10 years. Each decade he was like top 5 in midrange jumpers made.
The difference over the last 5 years as the league went more analytical with less midrange jumpers and more 3 and drives to the basket lebron has changed his game and reduce the amount of mid ranges he has taken like everyone else.
You can look online from lebron years in Cleveland and miami since he was a kid and see him take the patent midrage at the top of the key or on the left side of the court. This was his money shot until the league went more analytical with the 3s and elimination of the midrange game.
Last the first spurs series in the finals lebron was 22 with a team of g leaguers vs a dynasty that won 3 championships. He wss going to struggle vs that team just like every star did that playoff run vs the Spurs so his jumper had nothing to do with that series.
The second spurs series vs the spurs lebron's jumper was off just like every finals with miami except the last. Normally lebrons midrange and 3 would be on in the first 2 rounds but as the playoffs prolonged his jumper would go because in miami Lebron had to do everything (be the best rebounder, defender, playmaker, scorer, weakside shot blocker and etc). As lebron got tired his legs would go and so would his jumper. Anyone that has followed lebron knows that his jumper and free throws become trash when his legs get tired.
That is the main reason he left miami because he was getting ran into the ground with the dumb trapping defense and being expected to do everything for the team. Which also caused his back to mess up threatening his career which impacted him the first season in Cleveland.
But is overall the same as rate? Isn't Lebron's jumper around 40%? That's not bad, but it's not elite against someone like Kawhi. I don't blame Lebron for the first Spurs series.
I believe with his son here now, he wont want the story of his son's first season with the lakers to be one about how they didnt even make the playoffs. I believe he's going to be super engaged (even more so) and super motivated (even more so) to win.
He had the second season ever shooting 75%FG at the rim and over 40% 3P. Other season was him in Miami lol that’s its own special split
he shouldn’t be shooting more 3s, just continue with the smarter 3s. he’s been great with his decision making & balancing the scoring/passing. but God forbid we turn bron into only transition layups/cuts/3s typa player.. feature the postgame & middy a healthy amount.
LeBron had his Magic Johnson season (2020), his Michael Jordan season (2022), his Steph Curry season (2024), now he needs a Kevin Durant season where he's both a 40% shooter on high volume AND a threat to go to the rim at any time
Imagine if he ever shot 80% from the free throw line
He did shoot 80% from ft line last playoff series
What if he shoots so well in his last seasons that his career average went up to 80%?
As someone that has been watching Lebron for a long time I think the biggest reason for his free throw percentage is a consistent form. I swear every single year he changes something about his free throw. Some years he’s a lot more squared up and balanced, some years he’s leaning and stiff, some years he doesn’t even bend his legs. He’s never just had a specific routine. If he can get his 3pt shooting to over 40% he can definitely get to 80% at free throws.
he was a threat to go to the rim all season last year. Last year was his KD season more than his steph season
In the 22-23 season, Bron hit like 8 3s against the spurs then never really had a game come close to that. I want him to shoot more 3s, he’s so much better than anyone* will give him credit for
Huh??? I mean we both share the same sentiment about him shooting more 3s but I'm like 90% sure I remember a game this past season where he either tied or made his career high in 3s in a game (can't remember which one)
wait yea you’re totally right, I forgot about that. I’m kinda deep on baseball and soccer too rn, so I mix stuff up or forget things. Good call
If it's clutch time, I trust LeBron's 3s than his freethrows
Everyone shooting more 3s. Even AD 🙏
Man a lineup with Klay, Knecht, AR, Bron, and AD would go hard. Gonna shoot the most 3s lmao
damn that’s crazy klay would get to miss like ten threes a game
No defence
I'm making a joke about shooting lol why this place so serious all the time.
think it'd work in the regular season
"oh, shots aren't falling today" — take a loss without playing heavy minutes
with Lebron/AD creating space Klay/Knecht/Reaves should shoot better than worse most nights, to get by the regular season
He has improved his 3 point shooting but his strength is definitely still getting to the rim and creating offense.
That works for LeBron. He wants to shoot more threes too. Threes are worth more than two point shots and they’re easier on his body.
He gon.a do ti the scoring record what Kareem.ince did to it...shits gonna reenter the space of records that may never be broken again
I do too but only if he has legs for it
He has respectable midrange, it just looks clunky, like a Malone fadeaway.
That apostrophe is killing me
