Most of the tamilnadu based subs either lean towards dmk or admk or bjp. But are there any neutral subs?
Exactly! We need a space to put forth discussions. How will you be aligned with a party if you do not know what the party has done exactly and what their opposition has done? Good discussions always make informed voters in the long run which is beneficial to the country. Sadly there has not been a safe space for that even in Reddit
Why only India? Worldwide it's the same. Political affiliation is like a belief in God. People can't see things without the political lens, just as they can't do without the religious lens.
You're right about the state of the subs. But i don't think it's the people. It's the nature of social media.
Common people's voices are almost immediately drowned out by these algorithms in favor of polarizing and emotionally provoking voices from extremists views.
I still think most people are generally good at heart, and want meaningful discussion with centrist views. It's just very difficult for any social media platform to remain that way when extremist views get so much more engagement.
But it is true that we are a little worse than many other countries. We have a long standing tendency to bend to power. But even that I think is changing now.
Came here to say exactly this. If u get into a group of random people you will find a mix of opinions. In social media you will find that subs are more polarized as algorithms tend to recommend more of what you like thereby ending up in more like minded groups. You will never be as vocal and opinionated as you are in social media because the real world has consequences for such actions.
On top of that mods block heated discussions in most subs.
There is no such thing as 'neutral' in politics.
Not everything is politics
Nope politics is everywhere and in every fuckin thing. People usually overlook it because of their narrow view of politics (it's my opinion) you can tell me your views.
In order for a neutral sub to exist, you'd need an equal number of participants from all sides, which is impractical.
And, if you have been using reddit long enough, you'd know that the senior mods of /r/tamilnadu and /r/chennai are certified oopees, so, you can't imagine anything other than a one-sided view there.
Despite all the bitching and moaning by the oopees about this sub, this sub is as neutral as it gets because the mods here won't censor you for not aligning with their political view.
For all the cries about RW being facist, I have found left wing subs to be more disapproving of views that don't align with the mainstream
Haha. You’re right. That’s why I posted it here. Other subs, people think I am in some way opposing their view while I just put forth mine
No one, including me, is neutral. If anyone claims to be neutral, they are just pretending to seek attention.
No, political subs will inevitably become an echo chamber no matter what.
Every political sub and every person who has a political view in India lives in a echo chamber. Indians have lost the ability to have a spirited debate. Its just name calling and echo chambers now.
If it is neutral, people start posting their support to a party and bashing another party... and eventually it becomes an echo chamber.
I joined r/criticalthinkingindia sub because they were neutral. But some stupid started bashing dmk for anything the people do... this is how stupids make everything into their political tool🤦🏾♂️
Some kids were drink drinking and he says "this is dravida model"😑😑 spoilt kids do spoiled shit everywhere. Why is everything against party A or B?
Bashing dmk doesn't make it not neutral tho.
Bashing a civilians mistake to an entire party is. There has to be some sense. You can't blame everything on any party for that matter.
But if that civilian is backed by party like dmk then they absolutely are the ones to blame. Don't be stupid and only look at mainstream. Dig deeper and you will find DMK in every corruption of Tamilnadu.
civilian is backed by party like dmk
What does it have to do with some rouge kids drinking?
These shit happens everywhere. Its not like stalin is feeding them wine🤦🏾♂️ Im not supporting these kids, but blaming a party for some kids is crazy.
Now start blaming dmk for teens drunk n drive and making tik tok also🤦🏾♂️
50+ spot on dead happens everywhere. Wow didn't know that. Keep this intellect up, don't cry when others treat you like a pushover.
Critical thinking left the chat.
No use in arguing with you. Exactly my first comment
i will give you some critical thinking for you to do.
search how many deaths due to illicit liquor happened in tn from 2016-2019
how many deaths occurred in 2020 (this is due to covid lockdown and tasmac shops being closed)
then how many deaths occurred from 2021-2024
now compare which govt was in power during the said periods

I agree. But, people are not blaming Stalin. They are blaming the person who by chance is associated with dmk. So a long thread goes towards top management at dmk.
But this tactic, which I do not approve of( blaming a party for an individual) has been used by the same Stalin and dmk a lot of times as well. So why wouldn’t other parties take the same gamble they have taken countless other times?
I'm not just saying this for dmk lol. It applies to all parties
Ohh. My bad then😅 I think we are on the same page
Even for giving an example, this sub is triggered that i supported dmk😂😂 i hope this answers your post
So you are a neutral who votes for DMK .. OK 👍😁
Honestly yes. I can be a neutral voting for bjp as well... do neutral people not vote?😂
Neutrals do vote but they align to their favorite party while voting just like you 😉
That sub is a big joke irony is that they named it “Critical thinking”
No... it was ruined by politicialy based members who posts against some party, hence making others defend it😑
There is non in all over india. If there is a poltical discussion in an indian sub it automatically leans towards a political party. I think it reflects the peoples mentality in our country in general. People are so polarist in our country , we can't even find a space to have a meaningful discussion.
