Yes, I know. It’s okay to be extremely jealous.
It was in recognition of my hard work, so I love it very much.

Wonder if it's better or worse than the gerber paraframe
That’s an interesting question, buy both and do a review
The paraframe is literally the worst "good" knife I've ever had. I bitch about it any time it pops up on here.
Ive had like 3 of em.. it was what I thought a good knife was before I ever used anything else
The Gerber Paraframe (to me) is a symbol of all that was wrong with the production knife industry through the 2000's and up into the 2010's. Mainly because that's the knife I saw on every godamn end cap at a sporting goods or department store before I went to the actual knife isle to be disappointed even further. That time is the Dark Ages of the production knife industry. Some people were making decent knives but not many. When I was a little kid Gerber was considered to be a very good knife company. They sure fucked that all up.
I skinned a whole deer and dry walled most of an apartment building with mine before I lost it.
I choose to believe your subconscious yeeted it off a bridge while sleep walking.
Not impossible.
The only one I had broke, never bought another.
My old man loves the paraframe. I keep a couple extra on hand to gift him every time he loses one
Is there anything decent about them, besides the price??
I like the blade shape. The handle is my main gripe. It's just not comfortable to hold at all.
It does have a pretty nice shape for sure. And the grip looks absolutely agonizing, especially if you have bigger hands.
Para costs more lol
I own the paraframe mini as well, and they are very similar. Both 2.2 inch blades. 7Cr17MoV. Aluminum scales.
Time for a torture test
Worse.
That's rough
I know
Let me stop. If you’re a young dude. Just starting out and you’ve been impressing him and legit like your job them good for you man. If you’ve been working hard I give you props. However other than just for practicality it’s a pocket knife that will work just fine but if you see it as you’ve been working at the place for 30 years and you’ve never had a raise and your boss is finally recognizing you with this knife then ya, Stab him in the foot with it and get yourself a better job and a better knife. Just don’t buy your first SpyderCo!
Lol this is a very valid outlook. I work for Smith & Wesson and I’ve been there about a month, so this was a very welcome gift!
They couldn't give you a M&P 2.0 9mm instead?
Right this revelation puts this in a whole new light.
Just wondering you work at the Smith & Wesson in Springfield???
lol. I’ve just been messing with ya. I didn’t know anything about who or where you worked so I’m thinking you’re holding a good job and this was some milestone gift lol I was thinking man this company doesn’t appreciate him the way some do. Sure it’s a nice gesture but I’m even more pissed for you if you actually work for SW and that is the knife they chose to give you lol. I’ve been somewhat of a knife snob lately and have just been really into them and like I said that knife will get you through most Amazon boxes and mail and will last a lifetime but it’s not what they could have given you! What do you do for them if you don’t mind me being nosey?
And that’s why I said don’t get into knives now and buy your first Spyderco because being bit by that spyder is a real thing lol you can easily go broke wanting to collect them hahah I bought a manix 2 about a month and a half ago and have just read and watched as many videos as I could about the company and it’s something I decided to support. Great company great people and lots of American made quality knives. Even when buying their knives that are made in China and Japan you’re still supporting an American dream. So I decided to try and find all the first made models and that proved somewhat easy and hard as they still make a lot of them. I also started buying from cheapest and working my way up. So I own the Manix 2 LW that I converted to liners and G10 scales and own their whole “budget” line. Mostly all in G10. So in a month and a half I’ve purchased like 8 knives LOL I also own a Benchmade infildel mini and a hand made fixed blade from AUX manufacturing. Those two alone are $1000. So be careful if you decide to jump in! lol
boss gives you a gift? must be an asshole
Boss doesn't know better. And awesome that he's showing recognition!
To anyone outside of this weird-ass hobby, that's a great knife!
That’s it, I’m selling my dirty underwear and picking one up.
Maybe we can make a deal…
Hahaha!
My boss stabs me in the back.
With what knife, though?
I know, right? Imagine getting stabbed in the back with some 440c blade. How embarrassing.
Pbsshhh right? Better hit me with some Vanax and make it worth it.
So this is the reason my dad used to say "she would bitch if she was hung with a new rope"
Never heard that one, but I like it.
I would absolutely be bleeding out, still judging the guy's dull ass gas station knife that's never seen a stone it didn't try to drunkenly facefuck.
With the knife in your back, you yell
“I can feel the lock rock and the low grade paint for the coating and the smell of hot dogs of the gas station from where you bought th…….”
And would he leave the knife in your back if it's a decent one? That's how you know you're a valued employee.
If you can reach it, consider it a bonus.
You won't know until you pull it out. "The suspense is killing me..."
Lol
It's the thought that counts and yeah it's nothing crazy but at least they value your work and show that in some tangible way. They seem like good people.
It'll become a good beater knife.
Above all, it's always the thought that counts.
I’ve never had an issue with S&W knives.
They’re not Microtech or Gerber, but they work
I think i got one of those free with a knife order once...
I actually have one of these. Bought it on a road trip like 10ish years ago. Actually a really decent knife carried it for years before I started spending questionable amounts of money on knives. Still have it and it still works as a good beater from time to time.
Congrats man! You got a good boss. And you're doing great work obviously. Most of us have no idea what that pat on the back feels like.
Time to Quit.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA
yk damn well it was not that funny bro bro 😭
my dad has one of these, it’s really cool to look at !
That sells at Cabelas for $14.99. Your boss actually wants you to quit
Resist the urge
Use it to cut him./joking
Beater knife. Drop knife. Whatever.
That is really cool!!
I have a black one. I had a Buck, but lost it.
Cool knife
dang all my boss ever gets us is pizza
Does your company's policy about weapons forbid you to carry it.
Cool. I’ve got one identical to that except it’s labeled Winchester. 👍🏼
Your boss seems like an awesome person to work for.
Looks pretty slick!
You got one cool boss
That's awesome!! I like the paraframe from Gerber but to use it's a bit pants. This looks better than the paraframe in terms of blade but it's the great "look" that is actually both their downfall because of the grip issue . Maybe if the frame was coated in something with bit more grip....?
nice
Toss it in the trash
I hope this is a joke.
Congratulations on your new knife! Would you be so kind as to tell us what knife you've just got? (brand, model, etc...). This way people who are new to knives will be able to identify it. If you've already mentioned the name of the knife in question, then feel free to ignore this comment. Please remember that not knowing your knife's brand/model is totally fine, if that's the case then people in this subreddit would love to help you identify its brand/model.
