You're not going to use the turtle as a test bench like Vu does are you?
Nope! Don’t worry man✌🏼
You used the turtle as bait and all the attention went to them instead or your knife. Hopefully you now know you can’t compete with his greatness.
I know it man, I know it🤙🏽

That is a great looking knife right there. Wish I had a fraction of your talent.
Wow thank you man, appreciate your words! 👊🏽
Beautiful work. Why 1095?
Thank you! Want to try different types of steel. Cheers 🍻
Typically better for a fixed blade, same reason esee uses it and buck uses 420HC
I do apologize if my post came off as snarky or antagonistic.
Esee and Buck use those steels because they’re familiar with them and they’re cheaper and easier to source, not because they’re better. I do agree that carbon steel is a better choice for larger fixed blades. There are a plethora of steels I would choose before 1095, steels like 5160, 3V, A8, 52100, Infi, SR101, and so on.
It’s hard for knife manufacturers to change their setups to work with other steels. ESEE has started using white river as an OEM on stone of their blades in new steel. They have been exploring out into magnacut and A2.
A2 isn’t too bad. I used to own a few one piece knives by Chris Reeve Knives and they worked just fine. I do know it doesn’t take lateral stress as well as 5160 or 3V but it’s a good tool steel. I’m looking at a trying out some Magnacut one of these days.
I have not used A2. It seems like a dated choice and felt odd esee went with that.
I have some magnacut fixed blades but haven’t had a chance to put them through heavy use yet. Still waiting on sheaths for both.
I’m curious how Magnacut will handle winter here in the interior.
Better than what? Buck uses the 420 so they can stamp it I believe. It’s easier to produce.
1095 is easy for companies to work with. It’s been around forever, easy to heat treat, much easier on tooling and abrasives. Bladesmiths use it because it’s easier for them to forge than other steels.
There are numerous steels that are far superior than 1095 and 420hc in every way except for maybe cost and ease of sharpening. 3V is one example. It’s twice as tough, roughly 3 times the edge retention, and more corrosion resistant.
That same reason every small knife maker chooses it. It’s cheaper and easier to work with.
I like tortoises
I'm guessing you're also from Maryland based on username
You’re guessing wrong 😕 Eastern Europe
My bad. Looked like a Diamondback Terrapin to me, but I'm not a herpetologist. Go Terps! Also, nice knife
Thank you man!
I need to know more about that tortoise. Who are they? What do they do? Are they a good boy/girl? Tell your tortoise I said hi.
Beautiful knife by the way! Elegant and very functional.
Bout tree fitty!!
It’s cool but are the scales really worth it? Look at it running for its life
Cute dog!
