MAGA frets over Donald Trump primary losses: "What is going on?"
articleThat's BS. Liz Cheney is about as far right as you can get policy wise, yet is openly opposing Trump since 1/6. Same with Kinzinger.
Even if it's only 5% of the GOP that agrees with those 2 and will now vote Biden, it's significant because Trump lost in 2020 (popular vote wasn't close). Outside of all the minority felons that now sympathize with him (/s), where is he gaining support? All the suburban women losing their rights due to his SC picks? The aging boomers that don't believe in vaxxing?
This is why I don’t believe the polls are really as close as they are. Trump lost in 2020 and has only lost support since then. Democrats keep outperforming in every election since 2020.
Will it be entirely too close? Absolutely. Will it be closer than in 2020? I don’t think so.
For what it’s worth I live in a heavy red state that will for sure go to Trump. But I’m still seeing a lot less Trump flags and signs than this time around 2020.
I firmly believe trump will receive a historic beat down. But I’m still going to vote as if he’s going to win. To add to those factors you named also don’t discount the devastating effect Covid had on red states. They lost millions of votes over that and the number isn’t negligible.
That is so true. No one talks about how many of those voters were lost.
