IDM

I finally got around to digitizing old tapes from my college radio show, TechHop. I posted an episode from March 1999 on Mixcloud last week with tracks by µ-Ziq, Squarepusher, Autechre, Boards of Canada, Plaid, Bola, Aphex Twin, etc. Full tracklist here. I think the show has aged well, but am curious what others think!
Hey all,
Remember walking under the sodium glow of streetlights or a baldachin of leaves while sounds reverberate through skin and thought? We do.
Long-term Reddit lurker here and thought I'd break cover to let you know that my friend's book, website and an 8-hour ambient music mix, following the arc of a night out or even accompanying your own, launched yesterday. The download link to the mix in this link also shares an excerpt from the book: https://thedeepark.com/
But it wasn't until I read this review this morning that I thought a wider audience, like some you hip and froody dudes, might be interested: https://internationaltimes.it/into-the-mystic-2/
Some disclosure, I wrote several of the pieces and helped proofread the book and website so I naturally believe it rewards investigation. It's been about 8 years (or 30) in the making.
Street Fighter EX3 - Future Objects
Phantasy Star Online 2 - Underworks Probe
ibb & obb - level 1 (cheating, Kettel's the composer :P)
Streets of Rage 3 - Beat Ambience (title screen)
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door - The Great Boggly Tree
Streets of Rage 4 - Aphex Train (do obvious homages count as cheating? :P)
FTL: Faster Than Light - Civil (Battle)
Some examples. Please share any idm tracks you've found while gaming :D
12 tracks ranging from IDM, downtempo, electro, and ambient. Inspired by Boards of Canada, TOBACCO, and more. Since many people use different streaming services, a link to all currently available ones is below. The album tells the story of Fel, who after a summer evening is separated from her friends and finds her way back to them, in a way.
The full album is available to stream with unlimited repeats on Bandcamp. CDs are also available on BC if you like music merch.
Hey everyone - Recently, I've been having some fun making different IDM/Experimental Electronic/Ambient/Noise/etc Spotify playlists that are themed on certain emotions, styles and aesthetics. They're mostly well known stuff but I'd like to bring in more of the underground community and I'd be happy to take submissions! I'll make a different reply thread for each one in case it helps keep things more tidy. I'm looking forward to hearing your tunes!
Any production heads out there use trackers before? How are they? I'm curious by them to get out of a rut with Ableton for awhile. Is there free ones anywhere online to try out?
Finished an idm album and don’t know where to release it and just wondering if anyone knows of netlables on band camp or something that are accepting submissions :)
