At first it was just glitching and then like this, man it’s scaring me
My IPhone 13pm screen turned into this
General DiscussionYeah it only costs 2000Rs in India to fix. And doesn’t even show anything on the settings app like ‘unknown display’.
Apple India changed my display for free even though the phone was out of warranty. Some kind of manufacturing defect. Take it to an authorized service center.
Is this a used iPhone or new ?
Used
Makes me wonder if the screen was ever replaced. Or not a genuine product. Never happen to me. I’ve had it since day one.
Everything is authentic, never fell on the floor or water it just straight up glitched while im playing
Did you ise 20w charger? Magsafe charger? How often you feel your phone goes hot?
Apple themselves have agreed that it's a manufacturing defect and are now replacing these displays free of charge.
Defect for all 13pm or local/date?
For a certain batch I guess.
Any more info? Can’t find in google
Check the Apple forums. A lot of users reported the same issue.
- Phone shouldn't have any water/drop damage.
- Shouldn't have been opened by unauthorized service centers.
If these 2 conditions are met, Apple will replace the display for free.
It happened once on mine, but i was running iOS17.5 Dev Beta and I made Siri shut down my phone as the power button did nothing…
If it suddenly becomes like this, it may be a common problem with the 13pm screen. One line loses power supply and can be solved by copper wire connection, but not all white screens can be solved in this way

Same thing happened to me , go down to the apple store or an authorised apple store and tell them that this glitch happened, u most likely will get a free replacement, the same happened to me
Even id the warranty is expired?
On a 13 Pro with the same screen issue, and a phone out of warranty, I got quoted the equivalent of $500. Fixed mine personally by opening my phone (I've got the ifixit repair toolkit)
How did you solder
So the solution I used did not require soldering. It required the use of a Piezo ignition found in most cigarette gas lighters. See https://youtu.be/OCGBjV6ccDA?si=1KIS_f1e9Me0_y7C
It might look crazy but it worked for me. Phone went caput in August. Self-fixed it in November and it has been working great since. Of course, the phone's water resistance may have been impacted by that (even though I did glue the screen back with an ifixit screen adhesive). So I'm super protective against water.
The fix took way more than 6mins which is the video length. Trickiest part was teasing the screen open. Loads of isopropyl alcohol after applying heat and gently (repeat, GENTLY) prying the screen open sufficiently enough to get a pick in and then gently teasing the screen to fully loosen it being super careful on the left side of the phone (the side were the volume controls are located)
Thanks
Yeah its hard to open this ones after 11 they become very fragile
Also is it a permanent solution or temporary?
Good question. So in the video, it is mentioned that this is a temporary solution. I've had it for 5 months without issue. I have a small emergency toolkit with me most times to quickly jump on a fix if the issue still pops up again. But so far, I haven't had to open it again
Hey, I think we’re from the same country so I suggest you don’t let any unauthorized service person touch it much less open it.
I had the same issue 2 months ago and an authorized service center replaced my screen for free. Didn’t even pay a single peso not even the diagnostic fee. BUT if their in-house technician sees some unauth modifications or repairs, you’re done.
PM me if you have any more questions.
Yes, they'll fix it for free even if your phone is out of warranty!
Just as I'm about to buy a used 13 Pro max I see this kinds of posts everywhere 😭
Please don't go to an unauthorized technician. You can go to the Apple service center. they will replace it for free even out of warranty.
Mrwhostheboss just did a video on iPhone replacement screens. Really good information on pricing and quality.
This happenede to me before. I had to call Customer Service escal line 9x to get myself covered since my warranty is over
same happened to me brother, thankfully it was under warranty and took it to the nearest apple store after booking an appointment from the apple support app. Too almost a month to get the screen replaced, they said its a common issue of the iPhone 13 series, some say it only occurs in the iPhones sold in asia.
And mine became green. I just finished fixing using a lighter… look inyo YouTube
You can also fix white the same way
A lot of people have this kind of issue right after the warranty ends. Is this your case?
Ohhhhh noooo
I just want to say that if you experience this, Apple can replace this for free (not sure if Asia only)
We are currently in PH, and a Service Center immediately know what is happening the moment he saw the white screen from our phone, and they immediately asked to escalate for waive fee screen replacement, even if warranty is expired. You're gonna leave the phone with them to check if it's your fault. The very next day it was approved and obtained the device
90% of the time a new screen will work
This is a common defect of the 13pro and promax series. The hardware issue so you have to replace the screen. In south east asia we have many stores that can fix it by soldering some wire on the back of the screen.
