[unjerk] Huge props to Mr. KDH here! It is save to say that maybe more (especially young!) guitar players should listen to him instead of... say... "financially invested" Mr. PRS.
I literally got into guitar so I can eventually make music. Two budget electric guitars and a budget bass amp. Hell even my pedals are budget. I'm not making excuses for poor playing or lack of imagination and when I do I setup my guitars again and get going.
Yep I felt like I should have worded that differently. I didn't try to take it personal in any certain way, it's just I was saying how easy it is to blame your shortcomings on said equipment and feel like you can't create anything unless you invested a certain amount in. But in this hobby, time can be an alternative money a chunk of the time. If all you can afford is a cheap Harley Benton clone, with time and care you can make improvements to your guitar. In my original reply I was trying to sound optimistic like I won't let my guitars be a barrier to making music but in hindsight I came off pretty aggressive while also looking like I think of myself highly because of the cheap equipment I use when that wasn't the intent at all
