Making my way through Spain
BikeAh good, I thought I lost it there for a moment when I got that stuck in my head a couple of days ago haha
Riding from Sevilla to Madrid on my Specialized Diverge. Started with a bit of the Via de la Plata and Transandalus. Made my way up through Extremadura, now on the last stretch to Madrid.
Great set up! I'm building mine out at the moment and considering a similar one with the rear rack and front fork bags, have you felt like you've enough space for everything you need? How longs the trip?!
I’m using this setup because it’s actually a little bit too much space. Saves a lot of time not having to puzzle it back together in the morning. It also leaves room for the groceries.
Fork bags are hammock+sleeping pad and sleeping bag.
Frame is the toolbox, with some spares, pump, toolkit and lock.
Left pannier is tent, kitchen and food.
Right pannier clothes, chargers, medkit and hygiene.
Little bag under the aerobars is my edc bag.
Total km’s I’m not sure of yet, but I’ve now done 7 out of 10 stages, ranging from 50-110km/day. I’ve got a lot more time than that so I’m not riding every day.
Only thing i’d suggest is one of those mountain bike bottles with a cap for the lower bottles. Gets less mud and dirt on the mouthpiece that way.
10/10 setup tho, and a great looking bike! Enjoy the trip my friend
It’s a spare 0,5l that I pour over into one of the cleaner ones. The top two actually had those caps, they fell off within a week of riding.
That works!
Rip, if it’s any consolation I lost my entire bottle first downhill session when i splurged for one with a cap lol
Thanks for the info! Sounds like a smart way to divvy things up per bag.
Looks a beautiful route, enjoy!!
Do you know the weight of the entire setup? Looks great :)
From flying with it I estimate it’s around 35kg
Thank you so much for sharing what is holding what. I'm new to bike packing and have been really curious about the best way to pack out without turning it into a puzzle headache. (Especially since I have mild OCD.)
Is that an Ass Saver between your rear rack? Mind if I ask what rack you use that fits it?
It is a win wing, wedged it in between my Tubus Logo rack.
Looks great! What tires & wheels are you running with? And which rear rack is that may i ask?
The decals on them are pretty clear, it’s DT Swiss Gr1600’s with Teravail Rutland 700x47.
Brilliant thank you kind sir!
what kind of rear rack are you hanging these panniers off of. Interested.
Tubus Logo

Robert is that you? You left already?
Who’s Robert? Where is he? It’s a lonesome road this time of year.
Fow the lower bottle use a botle with a cap please other wise the quantity of shit you are going to take will make you sick so badly in term of hours....
I pour it over in a clean one.
as the OP says, everyone i know just decants into something else- totally safe. many times I just swap lids.
Funny how this always, always comes up
Its definitely a great place for water
Where are you heading?
I’m three riding days out of my endpoint Madrid.
Great setup! I used to own a Diverge in similar color from my old days.
What do you use to secure the bags to the fork? I’ve seen cages and more recently the little bow tie strap points. Curious what people are actually using
The cages are from Planet X, came with bags and straps. Replaced the bags with Ortlieb PS10 bags and the straps with Voile’s. The original bags it came with were too heavy and already had holes in them, Voile’s because they are easier to work with and pink.
Thanks for the info! Also I am very jealous, I hope to do a similar trip some day
It’s just a case of picking a time and a route.
Dream aventure this! Have you been to the Basque Country?
Once, but in a campervan, not on the bike.
I’d love to go from Bilbao up to Andorra
Well Ive had bad diarrea before. I can control what is with me I cant contorl.the bacterias over the road or mud. I normally deworm my self at least 1 or teice per year.
Ok
Walking fast and I’m homebound
