I’m sick of marinating in my own juices here.
Where is the best restaurant, bar, space for a cool down?

Studio Park has cooled seats!
That is very cool
I went and saw Oppenheimer last summer just so I could sit in that AC for 3 hours lol
… how was that a pun? I’m honestly asking
The word "cool" in the initial comment meant lower temperature. In the second comment, the user used the word "cool" meaning good or awesome. However, the word in this context could also be interpreted as lower temperature. Therefore, this is a double entendre pun.
There's an argument to be made that it's not a particularly good pun, but there's also an argument to be made that bad puns are good puns.
Hope this helps. Sorry you got downvoted for asking a genuine question
Yeah it’s a bad pun. Also when I commented, it looked like the second user was saying the first user’s comment was a pun. Second user now blocked out part of the comment to make the intentions clearer. It was kinda confusing before
At these prices? I’d rather boil (jkjk)
Phoenix Theater is only $10 a ticket! We bring snacks from home to save on cash, and their seats are SO comfortable.
Only 10... god I feel so old because I distinctly remember complaining when tickets got to 10. I was in junior high. Fuck. Me.
Haaahaha, I feel that. The theater we went to before that was $17 a ticket! I was gobsmacked.
Don’t sleep on the Public Library. Grab lunch downtown, like Big-O’s is cheap and in a basement. Then have a relaxing, air conditioned read in the library.
Came here to say Library. Nice.
It’s some of the best, no cost stuff we have.
Oh man, I haven’t lived downtown since like 2015. I’m glad to hear Big O’s is still around! We loved that place.
Pretty terrific. I like getting a slice and a beer there before shows.
Libraries are so HOT right now!
Library is ok with you bringing food in?
Probably not
They definitely are. Think about all the people who bring their kids. Just don’t make a mess
Speaking for Plainfield Township Library, yes, as long as you’re fairly neat about it!
I'm pretty sure most businesses will have AC going but maybe going to a place where you don't have to pay like a public library may be good?
In previous summers I'd get the AMC movie pass and go see a movie when Consumers jacked up the cost of electricity during the hottest part of the day. I did some mental gymnastics to figure that not running the A.C. during that time was subsidizing a large amount of the cost of the subscription. I'd do it again this summer, but there aren't enough movies that I'd willingly sit through this year. I'll probably spend that time at the gym instead and Liz Lemon my way through a half-assed treadmill workout
AC Hotel, I suppose
Logans Alley is always like 20 degrees cooler than the outside
I’m gonna marinate until 85. Otherwise I won’t acclimate at all. Lots of cold showers and ice water
They keep casinos cold to keep people awake. Gun lake only 40 mins
That’s counter intuitive. We sleep better when we’re cold
Same here. But statistics show different I guess 🤷🏼♂️
It’s biology, not preference
Update: I’m currently looking at a thermostat reading 69 degrees Fahrenheit (noice)
Noice!
Side note: so where did you end up coming down at?
Malls, hardware stores have outdoor furniture indoors. Just tell them you're testing comfort. And honestly.. coffee shops can be cold. Though madcap downtown gets a ton of direct sunshine and it can be hot AF.
And stuffy
Rivertown was sweltering today not gonna lie
Damn
This is nothing, just wait till later in the summer when the humidity gets here.
Ok
Menards
Library for sure and you can sit down in one of the chairs and sleep in a corner
Library is not for sleeping, sorry. Can u imagine a whole buncha ppl in the city using this as a resource for a cool place to nap? Not ok.
Should bottle up them juices and sell it online
My AC broke sometime over the winter so now it's not blowing cold air.
I don't mind too too much since I'm from Texas and lived in a house with no AC down there for a few months (couch crashing is fun!) but at least we were able to get a cross breeze. My apartment has no such ability.
Anyway, I appreciate you bringing this subject up, OP.
I’ll put an air conditioner in your house for 6,200 bucks. Shoot me a message
Yo, this is an expensive random ass price for some dude off the internet. Are you licensed, what company are you representing here?
Yeah, I've talked to and had on-site, visual estimates that are in the 2800-3500 range for AC installations, which includes introduction into my current HVAC system.
2800 sounds pretty cheap, equipment and materials for a standard AC retrofit is over 2k, I'd be wary of accepting that quote. Poor workmanship, especially with an AC installation can lead to some very expensive repairs down the road. Fair price is around 4-5k for an average AC retrofit w/txv. Most medium sized companies in our area are north of 6, with the larger usual suspects way north of 8
Maybe it has something to do with the way the house ventilation system is designed? I'm not sure. The paper quotes I have are either scanned or in storage.
Call up any Grand Rapids local company and if they quote you that range you found on the interwebs please email it to me, thanks.
No. I'm not going to call up companies to get a quote on a house I plan on listing in like three weeks
Good luck with the sale! Hope you get more than what you want for er! 👍
Am licensed. Not mentioning my business unless somebody wants a legitimate quote. Feel free to look around for other quotes. I’m not the cheapest guy around by all means. But definitely putting in top of the line equipment with guaranteed craftsmanship. The system I’m installing will last you 20 years with no issues. Thanks
Just throwing this out there. My company has over 300 5 star reviews on Google. I’m no hack, we take our installs very seriously, that’s why our price range is north of 6,000 depending on size of equipment.
Twenty years with no issues? My man what the fuck are you smoking, there's not a single manufacturer that has a 20 year guarantee no issues lmao. If you're actually in business for yourself, you're doing your clients and our trade a disservice by setting false expectations.
Rheem equipment has 20 year compressor warranty with 20 year heat exchanger warranty of furnaces. I’m not sure you know what you’re talking about, are you even in the residential hvac buisness? If not we can talk on the phone if you want to get serious.
Full 10 year parts warranty on all other parts of the system, forgot to mention that. With yearly maintenance completed even on new equipment, these new systems should be lasting you 20 years no issues if installed correctly.
My man, are you saying that you want to talk on the phone and yell at each other, maybe get into a fight or something? Take a break if you're that worked up.
Also, I just need to figure out what you mean by '20 years no issues' Would you say, as an example, an inducer failing 11 years in qualifies as an issue? If so, then nothing Rheem is offering will make that a non-issue
I wouldn't describe any ICP product as 'top of the line' Shit, Goodman has a Lifetime heat exchanger warranty, without the literal decade long stint of trashy primary and secondary HX's, there were literal law suits that led ICP to offering a cash credit for failed HX's, even ones that are well past the warranty date
Goodman also has a lifetime compressor warranty. I think Goodman is way better than ICP, and still wouldn't describe Goodman as 'top of the line' and '20 years no issues'
Edit* every manufacturer has a 10 year part warranty with registration
Goodman and icp is junk buddy. Cheap ass systems for a reason. I work on Goodman, carrier, icp, all day everyday,, rarely do I come across rheem and ruud systems. No, I want to talk on the phone casually, to educate you, cause clearly you have no idea what you’re spewing across this platform, I’m not the one whose worked up in this conversation. Lol
Didn't you know? Spreading misinformation on the internet is fun! /s
Not me
This is a bum thread.
Movie theater
They’re always cold (unless you turn the heated seats on). Plus you can be there for a couple hours, just hanging out watching something. Get a slushee for ultimate refreshment!
