Imagine that! A film in which characters might not be entirely hetrosexual! Storm the gates! Get the pitchforks out! Burn the books!

Some of the replies and comments I've read bitching about the potential for a queer reading of Phoebe and Melody just shows how fragile some people's sense of self is..

So what if she's gay/bi/straight? Does it hurt you? No, it doesn't. If it is indeed implied, it is done subtly.

A ghost blow job, Peter trying to sleep with a student, him also happening to have a large amount of sedative in his possession when going to Dana's apartment, Gozer being willfully whatever gender they wanted, Egon shagging slime, 15 year old Trevor trying to bone an older Lucky is cool plus Lucky joking about a sex dungeon is cool and acceptable to show to children, but a very subtle, ambiguous lesbian tone is subversive and has some people melting like...oh I don't know...a snowflake.

If you think about it away from the ragemongers, it is subversive in the very tradition of Ghostbusters.

I mean, can we just stop for a second and remember the scene outside Dana's apartment where you had every religion, punk rockers, and everyone in between gathered together, chanting "Ghostbusters".

It was inclusive (a story of outsiders) then, and it is now. So I suppose my message is that if you've got irrational societal phobias, then Ghostbusters has NEVER been for you. Everyone can be a Ghostbuster. Get over it.

And once again, a wee reminder: Did you complain about 15 year old Trevor's pursuit of Lucky in Afterlife?

If you didn't, you should maybe ponder why you find an issue when it is an incredibly subtle and possibly non-existent same sex attraction in FE as oppose to opposite sex lies of a minor pursuing someone older in Afterlife.
