Gradient triggers have whats called the "Vertex mode". With that you can draw planes between 4 objects of different groups. No matter where you move one of the corners, the game will always maintain a straight line between the 4 objects in the corner.
Using external tools and multiple of these Gradient triggers you can draw any 3d object with different vertices, similar how you can show a 3d cube in 2d using 3 rhomusses. The post above is just taking this idea pretty damn far
