Other than something grand and dark in the scale of Phantom of the Opera or Don Giovanni I don’t think it would work.
This was one of the main reasons I loved it as a child. I hated the musical numbers in Disney.

Just never liked it nor the mandatory love stories. My mind was blown when I discovered anime aged 11 in the early 2000s.
No idea. But thank god they didn't.
Yeah, tone. The creator Greg Weisman doesn’t do musicals in general.
Other than in WITCH.
Ah that one I didn’t know about (the musical part that is), thank you!
He’s open to do musical episodes, but needs a good story that justifies it.
Because of Batman the Animated Series
Too tonally inconsistent.
What other Disney shows were musicals at the time? Aladdin's tv show wasn't a musical. Timon and Pumbaa did a couple of music videos, but I wouldn't call the show itself a musical. Bonkers wasn't. I didn't watch it religiously but I don't think Goof Troop was. Darkwing Duck sure wasn't. The New Adventures of Winnie-the-Pooh had that one awesome musical episode, but almost nothing else. I don't remember if the Little Mermaid had any musical numbers or not. Rescue Rangers, Tailspin and Duck Tales weren't. Gummi Bears wasn't (despite having the best theme song in animation history). So what shows are you thinking of?
For that matter what Disney cartoon has been a musical?
The movies certainly are but Disney animated TV shows are usually action/comedy
Mouseworks? They have that one song they sing every episode.
so micky mouse and friends shows usually have some sort of musical element, thats been the tradition ever since merrie melodies, so its kind of an outlier.
gargoyles was primarily an action/adventure show and fit in with ducktales and talespin and all those on weekday afternoons.
None of the Disney afternoon shows were musicals... What shows are you talking about?
I think you are mistaking the movies for the other Disney Afternoon shows
You want a Gargoyles musical? OK! Gargoyles: The Musical by LE2 on DeviantArt
Back in the day, Christine Morgan rewrote "Broadway Goes Hollywood" as a musical. It was hilarious.
Because you haven’t made it yet
i think this is the best answer lol
Uh... tone?
