I bought a strawberry plant and I need advice

Mint spreads quickly, and you should never plant it in the ground because it can easily get out of control. However, I find it really easy to pull out roots and runners from potting soil, and I have no qualms about planting mint with other plants. I know that a few times during the growing season I will have to pull out chunks of it so it doesn't overwhelm everything else, but that's easy peasy.

It’s in a pot. Water it and make sure it gets plenty of light. Fresh mint is great - use it in teas, cocktails, and even pasta. You will get more joy out of that than a single strawberry plant.

Yes remove the mint.

Yes! If you don’t it will spread everywhere. One cannot contain mint.

If possible take out the strawberry and throw the rest away. Taking out the mint will be harder.

Mint spreads primarily by rhizomes. So long as you don't put it in the ground without a border around it, you'll be fine.
