According to some people, this would make the games easier
DISCUSSION![According to some people, this would make the games easier](https://i.redd.it/xz4jdj26iead1.png)
There is actually a way to pause the game, but its very hidden.
Im sorry if this is known knowledge, but in the Inventory screen, press the Touch Pad to open Help. This brings up a dialogue box with a few options. From the Help screen, select the option Menu Explanation. As long as you have the box showing up, the game world will be paused.
Stfu are you for real?
I am... I was shocked myself.
Yea this works actually
Yep
Pretty sure you can also disconnect your controller in dark souls 3 to pause
Nope, not on playstation at least
Does this work during combat too?
I would think so, but that might be hard to do mby. I have not tried it in combat, but i use it when going afk when not near a grace.
You can’t open the map during combat, so doesn’t work here unfortunately. Will stop your ass getting jumped though just idling, or if an enemy hasn’t spotted you yet.
You open your inventory for this, not the map
I know I can bring up a map and that’s usually good enough for a “pause” button when not in combat.
You can’t bring up the map in combat
Yeah I know. I specified that.
I can’t read. I’m sorry.
You good man. 👍
it does. abused this a lot when the game came out. it works literally everywhere
Well I'm writing this down.
It kinda reminds me of Code Vein. That game also doesn't have a pause option, but you can still pause it by opening Photo Mode.
Goated game. Even if it was an unnecessarily elaborate God Eater advertisement.
Ironically I think now more people know about Code Vein than the main series, just like more people know of the side games NieR than the main series Drakengard
Doesn't really matter if you need a quick way to be able to pause. That's kinda of the whole point of being able to pause on the fly.
haha i love how doing this causes there to be like 10 of those player ghosts after about 10 minutes
Love hacky workarounds for pausing a game
your a king
If you're talking about Elden Ring, I believe this has been removed in recent patch updates. I've used the method often, and the last few days I've been getting hit.
No it’s definitely not removed from recent patch update. You can still “pause” the game through menu explanations.
I have a baby. God I wish there were a pause button.
Same, I don't understand how people say it's gonna MaKe tHE gAMe Easier. Dude it's just normal quality of life feature that every game has. I think you can pause Sekiro but no one says the game is easy cuz of that.
But it sure adds a layer of stress not knowing if the boss is gonna kill me because my toddler suddenly can't find his binky during the night 🫠🤣
Anyone with kids will tell you just how wonderful a pause feature would be.
Mid boss fight- child screaming- wife screaming that you're not doing anything about the child- mother in law yelling at wife about her poor life choices.
I'll tell you right now- that's ultimate hard mode.
Edit- considering the response I need to point out this is an exaggerated joke.
My son has his own controller and headset.
They're great for blotting out the MiL
I mean don’t you just take the death? I’ve never been bothered about letting my character die when other stuff is going on
I don’t get this take. Yes, you can just take the death and any good parent would do that, but just because thats an option doesn’t mean people shouldn’t complain about wanting a better solution
True, I'll never keep playing while my kids need me, but it still sucks you know
Why should they have to? Things happening in the real world aren't part of the game, so the game shouldn't punish you for them
Ironically as a middle aged father with 2 young kids I LOVE the lack of a pause button. “Just a second, let me finish this fight and get somewhere safe” has frequently bought me some extra time! Haha
You can just exit to the title screen? You will be able to resume exactly where you left off
Which takes way longer than just pausing it.
That's not ideal though, sometimes you need to pause during a fight and if you have to stand there for 5 seconds getting to the exit menu you'll probably die
Quitting out will reset the boss HP and kick you out of the fight anyway so it doesn't matter.
.hack gu is one of my favorite series. I remember farming doppelgangers for their shadow weapons lol
Never thought Id see another dot hack fan in the wild
Going to the bathroom? You need a shitbucket my friend
The only thing it would make easier is my marriage.
I could avoid so many arguments by just pausing and doing the thing I was asked to do
That's the ol' Marshall and Lily technique.
Be me.
Fighting a hard DLC boss

Wife needs to cross TV
Can’t pause
Panick
You_Died.gif
I cri everytim
Same.. now I have the option of dying where I was, clicking L3 and hoping nobody finds me, or just asking her to wait a little. Started running the mix bottle with the keep your runes on death for only this reason
Meh I just go afk and deal with whatever happens when I come back. 9/10 times nothing happened
Same, if you’re smart about it, shouldn’t be a problem with the way enemies work
The issue is when you are in the middle of a fight with a mob or boss and need to put the controller down. Obviously that if you are just idling somewhere where "nothing happens" then it isn't as bad.
Sure, dying to a boss or a mob is not the end of the world, but it isn't exactly a "fun" death and it doesn't have to be this way.
Not easy, just less annoying. If I get a phone call or if I'm food while playing the game, pausing just makes it less annoying than clearing the area.
Hate it when I'm fighting a boss then suddenly I'm food
There is literally zero downside to having a pause screen ffs, Sekiro had it and even allowed you to adjust your inventory while you were at it and armored core 6 also had pause.
I've always heard it doesn't play well with the multiplayer system. And since Sekiro didn't have multiplayer that makes a little sense.
Disable it if the multiplayer function is being used IE you are being invaded, invading someone. Solved.
I don’t know about armored core six but there’s no multiplayer in sekiro how Would you be able to pause if you’re getting invaded?
They would just handle pausing the same way every other game ever has; when you're alone you can pause, if you're playing multi-player or using the invasion items like taunters tongue or a humanity then you're no longer able to pause.
This. Like it's so simple I don't understand why people think invasions cause this huge issue. You can't even be invaded 98% of the time because it needs you to have a specific item effect up
Just kick you out of the pause menu
If you're being invaded then that means you've summoned another player so that would mean you can't pause anyway
This is for when you're playing solo
Very simple, don’t they also lock you out of the map when in combat too?
- that only applies to elden ring
- DS1 you can be invaded solo (while human)
- DS3 can be invaded solo (while embedded)
- DS2 you can be invaded solo (literally whenever Michael Zaki feels like it, there is no escape, the phantom comes for us all)
a solution would be to not let people pause while invaded and don’t let them be invaded while paused problem solved
This is bad because it eliminates swapping weapons and talismans mid fight which is a huge part of pvp, just making the menu not pause the game when someone is in the world it would be so much better
I can confirm AC6 had a pause button. Also a great game that has stuff that makes it a FromSoft game.
Elden Ring allows players to opt in to getting invaded. They can make it so that you can’t pause if you’re playing in a way that allows for invasions. This wouldn’t work in older souls games, but is very much possible in Elden Ring. Or alternatively, only have the pause option when playing offline if FromSoft decides to go back to the original invasion mechanics for future games.
You can't get invaded unless you have summoned people in. It makes no sense to force that upon you if you're just playing solo. If you're actually playing with others then sure it makes sense that you can't pause.
What about people who play strictly offline? My friends play on other consoles and I refuse to summon strangers since most build themselves to be OP. I always just play offline so I can just enjoy the game how it is. It's how I do every Souls game.
I'm playing offline only and I still don't have a pause button. That's just stupid
Yeah it's moronic that this is even open for discussion. When my dog is getting into something and I'm in the middle of a boss fight yes it would help objectively
Yeah.
There was a pause button in Armored Core 6.
Despite that, bosses like Balteus and Ibis still kicked everyone's ass.
Hmmmm...it's almost as if people's justications for no pause button is completely made up and isn't supported by anything. 🤔
its just so these guys can inflate their ego even more when they talk to someone who doesnt play souls games.
Sekiro had it and even allowed you to adjust your inventory while you were at it
That's a design choice and they surely don't want that in ER. But still, a simple pause could work. It's also true that, outside of bossfights, you can just quit and reload already.
That’s also because Sekiro’s build was severely limiting. If Elden Ring allows pausing and menu in game, you can pause right before you get attack and put on the tangiest build, pause after and take it off.
Wouldn’t work with online
You should be able to pause in offline mode at least.
Nothing wrong with a pause button. Sometimes you need to leave abruptly, and a pause button would help tremendously. I’d be grateful with one that doesn’t allow me to access inventory.
Yeah, sometimes I gotta go to the bathroom and it'd be so much easier to pause and go instead of having to restart those boss fights.
Why would you start a boss fight when you knew you had to go to the bathroom?
So, I'm not against a simple pause button but if you can't hold it for 5 minutes (cause that's how a fight lasts AT MOST, unless you're doing some crazy challenges) I'd advise to go to a doctor.
Aye sometimes you gotta shit and your body aint gonna take no
Fair enough
Ngl there's really no reason to not have a pause button. If someone around the house needs you, you need to go do something, or just go take a piss/shit, a pause button is pretty nice. It doesn't make the game any easier and sekiro even had a pause feature. Sekiro still kicked a lot of souls veterans asses up and down Japan even with one. A pause button just means I don't run the risk of getting clapped while I'm away, or pausing a boss fight to come back to it in a few minutes.
People aren't gonna be thunder gun pause exploiting like it's mega man 1.
I think Sekiro’s pause did make it easier purely cus I could use consumables while paused
Yeah fair enough, although I did personally like having the option to do so. But an alternative then would be to just have it pause on the options menu, not the inventory/other menus.
Playing on a controller that never charges better than 20% is like this
I've died A LOT OF TIMES due to the controller disconnecting with low battery — in this case, yes, 100% the game should pause. Right now sometimes my character just starts running in some direction and usually falls off a cliff when that happens
Of course if you have other players in your game it gets a bit weird to have a pause
maybe get a new controller
No it wouldn't, it just allows you to see how you are going to die the next resume.
It's in Sekiro and the games still the hardest one.
They should add this. Anyone arguing they shouldn’t is just defending these games reflexively for no reason. Just let people pause when in single player or offline. It’s very simple. It doesn’t effect difficulty, it’s just a basic quality of life feature that all games should have.
Some FS fans have a weird obsession. No matter what, they will find an excuse for a bad decision. Sekiro and AC6 have pause buttons, there is no reason why the other games shouldn't have one too.
"B-buh it makes the game easier if you can switch your shit around mid-fight!1!!"
Meanwhile, Kingdom Hearts literally doesn't let you access any kind of pause menu when in combat and will just say "Paused" when you pause the game mid-combat
Its prolly done to encourage bonfires / sites of grace as bastions of safety, if you could pause anywhere it would ruin the sense of immersion of having to find your way to rest at a bonfire/grace in order to feel safe
Sekiro just has a pause since feeling safe at sculpture idols isn't really something the game pushes for
At least that's what I think from's reasoning around not having an easily accessible pause feature is, in fact, from foregoes many qol features for the sake of immersion / reinforcing game mechanics such as respeccing being tied to valuable consumable drops
I personally don't mind as I'm going to make sure I'm safe before I afk or if I have to afk I just take the L, and I generally don't respec much if at all so I can appreciate the immersion benefits without really dealing with the downsides but I don't really have strong opinions either way
At the end if the day: skill issue
Great immersion, when I’m fighting a boss and someone is ringing the doorbell
Bruh just open the door its just s game. Nobody will die if go irl and die on boss because of it.
Your immersion is already broken when you need to get up to answer the door. Being able to pause isn't going to break it any more.
That’s what I’m doing. It’s also something one button could fix
Ngl If I want to take a piss, i'd rather be able to pause and go take a piss. It's not the end of the world if I need to quit out of the game for a few minutes, but I'd rather not have to do that. So yeah, imo it's a basic accessibility feature and it should be a thing in all singleplayer games. If they don't want to include it because of the online component they could at least add it for offline play. Guess what, Sekiro has a pause feature, and the game isn't any less difficult for it. Just more confortable to play.
I sometimes feel like an asshole because i'm in the middle of a boss fight and my wife just want to kiss me and say good night and I can't pause the game. And yes I choose loosing over getting slapped. So now i'm single.
OK, but how would a pause screen work for multi player is my question
It wouldn't. This is for when you're playing solo
Do people not understand the concept of a pause working in an offline mode while being disabled while online?
Other games figured this out years ago, it’s not rocket science lol
It.....obviously wouldnt
Monster Hunter accomplished this on the 3DS
Offline - Pause button can be highlighted and selected
Online - Pause button is greyed out and can't be selected
Iceborne is one of my favorite games of all time but it’s so annoying how there’s no pause button even if I’m playing offline.
I find it even worse in MH than Dark Souls because the hunts are on a timer and last for way longer than your average Dark Souls run through checkpoints or boss fights.
Just like how it works in 100% of multiplayer games
This ain't the hill to die on with the difficulty debate tbh
There is no difficulty debate. It's a simple pause button, how does that make any game easier?
Side Note.
I have Tourette’s and in particular my motor tics involve spastic muscle movements. I can hold the controller and continue to play, but my arms tend to move around a lot.
One of the biggest “Thank fuckin gods” I had with Elden Ring was when I discovered that the motion controls could be turned off.
For as long as I remember I’ve never been able to turn them off in any of the other games, so my options were to remove all the gestures from the shortcut commands (which you can’t even do in Bloodborne) and have to be hella awkward when tryna bow to others etc, or to just have times where I would tic and it would cause a random gesture to fire off. Mid fight is the obvious well that sucks thought, but it just gets annoying when you want to interact with a thing but start a gesture instead etc. or if you need to use one for a quest/NPC prompt and you gotta go digging.
I can also suppress my tics, but that is like tryna hold back a sneeze. Eventually it’s gonna happen, usually with interest. I also tic more during heightened emotional situations/stressors… so being able to pause mid-boss fight and let out the tics would be pretty helpful TBH.
It’s not the biggest issue in the world, probably like a 2 or 3, but the fact that it isn’t an option when playing offline does feel weird.
Playstation thing? I remember something similar playing bloodborne but PC or xbox do not have motion controls afaik
Not sure if Xbox has a similar thing, but basically if you tap x and then move the controller in a variety of ways it acts as an input for a gesture
Nope, Xbox controllers do not have motion sensors
It's an incredibly frustrating feature, I died several times because I pressed X to pick up an item and somehow I moved the controller enough to trigger a gesture
nono, what you need to understand is you just need to get good! Even if there was a pause button in the game the devs didn't intend for you to play the game with the pause button or something -fromsoft community
I know this is a really unpopular opinion, and I wouldn’t complain if they put in a pause menu…but I like not being able to pause. It just adds to the immersion and danger. If I have an emergency or whatever…My character is dead. So be it. Who cares. If I want to use the bathroom, I find somewhere I feel is safe. The feeling of finding somewhere safe within the world hits different than “press a button and reality no longer exists”
The neat part is you could still play this way if you wanted to even if there was a pause option and then others who prefer to pause could also do that.
I said I wouldn’t complain.
So don't pause then. Problem solved. Meanwhile, I can pause whenever I want and we can both have what we want.
There isn't a downside to a pause menu in general and I'm not really against it in principal... however you could argue that switching weapons, consumables and talismans would be instant and therefore remove some of the commitment of your build.
I also think that most arguments like "what if I need to go to the toilet" are just kinda silly? If you've killed everything around you... You're safe to just stand there 99% of the time. Any site of grace is also safe. In fact most areas don't have a an enemy patrol going through them. I've left myself idle so many times to go do laundry or get food.
The only time it's probably necessary is when you need to get up from your game to go do something during a boss fight since that's the only time the game demands your input for a time longer than a minute or so... In that case just try and finish the boss fight? If you die you die and then you'll be safe.
If it's an emergency? Just let yourself die or alt-f4. If it's an emergency, Elden Ring doesn't matter.
From a more design based perspective, not having the safety net of freezing time requires you to focus and be present in the fight and raises the stakes for you personally. Basically forces you to be immersed.
Skyrim combat doesn't feel very engaging for a lot of reasons but pausing mid fight is definitely one of them. Even if souls/Elden Ring doesn't allow instant item effects.
I hope I don't come across as a too flippant, I just don't think it's a necessary thing.
however you could argue that switching weapons, consumables and talismans would be instant and therefore remove some of the commitment of your build.
So just make it so that you can't open the inventory while the game is paused. There's no reason why the pause function can't be separate from the menu function.
I get your point about immersion but a lot of people don’t have the luxury of spending that extra time to get to a safe zone or finding a place to AFK without risking losing your shit. Sometimes you need to take a phone call or answer the door or attend to a family member’s needs. Also you can just choose to not pause.
Also the first point is completely mitigated by just not letting the player access their inventory while paused.
Sekiro had a pause. Did not affect the game negatively at all. In fact, it made it better. No pause is wack and always has been. It's like a missing basic feature.
That's what mods are for
Just quit out
Can’t believe I had to scroll this far to see this. Since DS1 this is the way, works for losing aggro too if needed.
As a stay at home dad with a 3 year old it would certainly make it better. It did ac6
I'd say more for convenience
it’s not at all about making it easier, it’s the fact that a lot of people may have sudden things happen that they must attend to.
someone may get a call from work that they need to take, or to go take care of a family member when something happens. people should be able to attend to those things without some convoluted pause feature that could have just been implemented into the game itself.
I think what people aren’t picking up as that ER is more lenient with room to breathe than they realize.
- There’s like three hundred grace sights to offer a safe spot, apart from maybe 3 them if you’re idle long enough.
- it takes one second to press a couple buttons to quit to menu.
- menu hopping offers a ton of other benefits behind it, like resetting enemy positioning/aggro, stopping you from falling to your death, and takes you beck behind fog walls if your boss attempt goes belly up.
- You could also just teleport to the roundtable hold faster than it takes to quit the game.
Sure, having one could allow you to pause DURING a boss fight, but let’s be honest, you’re gonna panic roll to your death the moment you unpause. And before you say Sekiro and Armored Core have pause features, their pauses don’t operate the same way as each other, and if Elden Ring had one, It would probably operate different from both of them. The only real conveniency to having one would be to stop yourself from potentially getting swarmed by a group of enemies while you’re gone, but again, read points 2 and 4.
I’m not saying I’m against having one, but a pause button wouldn’t necessarily be the game changer you’re making it out to sound.
it did legitimately make Sekiro easier in a way i think some folks don't realize
being able to hotswap my shinobi arts in the middle of a boss fight/between boss phases is godlike
True but this could be avoided by doing something akin to Nioh where the pause screen is separate from the inventory/gear menu.
I don’t care if they add this feature either way but you can already just quit to main menu anywhere in the game world. It constantly saves your state, and even forces a save while quitting. You can even quit out mid combat against a boss and it puts you right outside the fog wall.
You just described an inconvenient pause feature
One that exists in the game without anyone having to wait for a patch that will most likely never come.
That's not really a solution but alright. The point would be so you could pause in the middle of battle.
Is it so hard to simply quit out to the main menu or rest at a grace? Never understood why people need this when there’s other solutions.
You have to go through a menu to quit out. Or to fast travel, which you can't do in combat without an item no one ever uses.
Instead of just hitting one button to pause so you can check the door. The thing that's been around for 35+ years.
Sekiro has a pause and I found it to make playing not easier, but instead more convenient. Having time to consider my inventory is very helpful for a person like me who regularly fumbles buttons and has trouble distinguishing similar looking items from each other. It's nice when I have to piss or take a phone call to just pause the game and come back rather than having to run from enemies and hide to get a minute. There's nothing about pausing that's making the game easier, it's just a functional difference.
Elden ring could’ve used QoL improvements but that won’t happen for the sake of “difficulty”. Some of its design choices just feels outdated.
Just started Sekiro and I can confirm pausing is OP as hell. Guardian Ape got shredded second try cuz I was able to min-max all my active items lmao.
i just quit to main menu
yeah and i should’ve been born with wings and super speed because it would’ve been nice and convenient, but i wasn’t. yet i still enjoy life and get by just fine without it
i don’t think anyone is arguing against this …?
I really wish that was the case
Take a scroll through the thread brotherman.
Everyone was shitting on one of the GOWR writers for saying she wishes there was a pause button since she has kids
She doesn't have kids, it is taken out of context from a video where she was explaining different types of disabilities.
She was right, but people are dumb and think situational disabilities are not a thing (when they have been for years)
Yeah point stands
yeah i was agreeing with you, just saying she doesn't have kids and added context to that
just read some of the comments. too many hardcore souls fans trying to defend the devs decision cause they believe somehow if the game has a flaw it isn't as good anymore
Would love this.
As a parent. Yes please.. It's not about making the game easier, it's about not dying to easy mobs or mid boss when the kids need help with something
Or when Amazon show up.
You can already pause the game,my son showed me the other day
The reason we don't have it is because the games are made to be always online right? With the ghosts of other players and that stuff
Being able to pause a game, to stop the game, make it easier? No way? How?
Sekiro had a pause
Idk about making it easier. But ngl... I would be quite happy to have a pause button still. It's just a good thing to have if need a break from time to time.
I can't count the amount of times where I had to run to graces/bonfires inorder be able to safely take my hands away from the keyboard!
So if you can already pause the game by going into the help menu... what's the problem with just adding an official 'pause' button?
A lot harder to remember all the buttons I suppose, especially when something urgent (like a child doing something stupid) happens.
I dont care that much because nobody here made the game or series so let the devs choose what they want
You can pause the game in Sekiro, that isn’t easy at all
u can literally just exit the game in 2 clicks and when u come back you’ll be in the same spot, you don’t need to pause and unpause while in the middle of a boss fight, i like that you have to commit to it, can’t just pause and stop the fight whenever u want
I’ve died so many time cause my baby started crying. I spend countless hours entertaining her and rocking her to sleep so it would be nice to have a pause button for when she decides to wake up and I’m in the middle of trying to get my 200k runes back.
Playing Elden Ring with an infant in the house is the real challenge mode.
I don’t really have a dog in this fight, I’m certainly not gonna say I’m actively opposed to a pause button, but it literally takes 5 seconds to quit out of the (auto-saved) game and load it back up when you’re ready. I don’t feel like it’s nearly the QOL shortcoming people make it out to be…
I’m not against this, but I’m just curious what button it would be on the controller? All the buttons are spoken for
Press start to open the menu, hold start to pause
The only reason it doesn't exist is multi-player and invasions
Sekiro has a full blown pause option since it's only PvE
Why do people keep saying this? Obviously you wouldn't be able to pause a multiplayer game, it would only work if no other player was in your game
Most people, especially elitist souls chuds, aren't going to care about accessibility settings till they're pushing 40 and their arthritis prevents them from playing the newest fromsoft game.
Fromsoft fans when people ask for basic accessibility/quality of life features to make the game a bit more enjoyable for them (these people are ruining the difficult, challenging experience from soft presents!!!!)
I will be real, there should have always been a pause feature. The hidden pause feature exists in ER and it's too obtuse. Why wouldn't you make it a basic feature?
No but I would have the privilege to take a shot when ever I want even if I am in a dungeon
I agree that the game should have a pause button. It would not interfere with the difficulty at all. Some of us need to pause the gsme sometimes because you know... irl stuff...
And those people don’t know that it actually exists!
If you go into the inventory, and then press the “help” button, you get a drop-down menu of 3 different items. Select “menu explanation” and it pauses the game!
It's not matter of making the game easier, it's a matter of realising that people still have lives. If, say, the postman knocks at my door with my parcel, my choices are to either die in the game or to miss the parcel. Nobody is going to miss the parcel because otherwise they're not "gud" enough.
I can't even imagine how you play if you have toddlers.
I love FromSoft, but the lack of a pausing option is a bit wanky, to be honest.
Didn’t sekiro have this?
Weird it totally would
It would be nice to be able to properly pause these games when I need to go to the bathroom, get a drink or go and do something for 5 mins
At current I just go to the edge of somewhere and hope there is nothing nearby to come and attack me. Either that or I have to wait till I get to a fire/ site of grace
Is this bait?... I feel like "make the game easier" followed by anything is meant to be bait
I feel like this hasn’t really been a problem though, I feel like it’s always been like that so that even in the equipment screen you’re not safe. It’s good to see a lot of new people due to ER success but why would From change certain mechanics around new people when it’s not been a problem before. Either way I’m not trying to hate, stuff happens that you can’t control if they add it fair but they won’t
Not easier to win but easier to play, not being able to pause a single player game is super annoying.
If you get a call or somebody comes to the door, or your partner needs you to help with something or you want to go to the toilet or a thousand small things then being able to pause the game would be amazing.
QOL isn’t dumbing the game down, it’s just making it more convenient to play. Imagine if pausing was disabled in home movies or shows, there would be no reason to, it doesn’t make the movie more difficult to watch, just less convenient.
During boss fights it would influence how you need to not panic and stay focused
...but in the open world I legit don't know how it would break anything. Unless hearing your character screaming from the toilet or kitchen or whatever is part of the gameplay
It took me until Dark Souls 3 to realise you could save by selecting Quit to Title Screen
Aside from multiplayer issues, which could be fixed, and immersion-related arguments, which are kind of tenuous, the main reason you can't pause is that there's no buttons left on the controller that could be the pause button.
Sure, you could put it inside the menu, but there's already a pause mechanic hidden in the menu anyway.
It would be convenient if opening the map paused the game, or if trying to open the map when you're in combat paused the game, maybe that could work.
I would love a pause screen, even if it was like this and didn't let me otherwise interact with the game. I have small children so being able to say, tend to my 8mo old who just woke up screaming without having to just get up and walk away from an unpaused game would be nice.
I have two kids. I normally play when they’re asleep, but on the off day I’m playing while they’re awake, it’s nice to be able to just stop without repercussions. That’s why I hope they never patch Elden Ring’s Equipment Info pausing
I mean, to be honest I just want this so that I can, like, get up to pee or make a drink or let my cat out without having to exit to the main menu or travel to the roundtable hold/hunter's dream/etc. Like its entirely just a matter of convenience.
I think if you’re playing the game in offline mode you should be able to pause the game. That said, it’s really not a big issue to me.
I use the mimic’s veil as a pseudo-pause button at the moment lol
Easier no but it'd def be nice have a more clear way to pause especially when my pet birds wanting help by violently spinning the camera 😂
And then chonos just unpause for you
I fully believe going into the options menu should pause the game
Sokka-Haiku by Cogexkin:
I fully believe
Going into the options
Menu should pause the game
