The titular member of most genuses is often called the same name for species and genus. A chicken, being the namesake member of its genus, is Gallus gallus. Because the red fox is often just called "the fox" and is the most widespread, successful, and famous fox, its genus (also includes fennecs and several others) is called Vulpes, as well. Not as fun as Gorilla gorilla, of course.
A red fox of course, which variant is the tricky part. There's 45 subspecies of the red fox, but you can zero it down between the European red fox and the American red fox.
