Agreed,
No use if the car is just fast, it has to reliable too (ferrari probably agrees)
Tell me more about it 🟨
WEC has an actually star studded grid of teams and drivers from all across motorsport, with such entries coming from the likes of F1, Rallying, MotoGP, Indy, Formula E, and even regional championships like Super Formula. Some drivers who didn't get the best chance in F1 have shown how good they are in other championships like WEC and some were even successful there before entering F1 (such as Hartley for example). An added bonus is that they're actually signing female drivers to race or test for them too (Iron Dames in GT3 comes to mind here)
F1's not exactly making headlines with the likes of Haas, Stroll & Logan on the grid never getting anywhere near the top, effectively wasting a slot for someone actually good to enter and it's being proven by a bunch of the feeder series drivers looking elsewhere in places like Indy, FE and WEC because they know F1 is a long shot due to lack of space, which is making F2 & F3 looking like they fail because an F1 graduate is rare nowadays. (Part 1)
WEC's races are rarely a foregone conclusion with so many teams and I see it as the ultimate test of machine, due to the fact you're racing for prolonged periods of time which then places the focus on reliability to make sure your car doesn't blow up. The tracks are a decent selection for only 8 rounds and I'd argue that the Le Mans 24h is the ultimate motorsport race, everyone wants to win it.
F1 has too many races nowadays which puts a strain on the teams, personnel and drivers alike giving them no time to relax (where you have like a month and a half between WEC races) and said team members have complained as such. There's too many street circuits now which us fans have gotten bored of, races we don't even want such as Vegas, Miami & Saudi and F1 only really cares about money and not what the fans want (as evidenced by them refusing to accept Andretti). Sprint races don't work as the whole point of them is negated by the teams wanting to save their cars for the actual important sessions and more often than not, a driver can and will just drive off into the distance and you know who wins on lap 5 as a result. (Part 2.)
Thats too much info to read so just go in and 🟦
Fair enough
Screw going by the rules every inch of the way. Yesterday was a fantastic race thanks to Landos and Max‘ aggressive driving. Who cares who sits on the podium after the race, as long as we get to sit on the edge of our seats during the race?
🟩
Hamilton hates team LH, he signed with Ferrari so he can get them all a nice padded room with the help of Ferrari strategy™️
Nice thought 🟦
guy looks like Mick with short hair
❓
Ferrari strategy isn’t that bad
Fair... 🟩
There’s a lot of romanticism about how many more races and titles Senna would have won if Imola had gone differently, but without Prost around to battle he likely retires at the end of 1994 anyway whether he beats Michael or not.
He’d talked about retirement, especially in the wake of Ratzenberger’s death. And he’d also said it wasn’t the same without Prost to battle.
🟩
Will Buxton is a great track side reporter. He knows a lot about F1, but people think he's dumb because his role on DtS is to be the John Madden of F1 and explain things (in a simple way to casual fans) that are very obvious to dedicated F1 fans.
Max is overrated
How? 🟨
F1 races are fixed and chase carry is using it as a betting ring
If.. IF Andretti gets a team in F1 he will crash just as hard as he did before
Yanks hate sky F1 commentary because they aren't singing the praises of Yank f1 drivers
Senna is only this popular because he died young. Same with Gilles villeneuve.
As an American I feel the need to pop in here. I use to only watch the sky feed. But crofty just kinda sucks and it’s gotten old. I love brundle thought. But the F1 TV crew is really solid. Alex Jacques does a fantastic job. And Palmer is good. And I love DC. The man throws shade so well.
Sky sports is only available in the US with a VPN dumbass

WEC is the actual pinnacle of motorsport, not F1
