Cos it's $236 million and if we're going back like 12 years assuming this a database from when he was 23 then barely any clubs are even spending half of that.
When Messi was 23y, the highest transfer was Fernando Torres for 58M, second was Andy Carroll for 41M, third David Villa for 40M.
In 2010, a 60M transfer was already insanely expensive. So... Yeah... 236M in 2010 its something...
It was only 2 seasons later that we saw the first 100M transfer in Ronaldo.
Pretty sure the Ronaldo and Kaka deal was atleast 2 years before the Torres deal with Chelsea which are the record transfers at that time. Plus the 100 million deal with Ronaldo was done probably a decade later with after his move to Juve
Yeah. I got the Ronaldo move wrong, but i would say that the point still stands. 236M in 2010 is just nuts.
Fernando Torres to Chelsea FC in 10/11 for €58.50m
Ronaldo to Real Madrid in 09/10 for €94m
(When i said the 100M move from Ronaldo i was talking about the move to Real, wich was the first ever to be so close to 100M)
This is actually in 2030. I dont want real players to be gone, so whenever they want to retire, I make them cannot retire and turn their age back to 16/17.
LET ME RETIRE LET ME RETIRE
NO GET IN THE TIME TURNER
haha, it lets me keep interested in the game since I don't like playing with only fake players.
bro invented eternal slavery im FM lmao
How do you make them to not retire? Its just changing his age or you have to do anything else?
when they want to retire, I make them can't retire using FMRTE. I then change their age to 16/17 using FM editor.
Do you adjust their attributes at all?
yeah sometimes, if I dont adjust they will have really high mentality attributes and garbage physical attributes at 17 lol
I think the team needs a "reset" feature for this exact reason. Like when you get hired to a team, you can choose to reset the game back to the original rosters from that game's season while keeping your in-game history/reputation.
I too lose interest when I don't recognize any of the names or when the world's best players are fake.
yeah, it's such a hassle to manually make them young again lol
Yeah for real...it's right there in the board description too. Just because it's a GOAT/Wonder kid signing doesn't mean you can't overpay.
Yeah, adjusted for inflation thats ~460M
no money on earth was enough to buy 23yo messi from barça, let the board cry all they want who cares
Unless you are PSG no club would spend $236m on a single player irl.
FM is quite right in this regard.
I had Endrick as Ajax and I sold him to Bayern when he was like 29 for 225 million euros. He wasn't unique in that either
It's Man City in 2030. I dont want real players to be gone, so whenever they want to retire, I make them cannot retire and turn their age back to 16/17.
How does this work? Do their attributes go back or stay the same? Do they lose their stats??
If for example they retire at 36 years old, I then change their age to 16. They will be a 16 years old with 36 years old attributes. Usually they will have great mentality attributes and garbage physical attributes. Their phy attributes will get better in time, but still lower than normal. Sometimes I manually change them to their correct attributes using FM database.
did you play more than 3 seasons? Prices in FM are out of this world. First, every player when transfer listed, lists for like release clause so 80-110 million and noone buys them. Second, to buy most players you need to pay like 300. Something in 24 fm is kinda broken after just 4-5 years. And this is last database too.
Dude, 80-110m for a world class player is the norm, even if they are transfer listed/wants to leave.
Examples:
Declan Rice. A very strong midfielder and arguably world class, sold by West Ham for 116.6m euros. He was basically transfer listed considering he was already planning to leave for stronger teams for better salary and trophies.
Moises Caicedo. Same reasoning for his transfer to Chelsea at a similar fee, except he wasn’t as proven as Declan Rice.
Jude Bellingham. Proven at Dortmund and transferred for 103m euros to RM. Basically transfer listed too since the player had plans to leave for stronger teams.
Your so called 300m players are when you try to dig from the world class teams who have no reason to want to leave. They get top salaries at their clubs, have top teammates, have good chances at trophies, and their club wants to make sure they stay. Ofc they give you a “I don’t want to sell so fuck off” price.
I didn't say world-class player. Any player. 2.5* player from EPL team that got back to Championship. 300M were 3* players from random teams. They got 20k per week salaries wdym top lmao. That's what I'm saying, prices are ridiculous.
Bellingham is not for sale or for 1b, rice is probably 900 etc. I didn't say a word about GOOD players. I said players like euro nationals from obscure nations etc. So probably serie A players at best as current/potential rating.
We are playing different games then. I can buy Martinelli, Saka, Bellingham, for less than 300m 2nd season onwards. I can buy Kylian Mbappe for $200m or less in the first season. I can buy Valverde and Camavinga for 200m+ in following seasons. Assuming they haven’t just renewed their contracts.
Plus for those weaker players maybe their 80-110m is their “fuck off” price. Why the hell are you hung up on them where there are definitely other players of similar calibre and far cheaper in the market? If you can’t find them then fix your scouting.
why you answer me? You play in SECOND season. I said if you play 3+ seasons prices become so bad. I'm in 5th or 6th season. Play to that and say you can buy mbappe for 200m lol. Try to read next before answering. Fix your ... bruh.
Fuck off price is EVERY price ON EVERY player huh. Like Brentford 20 players costs 100+ mil, even some 2* players. It's not I can't use scouting, it's just ridiculous prices.
I said 2nd+ season. Can you read the +?
Anyway, nah, u just suck at scouting. Or there are specific circumstances. Maybe Brentford is just your club rival so they jack up all the prices.
And irl, PSG is the only one to spend more then $200m for any player. Most players are in the bottom $100m+.
You keep insisting this stupid stuff but with no evidence. I don’t see many people agreeing with you with the transfer price issues either.
There are always players you can buy for cheap. New wonderkids are always introduced. Players transfer listed for much cheaper prices. Which was the entire point of my 1st post.
To quote your words
why you answer me? Fix your… bruh.
This isn't my experience at all with the game.
I am about 15 seasons into a journeyman save and haven't seen much transfer inflation or crazy deals at all
I have few saves 20+ years in and never saw this. It can only be explained if you are really bad at scouting and trying to sign the star players of those teams, playing as some rich club.
This is in 2030. I dont want real players to be gone, so whenever they want to retire, I make them cannot retire and turn their age back to 16/17.
I am 99% sure there is a link between reputation and asking price. So if for some reason Messi wants to play for Stoke, the price for Stoke will be different than the price for Man City, because barca are aware of the affordability.
That's his minimum fee release clause
In todays money that transfer would cost 335 million, teams don’t spend that now let alone in 2009 no player is worth that
This is actually in 2030. I dont want real players to be gone, so whenever they wan to retire, I make them cannot retire and turn their age back to 16/17.
Looks like you’re playing as City (although I’m confused about how Mörhle was signed from yourselves if I’m right.
But it’s all based on the value for money. City don’t need to spend a quarter of a billion pounds on one player to improve their attacking ability.
It’s also a fairly rudimentary in-game calculation based on the “market value”, similar to how they’ll never be happy if you let someone leave on a free regardless of how much it frees up your wage budget.
I bought him but couldnt get the work permit. I had to loan him while waiting to apply for another work permit so maybe because of that?
Idk why every comment he makes about not letting legends retire gets downvoted, i like the idea. It gives a fun perspective of what the development of these players would look like in the current age which is cool. Also i heard that barcelona wouldn’t even have accepted 1b for prime messi so 200m is a steal and he will certainly make the board regret their words after carrying you to 5+ cl’s on his own xd
Thanks, I don't like playing without real players, so I manually change retiring players age with CA minimum 150 to 16/17 years old. $236 million is his minimum fee release clause.
£236 million on one player.. like wtf 🤯 absolute madness!
Was this the day after the annual board members party? Chairman flicking through emails next morning still drunk “who’s this messi chap, Montgomery have you heard of him? No? Who does this manager think he is!” 😂
good one 😂
200-250m, but realistically only psg would pay that . City and Madrid seem to not purchase anyone above 110 m
What database are you using?
It's FM21. This is in 2030. I dont want real players to be gone, so whenever they want to retire, I make them cannot retire and turn their age back to 16/17.
