Although it seemed like a great inclusion to the game, it’s unfortunate that I don’t even bother trying to build my own vault. If anything I get better results from Fallout Shelter than anything. Does anyone else feel the same about this “DLC”?
I do the quest to get the items just so I can use them in other settlements, then I leave it alone.
I find working with the vault parts to be a pain.
This is the way, at least for those of us who don't spend much time building fancy settlements.
I have yet to figure out how to get power from the main reactor to the outside without old-school wiring across conduits I place on the walls. I didn't think the chore of figuring it out was worth it. Now I just build a couple of small generators for the quests, and forget about it.

I found some sort of vault-specific connector in the connection menu. But I found it after I stopped trying, and haven't went back to see how well it works.
mate the vault walls move the power around what are you doing using wires
Being bad at making a vault.
And "it just moves the electricity through the walls"? I can't get the damn power generator to clip to the walls.
it just sits on the ground. Do I have to build an entire generator room for it, using the power room tile set to make it work?
No you don’t have to move the reactor from where it is or even touch it there should be a short hallway module connecting from where the reactor was first found, if the vault your building connects to that hall power will flow although all walls must be connected correctly
My mistake not from where the reactor is first found but the entrance to said place.
