Grease burns on face and in ear…ok to treat at home or?

Seeking Opinion On Injury

So I was searing a steak in oil in a cast iron skillet and flipped it too fast…the oil caught me pretty damned good…none of the burns are huge themselves and some hurt worse than others…the two in my ear probably the most…am I ok to treat this at home (have been using burn cream) or should I get them checked out? 3 days out from the burn.

Not a medical professional. Have had plenty of oil burns. The ear is the only one I'd worry about personally. Maybe get checked out.

Don't use oil for steak. Trim off excess fat and use a little butter. The remaining fat will take care of the rest. And obviously don't over cook it into a brick.

Yeah I usually only use a touch of oil in cast iron but I was on the phone and distracted (my dumbass) and over did it…why the ear ones in particular?

The ear just looked more inflamed. Probably fine. I get random wounds almost daily. I ignore them.

Trust me, skip the oil. A little butter at the right temp, and some seasoning as preferred. Don't go crazy with salt. 2 mins or so per side until medium rare or less. I cook deer almost the same way.

Yeah the bottom wound on the ear is a bit more broken, the top one seems more “sealed” like the ones on my face but hurts more than them
