A question as a non-player interested in saving for this game

I am potentially interested in getting into this game. I, as of now, have two flight sticks and pedals as well as a tobii eye tracker. I have always been interested in agriculture life and thought it would be cool to check this out.

As a player with no experience in this niche, is it worth buying farming simulator 2022 or is a new one coming out soon? I've been down on my luck financially lately so debating if the purchase is worth it right now or if it's better to wait. Does the game have a ton of micotraneactions or DLC's I need to worry about?

I think this game could provide a good outlet for down time when I'm not working while also teaching me something interesting to me.

There is no news of a new version coming out yet. There are no microtransactions in the game, however, there are some paid dlcs available, none of which are essential to gameplay. That being said, the game is now available, including dlcs, at a very discounted rate.

Im assuming you want it for pc? You can buy the base game then mod it to your hearts content and get the dlcs at a later date. You dont need dlcs to get the farming sim experience

Yeah I want it for PC, as I don't have a console. That is awesome because as I'm rebuilding the last thing I wanna do is spend extra cash. Probably gonna pick the game up in a few weeks!

The steam summer sale starts in about 7 weeks. You could wait till then and get the premium edition on sale. That would get you the base game and most of the dlc.

Pick it up for sale on Steam. There is literally a metric fuck ton of mods and maps you can download for free without having to purchase any DLC.

Also the dlcs don't drastically change the game. They add stuff that mods also add and unless you are super interesting in logging or using a specific brand of equipment they aren't essential for most people.

FS doesn't have microtransactions on the PC/console versions. There are a handful of DLC's, but not too many, and they aren't really essential, though some like Kubota or the forestry DLC add passenger seats and logging winches. And the amount of mods available it probably 10x what you pay for flight sims (from what i understand about it's cost), with a official mod hub that means those mods have passed Giants testing, and several 3rd party sites like Kingmods and FBM.

There haven't been any announcements about the next fs, and i'd probably still get 22 now. Some people prefer 19 over 22 though. There are a few differences like seasons being a mod in 19 while it's already there in 22. Many mods have been converted from 19 to 22, but some things i still miss like Agribumpers, Sandy bay or Gemeinde Rade (both maps, with the latter being only roughly converted by the modders when mapping tools came out to have something different).

I’ve been absolutely hooked on this game for hours after playing via game pass. No DLCs yet, tons of free mods, even on console (even more on PC).

I’ve never tried a single dlc because there’s a mod for almost anything. The game is really easy to get into. I have controllers but I like playing it with my keyboard. Once you clock in a decent amount of hours and understood the basics of the essential tools you’ll quickly go to the downloadables section and have loads of fun! This game is the one I played the most out of all my games and it’s the one I expected the least from. Take that as you will.

Definitely worth it. It also works really well with a HOSAS setup if you don't have a wheel.

I’d go for it now. Last I saw the version with all the DLC was cheaper than just the base game. There are thousands of free mods on the in game modhub as well.

Eye tracker for Tobii is pretty limited in the way Giants programmed for it, I personally don’t bother with it on Farming Simulator. Love it on other games though.

I'd say get it. Such a fun game to sink hours into. Also I believe there's a new Farm Sim Game every 2 years. So should be an announcement for a new game this year.

Buy the base game FS22, no need for DLCs, I’ve been playing without them for years. There are so many mods that you really don’t need them. One FREE DLC is a big game changer: Precision Farming, but I suggest you don’t install that until you’re very very familiar with the base game.

this is probably one of the best games that dont require dlc or microtransactions unless you pay for mods wich is pointless because there's millions of free ones
