Starting a as close to realism as I can save I will bring the prices of things close to real life and use some other realistic mods
I inherited a farm … give me an ideia of kit of machines that are on said British beef and arable land farm
LF - Mods, Maps & Gameplay ideasIn East yorkshire where I am a lot of farms have a manitou or jcb telehandler.
John deer tractors for the big farming companies (the lease them on mass) but the smaller farms have differ a lot MF is popular.
They tend to farm rapeseed (canola) on mass here for fuel production but also lots of grass fields and wheat for animal feed, and potatoes are popular because the ground is better suited to it than southern farms.
Combines are rented with a driver, if you want to go hard on the realism rent the combine and hire a driver the price is pretty close. Potatoes are harvested using Grimme implements and rarely the big root harvesters. Grass is typically wrapped in bales as clamps take up too much space and yards are usually quite small on account of the landscape been up’ill n’ down dale here.
Calmsdem farm (sp) is a pretty good representation of Yorkshire farming.
I have no idea if the rest of the UK is similar. Spent some time talking to local farmers to get this info.
Also the sale prices are most accurate on medium based on farming magazines. Though irl the amounts and prices are agreed several months before the harvest and quality checks are completed before the first tip, I haven’t found a mod that does this yet.
MAN I LOVE YOUR IDEIA I love doing potatoes so imma do a inherited potato farm
Lamborghini R8, New Holland, JD for tractors, Verdestad seeders and planters, definitely jcb telehandlers
This selection sounds familiar
Possibly, but there are alot of farms in England. 😅
Sounds like it's from a show I watch, must be just me that's seen it then.
Probably so, it’s a shame Hawkstone isn’t sold in the US yet…
Deere and jbc.
Quite often in England, the make of equipment is simply decided by what dealer happens to be close by. I live near a JD and a Massey Dealer so it's not surprising they form the main equipment used.
And one farm that only runs old ford's, love seeing them around
A JCB Telehandler for sure. As for tractors a good range of JD, claas, new Holland, MF. Usually no requirement for twin wheel setups though as fields and therefore equipment are smaller.
