Getting back into the game after not playing since launch. I know some DLC's weren't worth it. Which ones are worth actually buying at this point? Seems like base game+mods are the easy answer. Just wondering if any of the DLC's offer something the mods dont.
Which DLC's are worth the money?
DiscussionIf anyone is planning on getting both expansions, it's better to buy a key for Premium Edition from a key site and apply that, get both expansions and all DLC except pnH at a big discount
As I read on the internet, if you have the steam version you can't activate the Premium Edition in Steam if you already have FS22 because the PE also contains the main game
You can activate a key. You can't buy it on steam though. A friend did this as recently as 6 weeks ago (obviously, not that recent)
I like all of the volvo gear you get in the Platinum expansion. I also like the Goweil dlc for the stationary balers which are great for loading a bale storage building or autoload trailer. Personally I like Horsch kit so that DLC was nice, but I don't think it is necessary.
As someone who has paid in full for every DLC pack available, they are absolutely NOT worth the money. The Horsch Pack includes a Map that is unfinished in several places including some sort of random blocks that have seemingly been left lying across the middle of the main yard area and at the Silo, there are some locked gates for the effect of security but if you drive to other end, there isn’t even fencing let alone gates so it’s half built? Regarding the Packs that give Vehicles and Equipment, each item, almost without fail, can be found (as an improved version) for FREE on the ModHub. A great example here would again be the equipment in the Horsch Pack which has a couple of pieces that have broken or non-existent animations and issues with tracking ground height, all of the items can be found on ModHub as better versions that simply work as they meant to and if that’s all it takes to beat the paid for DLC then why waste the money? I continued to purchase packs upto and including the latest release which included the Carrots etc because I wanted to show Support for the game but I’ve spent as much as I’m going to, it will take an official terraforming mod or something to that level of game improvement for me to even consider spending any further money unfortunately
Kubota, vermeer, and horsch agro and goweil is kinda cool if you play more European maps
Honestly, none of them.
Anything you get in any of them, already exists, better, in a mod that you can download for free.
Real game supporter u........
It's poor practice to just piss money at a company for no reason.
I support the game, just not the price of dlc, which are beaten by mods when it comes to interaction, sound and customisability. Oh, and they're free, not paid. Then one I hate most is the farmall pack. 2 tractors, one of which is an American tractor, but without the USA spec, that's a few pounds. That's just a big no from me
They’ve been reselling the same game for almost a decade. I think they get enough support for such a tiny amount of development work.
Go ahead and play FS08 then. "Reselling the same game" my ass.
Lol okay. When you're game basically requires an immediate download of Courseplay and Autodrive, and some GPS mod just to make it function nicely you don't get money for cosmetics DLCs
Premium dlc was worth the money. I bought it there last week and Im loving the new map
Anything they sell as DLC that I would be interested in is also available as mods. Hell will freeze over before I buy DLC for this.
ive looked at the options and im not thrilled by them. fs22 was expensive enough at launch.
Premium edition was 100% worth it for me. All DLC’s except pumps and hoses. If your thinking you may ever want to pick it up piecemeal it’s worth going all out for the discount. My opinion of course
Pumps and hoses is the only one I see that adds useful new features. Cool, platinum and premium add new productions and more root crops, that aren't fun in single player, but even the Winchester from the forestry dlc were a free mod in 17. Passengers from the Kubota were a free mod since at least 19, but pretty sure 13 and fairly sure 15.
At least pumps and hoses add umbilical slurry, which has never been functional in the game as far as I can remember
Ehh! I hear you! on console so I have less mod access than some of you. I really enjoy the winch and stationary bailer, the yarder is also super nice on hilly maps for some winter forestry. I also was late to the party with 22 so I picked it all up as a pack on sale. I’d say it was worth the 30$ or whatever it is I paid for it.
Premium and platinum offer improvements to forestry and root crops, as well as new maps. The Horsch pack provides a map and some new equipment. The other seems like just new equipment.
Pumps n hoses offers some interesting new bga dynamics, which I haven’t used but certainly change things up
