What type of machine do you guys use to handle pallets? Also what loader type do you use most and why?
Pallet Handling and loaders
DiscussionAutoload is pretty nice sometimes
Forklift mostly, sometimes i use a frontloader /w forks.
I pretty much use those exclusively for pallet handling Atm.
Forklift. The mobility of front/wheel loaders is just horrible. Catch the 55kusd electric forklift on a discount day, the electric torque is great. And you can swing it in tight tight spaces. But of course, everything takes practice. See what you’re comfortable with. I’ve found that electric forklift has good weight balance, and can fit 2 pallets, one in front of the other.
Yeah I typically use a front loader attachement if I have a low budget. Wheel loader only for platinum productions or logging. Skid steers and forklifts are the kings of maneuverability. I started off with the electric forklift on western wilds and tried it out last night. It's very nice
Personally I like the Claas Scorpion Telehandler. It’s heavy enough to take two pallets at once, has decent engine power and speed and also has a fully functional hitch with full hydraulic support. Also it has all wheel steering giving it great movement capabilities. It’s not that expensive, and can do a lot of work at the farm, like picking stones, loading wood and moving trailers for short to medium distances if you don’t have a tractor available.
I need to start using telehandlers more. They seem really versatile
Not saying its nessarily the best way (youll have to figure that out for yourself), but a telehandler is almost certaily more usefull than the regular forklift.
I've used them a little bit and they definitely are nice
None, autoload everything. I got my sensitivity turns down all the way and it’s still too sensitive to handle precise work like loading pallets.
