Remixes are usually seen as cash grabs but what are some remixes that actually improve the song?
The Ignition Remix (I’m sorry)
Jesus Is King II, the whole thing
Professional Widow, Tom’s Diner
Nero - The Thrill (Porter Robinson remix)
Body Movin. The fatboy slim remix trumps the original for me
No No No part 2. Took Destiny’s Child from that little girl group creating some buzz to global stardom.
Two definite examples, hands down!
Both of these remixes happen to be by the same production team/remix team - Masters At Work (Louie Vega and Kenny Gonzales), from New York City. They both did remixes of Bjork's "Violently Happy" and Lisa Stansfield's "Set Your Loving Free", and for me, both of those remixes are better than the original album versions. You can hear them both for yourselves.
- Bjork - "Violently Happy"
The original album version is pretty good, but the Masters At Work Remix is even better. The remix has a little darkness but more light too, more light than the original. The remix's chords and baseline make the song sound more sleek, more elegant, and more sensual. The accompaniment and the beat make the song even more danceable.

the Masters At Work Remix
- Lisa Stansfield - "Set Your Loving Free"
Lisa's voice and delivery are as spot-on as ever, but the album version simply cannot hold a candle to the Kenlou remix. I'll admit one thing. I heard the Kenlou remix years before I heard the original album version. The Kenlou remix probably spoiled me. For me, the album version by comparison is more dull and less interesting. The Kenlou remix is another fine production by the Masters At Work duo. It is respectful to the spirit of the song, but it makes the song more interesting and more emotionally moving. They kept the melody intact, but made the song even more gripping and entertaining, by replacing the bass, the accompaniment and chord progressions, and the drum rhythms with better replacements, along with making the tempo faster. Musically, what they did was a home makeover: it's the same home, but merely with better furniture and better drapes and better decorations. This remix is much better than the original album version. This remix truly elevates this song enormously.

the Kenlou Remix
J Cole - Let Nas Down ft. Nas
One of the most beautiful moments in hiphop
The Sound of Silence that everyone knows is a remix with an electric guitar. It's clearly better than the original with just an acoustic.
Do you mean the electric version by Disturbed vs the acoustic original by Simon and Garfunkel?
The version that's well known isn't the original Simon and Garfunkel track. There is an electric guitar added to the acoustic track.
Gangdam style wendigo production mix
Bizarre Love Triangle - Extended Dance Mix
The remix for Boys and Girls by Blur I actually like a lot more than the original
Bitch don't kill my Vibe remix ft Jay-Z by Kendrick Lamar
Drunk in Love ft Kanye West by Beyonce
Diamonds from Sierra Leone ft Jay-Z by Kanye West
Diamonds ft Kanye West by Rihanna
like half of the 1000 gecs remix album
Jim Jones Ballin remix
Chug jug with you. Anytime I hear American boy it’s all I can think of
19-2000 soulchild remix took what was good about the original and made it more catchy
Ringtone - 100 Gecs ft. Charli XCX, Kero Kero Bonito, and Rico Nasty
When this dropped I legit thought it was a shitpost, but was so happy to see it was real and man does it bang
