Anyone else’s grandparents drive like crazy people. Like dude the road isn’t yours?!? My grandma just took me to a meeting. My car is being fixed right. It’s about a hour away and this WOMAN IS DRIVING 95 in a 55 talking about she don’t need me being late. WE ARE 35 mins EARLY WHY ARE YOU SPEEDING. Like bro. Just let me drive. But she’s too stubborn. Like man. Grandma chill tf out.
My heart was beating so fast. The going around the curves too!! I just wanted to get there and home in one piece 😂

I (58F) live in a town in Florida, US where 61% of the population is over 65 years old. I also work full-time in the front office of an auto-body shop.
What we see every single day is very scary! There are so, so, so many people who should not be driving! I've checked repeatedly into how I can report unsafe drivers, but I cannot do it anonymously or as part of my current employment.
I've met ONE 95-year old that was calm, competant, and completely oriented. I have also met 40 year olds that are confused, unaware and are quite miserable.
I've driven in every major city in the US and I am MORE afraid to drive in this Floridian town than anywhere else. Sounds crazy, right?
It is not your imagination.
You are so right, some people shouldn’t be driving at all. And I really do think there needs to be extra tests after a certain age. Like every so often they have to get it renewed. With my grandmother I feel like this past year it’s gotten so worse. Slamming on breaks. Wideeeeee turns.
What do your parents say about Gma;s driving? Have they ridden with her? One way I cope with my mother's driving (she's 81) is I always offer to drive - even in her car. She usually doesn't object.
Do you think your Grandma would let you drive?
Nope. My parents refuse to ride with her. And she’s stubborn and doesn’t let anyone drive her car lol. She’s 74
Yikes! Can you afford Uber? Ask your grandma what she wants on her tombstone.
last year I met my paternal grandmother for this first time. I traveled to Norway to meet my father's family. my grandmother took me for a drive that scared the crap out of me. she was passing cars while going around curves on the sides of the mountains while talking on the phone. I am a prior service US Marine and I had never experienced this scale of fear in my life.
