The algorithms currently in use by Facebook, Instagram, and X force-feed you inflammatory content so that it raises the engagement rate for the relevant platform.
The reason people on these platforms take stances of "this event, which is confirmed to have happened with a staggering amount of information (rape, Holocaust, etc) didn't actually happen and doesn't exist" is because of COURSE they would.
