NERV, instead of fighting Godzilla, would try to use the same technology they use on the Eva creatures, and turn Godzilla into another Eva unit (similar to Mecha Godzilla but not all mech)

Yeah it's interesting when I watch the show and think, he is so reluctant to fight, because he's good at it. Unlike Asuka, who wants to fight and wants to be good at it but keeps failing more and more as the series goes on.

I don’t remember that scene, as another comment said, it depends on how strong his atomic breath is, theres a good chance that Unit-01, Shinji, and anyone else near Unit-01 would get exposure and radiation sickness as well if anyone manages to survive the blast and heat.
The Eva’s can survive extremely massive explosions and the LCL may serve as protection from radiation?
The evas can survive some but not all, NGE is inconsistent on this as Misato said an eva would be safer than escaping Tokyo 3 after the gian eyeball attacked, at the same time though evas are sometimes seen mobility killed or sprawled out over smaller explosions as well. As with Radiation I doubt LCL would fully shield the pilot from an extreme amount so its honestly so so with it.
Um, you can search "shinji vs zeruel" on youtube and find the clip of Unit 01 Force-slashing. And, reminder, the whole point of using Evas to fight Angels was that AT Field is a passive shield thingy that almost completely negates traditional firearms. It's something that leans more towards the magic/fantasy side of things, and I really doubt radiation would get through it.
I don’t see him doing any force-slashing maybe its a Rebuild thing or smth. Also Godzilla is a giant lizard that spews an energy radiation beam and high enough energy can in fact pierce an AT field and at that point it would depend on how much damage can Unit-01 take.

Now, you're right earlier when you said Eva is rather inconsistent, but going by the feat of catching Sahaquiel, I don't think Shin Godzilla is gonna scratch a high synch rate Eva lol. You should look into kinetic bombardment to get a feel of how OP Shinji had to have been, to have stopped Sahaquiel on his own for even a moment. And that was a weaker Shinji with far less experience in manipulating At Field. If you pit EoE Asuka against Shin Godzilla, the big G is toast lol.
Ok now I see it, I should note that this is assuming that Unit-01 is able to reach CQB range. I think if Unit-01 is able to get inside that range Unit-01 will be able to manage quite well. However, if she is not able to, Unit-01 is pretty handicapped in terms of range. Unfortunately for Godzilla stats its rather unclear only leaving the current monsterverse stats for his Atomic breath to be known and frankly its pretty horrific with it sitting at 3.15 x 1014 joules. That is I believe higher than even Ramiels funny beam but idk cause I aint a physics mf. That being said though, Ramiels beam by itself was able to almost immediately reach Unit-01s core never mind the AT field. Now like you said Shinji definitely got better over the course of the series however I feel that based on how easily it went in, it would either go in pretty easily or it would go in with only a small amount of time before being able to pierce at which the armor and core could be fucked. On top of that theres also the radiation factor as well which means if he is hit theres a possibility he could get hit with a ton of radiation and end up dying because of it.
Now specifically on the Sahaquiel incident I wonder how the power was distributed cause I feel if it was distributed a lot more the immediate impact I think would be softened by a little bit considering both would have their AT fields up.
Ultimately I think it depends on range and really which Shinji as well.

I had a dream once where Godzilla was a major character in Evangelion and always had been, and that morphed into me imagining a universe where Evangelion was a really experimental and strange spin-off of Godzilla, and was a sequel to Godzilla vs. Destoroyah (which came out a bit before Evangelion the same year and was the last entry in the Heisei era). It's a very complicated idea but it ends with the Lillith Rei turning into a giant King Ghidorei and Godzilla and Mothra having to fight her
So we got a regenerative suffering kaiju that evolves and a giants mech thats actually a giant regenerative human piloted by a traumatized boy .
I would say because of the speed ,agility and the AT field Eva UNIT 01 would win
Shin Godzilla's whole thing was adapting and evolving, getting stronger and more god-like, so probably at some point it would be unkillable even with an EVA

Godzilla for the most part is neutral. Shinji is complicated and confused as hell, shinji's power can control whether all people stay in a collective orgy or reborn, again, the whole world, so he is stronger, but Godzilla is always just waking up and being clumsy and slightly grumpy. There's a very large line between the two and their powers. That being said, I'm sure if Godzilla woke up from a 300 year slumber and found shinji standing over him he might flip out. DONT LIE TO ME SHINJI HOW MANY LOADS
